Chapter 177: Milica and Lucindaʼs reaction

The third city of Limbo - Usuria.

Milica, having roughly realized the plans of her disciples, returned from the Adventurerʼs Guild to her mansion on the same day and waited with bated breath for news.

Most of Milicaʼs followers were busy with their own business, and she didnʼt pay much attention to them.

Yes, apart from Nemo and Eulalia, Milica was not particularly close to her other followers, and this suited both her and them.

In the third city, Milica wasnʼt the only one who could help outsiders delay the takeover of Limbo, but she was one of the few who didnʼt restrict the freedom of those she helped.

It was this freedom that attracted people to Milica, and only a few of them came into contact with her from time to time, sometimes offering their services.

Among all the followers, Eulalia was almost the only one who persistently sought to attract Milicaʼs attention. And she succeeded. Thatʼs why Milica accepted her as a nominal disciple at first. And when a couple appeared and attracted her attention, Milica also decided to make Eulalia her direct disciple.

On the fifth day after the ”Reset”, towards noon, Milica, sitting in her mansion, was eagerly waiting for news about her disciples. Suddenly, she heard an announcement made by an unknown voice, which was heard by all beings in Limbo.

The ad was repeated two more times after its first time.

Milica froze in place. Although she had expected something like this, after hearing the news, she still couldnʼt believe her ears.

It took her a while to process what she had heard, and a smile spread across her face. She had never felt such joy as at this moment.

If Milica hadnʼt known that her disciples had chosen the Forest of Doppelgangers as their target, and if she hadnʼt been aware of the presence of Nemo and a couple from another world, she probably would have been disappointed by this news. Milica had spent so much time trying to pass this trial, and someone else had successfully passed it ahead of her.

However, Milica was absolutely sure that it was her disciples who passed this trial in the Forest of Doppelgangers.

No, Milica was convinced that Nemo was the one who passed the trial.

Thanks to her knowledge, Milica understood that Idan and Arabel, as representatives of another world, would not be able to take part in this trial. And of the two remaining disciples, Eulalia and Nemo, Nemo had a better chance of success than Eulalia.

Although Milica realized that Nemo had probably achieved something that she herself could not achieve, she understood that without the help of a couple from another world and others, Nemo would hardly have been able to cope with the task.

However, Milica did not want to speculate, but waited for her disciples to find out firsthand exactly what happened and how Nemo managed to overcome the trial.

Every second of waiting became unbearable for Milica. She couldnʼt sit still, and then an idea came to her mind.

”Old friend! I know youʼre probably watching me!” said Milica, looking up at the ceiling of her room and addressing something beyond her confines.

”How about renegotiating our contract and signing a new one?” Milica asked.

Silence reigned, and nothing happened, but Milica was confident in herself and continued to wait, knowing that Nemo and the others had changed the rules of the ”Game” with their achievements. And her expectations were fulfilled.

”He” replied.

Limboʼs mind accepted her offer, and Milica couldnʼt help but feel joy at it.

***

The first city of Limbo is Astakus.

Lucinda, the Light Valkyrie of the ”Diamond” rank, was sitting in her room, feeling tired. She was sighing softly.

She had a lot to do, but most of all, she was tired of constantly watching the Hero, who, due to the intervention of a couple from another world, became a woman. He learned what it was like to be a victim of those he was.

This ordeal broke the Hero. After the incident, his subordinates, who were more or less adequate, took pleasure in torturing him. They didnʼt know that there was a real Hero in front of them, thinking that it was some random woman.

When the subordinates finished their ”business,” Lucinda caught them and locked them in a dungeon, without explaining anything to them or allowing them to communicate with anyone. She carefully concealed from everyone the information that the Hero had become a woman and had been humiliated by his subordinates.

The hero himself regained consciousness only a few days after the incident. The first thing she did was, in a fit of rage, kill all her subordinates who were with her in that room.

After that, she locked herself in her room. From time to time, from her room, the maids would hear a woman crying, and sometimes the hysterical laughter of a mad woman.

The maids, who did not know about the incident, sympathized with this woman, believing that the Hero was causing her suffering. They did not suspect that in fact this Hero, who turned out to be a woman, suffered from a mental disorder.

Lucinda visited the Hero several times a day to assess his condition. She noticed that he had changed a lot. The hero was no longer that good-natured and righteous young man known as the Staff Hero, nor was he that lecherous and lustful man.

In his place, a completely different person appeared — a woman who was self-contained and suffering from the internal struggle of several personalities.

According to Lucinda, the Hero will need some more time to come to his senses and realize who she is now.

While Lucinda was sighing softly in her room, she heard an announcement that reverberated throughout Limbo.

Lucinda froze in amazement, as did all residents and outsiders in Limbo.

She couldnʼt believe her ears.

Someone managed to do it!

”Impossible!” exclaimed Lucinda, coming to her senses and abruptly getting up from her seat.

She quickly left the room, and then the building. She stopped for a moment and looked back, as if remembering the Hero. But, shaking her head and reminding herself that she wasnʼt a babysitter, Lucinda resolutely headed to the Adventurer Guild branch to find out the location of the Doppelganger Forest.

By that time, the Guild branch was crowded. Many people came here to find out who managed to conquer the Forest of Doppelgangers. Some, like Lucinda, were eager to find out where he appeared so they could go there themselves, even though the next reset was just under three days away.

After finding out where the Forest of Doppelgangers was located, Lucinda wasted no time leaving the city and hurried there. As a Diamond-ranked being, it wonʼt take her long to get there.
