Supreme Husband System! & Supreme Wife System!

Chapter 169: Middleman

No matter how much the couple wanted to prolong this moment and enjoy the sunset, time passed inexorably, and now the sun had disappeared below the horizon.

It was at this moment that Esma approached them with a beaming smile on her face.

Idan and Arabel, noticing her smile, immediately realized that something was wrong.

”Hehe, you should see yourself from the outside! You looked so beautiful...” she said, making Arabel and Idan slightly embarrassed, but not as much as before. They were already getting used to it.

”What do you want?” asked Idan, trying to remain calm.

Hearing Idanʼs harsh voice, which sounded slightly displeased, Esma stopped playing and decided to get to the point.

”I have heard rumors that you have something called a ”sweets” that is hard to resist! I wonder if this is true?” she asked.

Arabel and Idan were puzzled by this question.

Seeing their puzzled look, Esma took out two photos and showed them from the back, without showing them exactly what was captured there.

”The owner of these two things, called ”photos,” whispered in my ear and asked me to exchange them for these ”sweets.” Seeing the two ”photos” in Esmaʼs hands, the couple widened their eyes in surprise.

”What a scoundrel!” — Idan exclaimed, not shy about his emotions.

Esma laughed at his words. She completely agreed with Idan, because the fox really did not behave in the best way.

A dangerous light flashed in Arabelʼs eyes, and she squinted at the two photos in Esmaʼs hands.

”Show me!” — Arabel said with such urgency that Idan and Esma felt goosebumps run over their skin.

Esma, obeying Arabelʼs orders and fearing her, quickly turned over the ”photos”, but was not going to give them back until she received these ”sweets”.

As soon as Arabel saw what was depicted in the ”photo”, the atmosphere around her immediately changed. The oppressive and dangerous aura disappeared, as if it was just an illusion.

Arabel quickly took out candies from the general storage and threw them to Esme. She deftly caught them and looked with interest at what the little fox called ”sweets.”

”Now give it back!” demanded Arabel. Esma immediately handed her two ”photos” and, having received what she wanted, hurried away.

Idan, intrigued, went over to Arabel to look at the photos. She did not conceal their contents, but on the contrary, moved them a little closer to him.

In the pictures, Arabel, cuddling up to Idan and resting her head on his shoulder, the couple enjoyed the sunset. Both photos were taken from different angles and were executed at a high level.

”Heh, no matter how you look at it, this scoundrel has a real talent!” said Idan admiringly, looking at the photos taken by the fox cub.

”Yeah, I agree,” Arabel nodded, expressing her agreement.

Then, the two of them carefully examined the surroundings, but they didnʼt find anyone.

All this time, they were sure that the fox cub was somewhere nearby, watching them, but did not show up for fear of being punished for his past actions.

Now they assumed that she probably ran out of candy and couldnʼt show herself to them, so she found Esma and used her as a middleman to get the candy.

Idan and Arabel wondered curiously how long the fox cub would continue to hide from them.

”Well, shall I take them for myself?” Arabel asked Idan.

”Take it, you gave up your candies for them...” said Idan, but when he saw Arabelʼs confused look, he froze.

”Isnʼt that right?” he asked.

”I... I gave it out of your package...” Arabel said, and Idanʼs right eye twitched. He didnʼt check, believing Arabelʼs words, and sighed.:

”Take it.”

”Thank you,” she thanked Idan, and, admiring the photos with a smile on her face, she went back to her tent. Idan watched her go.

After standing for a while, looking towards Arabelʼs tent, Idan decided to return to his tent, which he, as usual, shared with Nemo. He was going to check it out and talk about the upcoming trial against the Guardian.

Esma, having got what she wanted, returned to her seat, without ceasing to admire the ”sweets”.

Eulalia was no longer around, she returned to her tent, still hugging her doppelganger in the form of a cute beast.

While Esma was looking at the ”sweets”, a little fox cub suddenly appeared in front of her. She was vigorously waving two photos in front of Esma, while demanding candy with her other paw.

Esma couldnʼt help but laugh as she watched this funny scene. She held out her hand with the candies, and grabbed the photos with the other. The fox cub released the photo only when there were candies on her other paw.

Esma, like a fool, was looking at two photographs of herself. On one of them, she was sitting with an offended expression on her face, pursing her lips, and on the other, with wide—open, surprised eyes fixed forward.

”Heh, heh, heh,— Esma laughed, looking at her photos.

These two pictures sparked a lot of ideas in her imagination for new photos where she would be captured in different poses and expressions. Suddenly, she stood up and looked around for the fox cub, but her trail had long since disappeared. She was nowhere to be seen.

Esma sighed in disappointment, but she didnʼt give up hope. If a fox cub appeared in front of her once, then she would definitely appear again in the future. Moreover, it seemed that the fox cub was the coupleʼs problematic pet, and if she followed them, she would always have a chance to see her again.

In the void, intoxicated by the familiar taste, the fox cub slowly lay down and enjoyed the sweetness she had missed so much over the past few days.

She was already starting to show signs of withdrawal due to the lack of these treats.

The sweets she received from the Mistress and the Master were so delicious that, having tasted them once, the little fox could no longer live without them.

Over the past few days, she had been trying to find a chance to show herself in front of them, but each time, at the last moment, she was a little scared and gave up her attempts to make peace with them.

Very slowly, the fox cub enjoyed her first candy, and when it was over, she looked sadly at the last remaining one.

The little fox realized that it couldnʼt go on like this anymore, and she needed to make peace with her Mistress and Master as soon as possible so that she could have a constant source of these sweets.

The fox cub has decided that she will make her move tonight.
