Chapter 966: Chapter 10: ‘Work’ and the Airport

In front of the teppanyaki shop at the station, a fierce-looking young man suddenly pushed the door open.

With a menacing gaze and both hands in his pockets, his walk slightly hunched over… Anyone who made eye contact with him would instinctively look away.

The diners lowered their heads, eating the food on their tables, and the shop suddenly seemed to fall silent.

The fierce-looking young man walked straight to an empty table deep inside the shop—but unexpectedly, he didn’t sit down immediately. Instead, he pulled out a chair and let a child sit down.

It turned out that a child in white robes had been following behind the fierce-looking young man all along… But the young man was so intimidating that people had overlooked the child behind him.

This child seemed quite peculiar as well—like the white robes of a monk in a mythological story, and he had ribbons wrapped around his eyes.

“Five orders of okonomiyaki!” The fierce-looking young man sat down, shouting loudly at the shop owner.

“S-sure! Right away!”

Seeing the owner hurriedly bowing and cooking, the fierce-looking young man clicked his tongue, glanced at the child beside him, and started pouring a cup of warm water, grabbing the child’s hand and placing the cup in it.

“Wait a while, the food will be ready soon,” the fierce-looking young man said in a somewhat unpleasant tone—though his voice was much softer.

The child just nodded, not speaking.

The child couldn’t remember how he ended up with this person, nor could he clearly recall who his parents were, but he vaguely knew he had parents—these memories were quite blurry.

According to the fierce-looking young man, he picked up the child from the roadside because he seemed obedient, so he decided to take him along. If the child ever disobeyed, he would be abandoned.

So be more obedient… the child thought to himself silently.

Right, he used to be able to see what this big brother looked like—even though his eyes were covered with ribbons, for some reason he could see… though the perspective color was somewhat strange.

“Don’t open your eyes casually, it will be troublesome, so unless permitted, never open your eyes. But I’ll think of a way, don’t worry, little guy!”

That’s what he told the child.

Be obedient… Keeping this big brother’s warning in mind, he tried hard not to open his eyes.

At this moment.

“Hey, did you hear? I heard a big family was destroyed by fire overnight.”

“I heard a lot of firefighters were deployed…”

The diners in the shop were discussing something.

The owner had already brought out a large serving of okonomiyaki, and the fierce-looking young man began eating in large bites, completely ignoring what the diners were discussing.

Suddenly, the fierce young man’s sleeve was tugged slightly… It was the child.

“Little guy, what’s up?” The fierce young man frowned.

The child raised his head slightly and asked curiously, “Do we have money to pay?”

The fierce young man was momentarily stunned, then without thinking, he tapped the child’s head and whispered, “Idiot! Don’t you know about dining and dashing?”

“Oh.”

“In a bit, you stay to wash dishes, and I’ll exit through the back door,” the fierce young man quickly muttered, “You’re a kid, they won’t trouble you! How’s that? Appreciate the favor, why don’t you!”

“Oh.”

“Eat up!”

“Oh…”

…

“Hurry back to your lousy parents! Go!”

The owner’s tone was obviously bad. If it weren’t for the child, he might have resorted to violence. The owner’s wife’s persuasion played a part too, fearing reprisal from that unruly-looking guy, so they chose not to call the police.

Of course, there was also the possibility that the child was abducted by the fierce young man… But considering the young man’s fierceness, the owner’s wife subconsciously didn’t think in that direction.

“Don’t do this next time,” the owner’s wife kindly reminded, “If… if you’re in danger, just shout for help…”

The child politely bowed, then walked away.

Watching the child leave through the back alley, the owner frowned, “What’s with that child, isn’t he blind?”

“Who knows…” The owner’s wife shook her head and pulled her husband back into the barbecue shop.

At this time, the child exited the back alley, ‘glancing’ left and right, and finally saw the big brother who had found him—at the moment, he was standing in front of a vending machine, kicking it forcefully.

Not long after, the big brother came back carrying two drinks and tossed one to him—it was milk-flavored.

It was also warm, not cold.

“Little guy, drink up quickly, I’m taking you somewhere later!”

The fierce-looking young man squatted down, his tone unfriendly, “I won’t be with you for long, so after teaching you how to survive, I’ll be leaving, got it?”

The child silently nodded, only to grip the milk can a bit too tightly—this sudden force crushed the can, and milk splashed, spraying all over his face.

“Little guy! You’re trouble!” The fierce young man hurriedly wiped the boy’s face with his sleeve, “Drink my can, milk coffee!”

“I’m sorry…”

The fierce young man shook his head, sighed, then grabbed the child’s hand, ready to leave.

“Where are we going?”

The fierce young man said, “I told you I’m teaching you survival skills, just follow me!”

…

Soon after, the office door of a manager at an underground bar near the station was violently kicked open.

At the same time, several men were directly thrown into the office.

Seeing this, the manager, who was fooling around with a female employee, stood up in shock and quickly fumbled with his belt, “W-who are you!”

“Boss, someone is crashing the place!”

A young man, clutching his stomach in pain, spoke from the ground.

“Crashing the place? Who dares!” The manager might not be someone who easily compromises, as he sneered, “Watch me beat him to death!”

“Oh? Who’s planning to beat me to death?”

A fierce-looking young man walked in directly, without a word, tore down the office door, and flung it against the wall.

The door shattered into pieces.

Seeing this, the underground bar manager gulped, his legs trembling so much he needed to hold onto the table to barely stand.

“Hey, are you the boss here?” The fierce young man approached the underground bar manager, grabbing his collar directly, “I have something to ask you!”

“W-what is it, brother!”

“Do you have any debts you haven’t paid back?” the fierce young man asked directly.

“Debt… Oh! I get it!” The underground bar manager shivered, then quickly looked at the female employee he’d been teasing, her clothes disheveled, “Go! Open the safe over there! Get the money out!”

“Who said I want your money, are you an idiot!”

The fierce young man directly lifted the manager of the underground bar with both hands, “I’m asking you, do you have any targets who haven’t repaid their debts!”

“Huh?”

“Aren’t you hiring debt collectors here?” the fierce young man added, “Hire me, I promise I can help you perfectly recover those bad debts that can’t be recovered!”

“This… this…” The manager’s eyes widened.

What should you do when a violent guy who can tear down doors with one hand wants to be hired as a debt collector? It’s not an option online, but urgent…

“Hire or not, say something! You bastard!”

“Hire, hire, definitely hire!! We must hire you, big brother!”

“Not just me! It’s the two of us!” the fierce young man snorted coldly.

The manager subconsciously glanced behind the young man… a child about ten years old?

“Hire, we’ll hire both…”

“Should’ve said so earlier, wasting time!”

The fierce young man directly threw the manager of the underground bar onto the big office chair behind the table, then reached out and lifted the child beside him, grinning menacingly, “Little ghost, get ready to start the job!”

“Oh.”

…

…

…

…

The roar of engines.

Hongqiao International Airport—this is the international airport of the world-famous Magic Capital of Hua Country, with flights continuously departing for destinations around the world, naturally flights from all over the world also never cease.

“Passengers on United Airlines flight CZ3516, please proceed to…”

The sweet voice sounded on the broadcast, but the passage seemed surprisingly deserted at this moment—of course, this was because first-class passengers were given priority to leave, and it was also deep into the night.

“So cold…”

Song Ying instinctively wrapped her coat tighter around herself. Although she knew the ground temperature before coming out and put on clothes temporarily, the huge temperature difference still made her unable to adjust.

She shivered all over.

“Of course, it’s still deep winter here.” Song Haoran looked at the airport outside the glass, smiled, and said, “It’ll be even colder when we get near Mount Tai.”

“Aren’t you cold?” Song Ying glanced at Luo Qiu and saw that his clothes were still very thin, wrinkling her brow.

“Not too bad.” Luo Qiu said casually, “Back when I went to South America, it was winter here.”

“Didn’t you grow up in the south?” Song Ying asked curiously, “How are you so resistant to cold?”

“Probably because I had some training.” Luo Qiu smiled casually.

Song Ying wanted to roll her eyes—because Luo Qiu looked like just a frail scholar, you couldn’t tell where he was solid.

“Okay, we’ve been on the plane for a long time. Let’s rest at the hotel first, we still have to hurry tomorrow.” Song Tianyou spoke at this time.

Indeed, this flight wasn’t directly from South America to here, but went through Europe, and then transferred from a small European country to Xiangjiang in Hua Country, and then to the Magic Capital. It was a non-stop journey.

As for Mr. Blind, he parted ways with the Song Family directly at Xiangjiang airport, but both sides had already agreed on a time to meet again.

…

The hotel room was booked within the airport, and everyone quickly checked in under Uncle Wu’s arrangement.

At this time, the Song Family’s group ran into several men in the hotel lobby—Old Master Song seemed to recognize the leading man who looked like he was nearly forty.

“Old Master Song, it’s a pleasure to host you once again.” The man whose face seemed somewhat gloomy was probably not used to smiling, and his forced smile appeared a bit creepy.

“I appreciate it.” Song Tianyou just nodded, without saying much.

Behind, Uncle Wu was introducing to Song Ying and Luo Qiu, “This gentleman is called A. He is the capable assistant of an old friend of the master in the country. Every time the master returns, it’s done through this old friend’s channels. This helps avoid a lot of trouble.”

“Old friend?” Song Ying was slightly puzzled, then said, “Is it someone from the Zhang Family?”

Uncle Wu said, “Mr. Aqi seems to be from the lady’s maiden family. But honestly, currently, that old lady’s maiden family has only her left.”

“That’s quite impressive, one person holding two tomb-robbing families.” Song Ying mumbled, “She might be a difficult old witch to deal with… Luo Qiu, this Zhang Family seems to be in your… Luo Qiu? Luo…”

She saw that Luo Qiu, at some unknown point, had walked to the entrance of the hotel lobby.

Song Ying glanced at her grandfather’s side—they were talking with Mr. Aqi, so she irritably walked towards Luo Qiu.

This guy is great in every way, except for one thing—he loves to wander off!

And when he wanders off, it’s like he becomes invisible, and if you’re not careful, you don’t know where he has wandered off to.

“Can’t you stop wandering off… huh?”

When Song Ying was about to give him a good talking to, she saw that Luo Qiu was holding the hand of a little boy—this little boy looked only six or seven years old, with golden hair, but his face looked completely like a white person, somewhat like a mixed-race child.

The little boy, seeing Song Ying, immediately hid behind Luo Qiu, looking frightened.

Somehow, this scene seemed familiar… Song Ying’s expression froze, and she instinctively said, “Don’t tell me, this child is lost again?”

“Seems like he was going to transfer flights, and somehow got separated from his family.” Luo Qiu said.

She remembered that a similar thing happened at the Song Dynasty Hotel last time.

Song Ying shook her head, looking curiously at Luo Qiu, “Do you have a physique that particularly attracts lost kids? Why can you find lost children wherever you go?”

“I’ll take him to find the airport security.” Luo Qiu looked at the child, suddenly saying, “You’re all tired, go rest, I’ll be back soon.”

“Let Uncle Wu handle this kind of thing.” Song Ying shook her head, “It’s better not to wander outside too much… There are a lot of people at this airport.”

“Other people may not handle it well.” Luo Qiu shook his head, ignoring Song Ying, and walked out holding the little boy’s hand.

“Hey, come back! Grandpa and the rest went inside, come back… oh dear!” Song Ying stomped her foot and helplessly chased after him.

Beside them, Elder Song clearly noticed the situation and quietly instructed, “Uncle Wu, have someone follow and see what Miss and the young master are up to.”

“Okay, Master.” Uncle Wu nodded immediately.

Only then did Song Tianyou look at Mr. Aqi again, “Aqi, let’s discuss the specific matters in the room.”

“Alright… that’s fine.” Aqi nodded.

He knew that the main purpose of the Song Family’s return this time was to pay respects to their ancestors—as for the cooperation with the old lady, that was part of the later plan.

However, as someone who frequently dealt with tombs and such places, for some reason, Aqi suddenly had a feeling of a chilling wind.

Were the lights here a bit dim?
