Chapter 172: Naming the fox cub

”By the way, we still havenʼt come up with a name for her!” Arabel suddenly said, turning to Idan and pointing at the fox cub.

”Indeed!” agreed Idan.

”Huh?” After hearing their conversation, Sierra and Eulalia finally paid attention to the fox cub.

Before that, they thought that the fox cub was just a Doppelganger who had taken on such a form. However, they realized from the coupleʼs words that this was not the case, because the Doppelgangers already had their own names: Ned and Bera.

”Isnʼt that a Doppelganger?” asked Eulalia, still hugging her doppelganger.

”No, — Arabel replied, showing the fox cub to them, who blinked at the others as if seeing them for the first time, even though she had been secretly following them all this time.

”How about Foxy?” Arabel suggested her name to Idan, looking at the fox cub.

”Isnʼt it too corny? Maybe a Canon?” suggested Idan with a smile, and Arabel just rolled her eyes at his joke.

”Be serious!” she scolded Idan.

”Alright, alright!” Idan conceded, smiling.

And it started!

They went through a lot of possible names. Even the others joined in and offered their ideas, but they were all rejected by Idan and Arabel. Sometimes even the fox shook her head, rejecting the suggested names.

”Hehe, you canʼt choose a name for your pet, I donʼt know how you will choose a name for your child in the future!” joked Esma, and this caused embarrassment for the couple. They looked at each other, and the others, seeing their awkwardness, couldnʼt help but smile.

”How about Coco?” suggested Idan.

”I like it! What about you?” Arabel asked the fox, and the fox, already tired of the endless discussion, heard this name, realized that it was not so bad, and nodded her head, agreeing and wanting to finally end this conversation.

”Okay, then from now on your name is Coco!” said Arabel with a smile and relief.

[Ding! A name for ??? fox cub is chosen — Coco!] — the System said, and in the status of the fox cub, a new name appeared in the name line in an empty place — Coco.

Arabel let the fox cub fall to the ground, but it did not want to leave Arabelʼs side and continued to follow her, glancing sideways at Idan.

During lunch, everyone became curious about what Nemo was up to. They turned their attention to Idan, waiting for his answer. However, he just shrugged his shoulders, suggesting that they wait and see for themselves.

Idan was a little nervous himself. Now it all depended on Nemo himself.

The System itself could not give an absolute guarantee. She only referred to Nemo, noting that he had already been provided with all the necessary resources, and it was up to him how he would use them.

Everyone decided not to bother Nemo and wait for his return.

Time passed, and soon everyone began to get nervous, as Nemo still did not appear.

”Esma, I want to talk to you about your request. Please think again and give me your final answer tonight,” Arabel addressed Esme through a mental link.

Almost a week has passed since the couple signed a contract with the doppelgangers. Tonight, Arabel and Idan will have the opportunity to use the System Points to form their second Stars and get the opportunity to sign a second contract.

Hearing Arabelʼs words, Esma was a little overjoyed, but she also took them seriously. She decided to think carefully about her decision to follow the couple to another world. During these few days spent together, she learned more about them, and she had a positive impression. Esma didnʼt mind following them.

However, the couple did not give a definite answer to her question. Esma also didnʼt know how the couple could take her with them. She understood perfectly well that a couple couldnʼt just take her by the hand and take her to another world—it didnʼt work that way.

It wasnʼt until the afternoon that Nemo finally left his tent. There was a small beast lying on his right shoulder, which seemed to be very tired.

Nemo himself also looked a little different. He took off his cloak, and now everyone could clearly see the absence of his right arm below the elbow. He used to wear a prosthetic arm, but now he took it off completely before going out. However, Nemo did not take off his fancy mask and continued to wear it.

In addition, everyone noticed that Nemoʼs favorite shield, which he always carried with him, was missing. He held his sword in a scabbard in his left hand.

Nemo, feeling the eyes of others on him, calmly approached them and sat down in an empty seat.

”Howʼs it going? Ready?” asked Idan, to which Nemo just nodded calmly.

”Iʼm hungry!” said Nemo through a mental link.

”Good!” Everyone presents replied, allowing Nemo and the little beast to eat in the silence of waiting.

The little beast was surprised to see Coco, who was sitting next to Arabel. She wanted to run up to her, but Coco blinked one eye, giving her some signals. The beast didnʼt immediately understand what was going on, but it soon realized, and from that moment on, she began to act as if she didnʼt know Coco.

The others, of course, couldnʼt help but notice their interaction and laugh at their antics.

After eating enough, Nemo sighed, picked up his sword and, shouldering the beast, headed for the barrier to finally fight the Temple Guardian, to fight with Geminia.

Under the gaze of the others, Nemo confidently broke through the barrier along with the beast, which was not stopped. Thanks to the contract, the beast had become an integral part of Nemo, so the barrier couldnʼt stop her.

Nemo wasnʼt in a hurry, he was moving leisurely, approaching Geminia.

Geminia had been waiting for this moment with undisguised calmness since yesterday. For a being like her, it wasnʼt difficult to spend one day in inactivity. Every time the Temple appeared on her territory, even if there were no candidates, she had to wait in the square. And in all these years, only a few have managed to reach this point and face it.

The most memorable candidate for Geminia was a high elf. Ironically, she was the master of those young men who were challenging her now, and on whom she also pinned her hope.

It was precisely because the High Elf was the strongest of all the candidates that Geminia assumed her form upon first meeting this group.

Geminia and Nemo looked at each other and prepared for the upcoming ”battle”.
