Chapter 949: Chapter 193: Avenger

Suddenly appearing mid-air, the Queen of the Shadow Realm gazes upon the human world.

Her body slowly descends onto the street, unnoticed by the crowd, amid the bustling pedestrians and flowing traffic, she stands silently at the street corner.

The reflection of the Queen of the Shadow Realm is visible on the glass window of the store by the street. She glances at her reflection, and suddenly a purple glow emanates from her body.

In an instant, the black gossamer-like garment of the Queen of the Shadow Realm vanishes, replaced by a white sleeveless sweater and jeans.

The Queen of the Shadow Realm looks at her attire, then steps forward—only after this step does she seem to truly enter this world, appearing in the view of passersby.

Her long hair cascades down to her waist, a nearly perfect figure without any excessive fat.

The Queen of the Shadow Realm walks leisurely on the street—despite this, due to ancient contracts, she cannot stray far from her summoner.

Though her summoner barely counts as one standing at the pinnacle of the gods, it is an unshakable fact that Lucifer cannot provide her with continued manifestation power. If not for her essence being a semidivine existence, she would be troubled by maintaining her appearance.

But as long as there is no battle, everything is fine; once a battle occurs, probably after two or three fights, she will face this issue.

However, to be prepared for this, she needs to soon find a way to solve it—for acquiring replenishment of magic power outside her summoner, the Queen of the Shadow Realm has already considered.

The most direct method is naturally to find someone with magic power, construct a temporary channel, and extract magic from them—yet few in the present world possess such power.

“Modern society, huh.” The Queen of the Shadow Realm surveys the towering buildings and vehicles emitting exhaust on the road, “It’s really… what has it been polluted into.”

Shaking her head, the Queen of the Shadow Realm soon halts her steps—the reason being a smiling blonde woman approaching her.

Her eyes involuntarily brighten.

For the Queen of the Shadow Realm, able to see the talents of others, she is invariably attracted to those with talent—but only those with transcendent talents can truly meet her gaze. The blonde woman before her seems to possess infinite talent.

This is the first time the Queen of the Shadow Realm has seen such a thing.

Hence, the blonde woman also stops, her gaze drawn to the Queen of the Shadow Realm.

“A contract spirit? It’s quite surprising that someone summoned a top-tier existence like you.” The blonde woman smiles slightly—she turns out to be a maid from a club.

…

The Queen of the Shadow Realm glances at the blonde woman again—not caring too much about her seeing through part of her truth.

Not only does the woman possess infinite talent, but there is also a strong, latent power within her.

In a moment, the Queen of the Shadow Realm appraises in her heart… even if her true form under the ancient contract descended, it might be beyond her power.

“Who are you, emitting infinite talent?” the Queen of the Shadow Realm asks softly after a moment’s silence.

“Me?” You Ye smiles: “A maid.”

The Queen of the Shadow Realm slightly opens her lips—the blonde woman before her possesses beauty rivaling that of the Moon Goddess from the legendary Mount Olympus, yet doesn’t attract the attention of passersby, likely due to some curse technique employed on herself.

But the woman is presently holding a large paper bag, filled with various items—looking like a person who has just returned from shopping.

Already living in this world for a while… even completely integrated into modern society?

“Don’t mind me too much.” The maid smiles slightly, saying, “I harbor no malice towards anyone; I’m out today merely to buy some seasonings. Since I don’t know when I’ll be able to come again, I need to stock up properly.”

“You seem to be leaving this place?” the Queen of the Shadow Realm asks with slight surprise.

“Yes, soon.” The maid replies softly, “In about two days. As a contract spirit, you shouldn’t be able to stray far from your summoner. In this city, probably only that one could summon an existence like you… Queen of Hell, Lord Lucifer.”

The Queen of the Shadow Realm suddenly opens her eyes wide, extending her hand as an umber short spear appears, “The sacred Power of Destiny—is it you who bestowed it?”

Finally, the rare talents of the Queen of the Shadow Realm let her see a trace of similarity between the power this self-proclaimed maid emits and the peculiar Power of Destiny on Lucifer.

“It wasn’t me.” The maid smiles slightly, “Would you please put away your weapon? Initially, we have no reason to fight… I believe Lord Lucifer cannot fulfill the duties of a summoner now. In such a situation, why waste your power?”

The Queen of the Shadow Realm remains still—as she sees through some of the essence of the other, the other has nearly seen through her entirely.

“Moreover, if we truly fight…” The maid narrows her eyes suddenly, “The city would likely be doomed… not to mention whether that would go against your purpose, just from my side, I’d likely be punished by my master.”

“Alright.” The Queen of the Shadow Realm sighs, retracting the short spear, shaking her head, “In fact, I can’t find a reason to fight you… even though I do yearn for a match with you.”

“Innate battle nature…” The maid nods, “If you wish, you could purchase that service; we’ll try to satisfy you.”

As she speaks, the maid’s palm extends, a black card appears between her fingers, then shoots toward the Queen of the Shadow Realm.

The Queen of the Shadow Realm’s pupils suddenly contract slightly; she instinctively reaches out to catch it, “Is that so… so my summoner’s unintended offense referred to this place, really there’s no helping it.”

“I look forward to your visit, guest.” The maid nods slightly, smiling, then passes by the Queen of the Shadow Realm with her bag of goods.

“I have visited before.” The Queen of the Shadow Realm suddenly turns, watching the maid’s silhouette, “You weren’t there at the time. If I remember correctly, the master back then seemed to be…”

“Ms. Scathach.”

The maid suddenly turns, interrupting the Queen of the Shadow Realm.

The other directly calls out her name, and at this moment, Scathach, the Queen of the Shadow Realm… facial expression freezes, hearing the other gazing lightly at her.

Instantly, Scathach feels an almost overwhelming will trying to erase her from everything… this will even surpasses the power of the ancient contract her true form is bound to.

But the maid suddenly smiles, making the frightening feeling vanish without a trace, “Do you want to try the roast meat from the shop ahead? It tastes quite good.”

“Thank you… for the suggestion.”

“You’re welcome.”

Until the maid’s silhouette vanishes, the Queen of the Shadow Realm suddenly grasps her arm, feeling the slight tremor there.

“Unexpectedly, unknowingly just…” Scathach suddenly bites her lip, her eyes gleaming with a smile: “Become excited.”

…

…

Trembling… as if but a fleeting illusion.

He slowly opens his eyes from his meditation, casting a glance at the bundle wrapped tightly in cloth strips, resembling a long stick.

“Gae-Bolg…” he mutters, “Why do you tremble.”

Lost in thought, suddenly a voice calls beside him, “Mr. Kuck, we will be landing in ten minutes, please prepare yourself.”

Outside, the sound of the wind was howling. At this moment, he was in high altitude—this journey had already lasted nearly twelve hours.

Not long ago, after the Paradise Island’s Michael Club headquarters dispatched ‘Wolf King’ Luo Bo of the Twelve Divine Generals to investigate the destruction of a division by unknown forces, ‘Wolf King’ Luo Bo suddenly went missing.

The club’s capabilities couldn’t find ‘Wolf King’ Luo Bo despite spending more than a month, and instead, two days ago, they received news about another small division under attack.

Therefore, this time, the club directly sent out Kuck.

At this moment, Kuck abruptly opened the helicopter’s cabin, looking downwards. The gale wildly blew his hair, and Kuck’s gaze turned somewhat cold.

Right then, the pilot in front suddenly said, “Mr. Kuck, received a notification, another branch has been attacked! The attackers have even penetrated the base, causing massive destruction!”

“Understood, hover. I’ll go down directly.” Kuck simply replied with a nod.

He raised his hand, and the spear Gae-Bolg instantly thrust out, while the cloth wrapped around it shattered in an instant!

…

Boom——!!!

A massive explosion.

The flame lit up everyone’s face.

In a narrow passageway, seven or eight men wielding machine guns were frantically shooting amidst the flames—their target was a woman in a black leather coat.

The bullets were incredibly powerful, as they were the specially made bullets provided to club members. However, these custom bullets couldn’t even touch the woman in the black coat!

Because the numerous bullets stopped in front of the woman, unable to advance further!

The woman wearing the black coat seemed to have an invisible wall in front of her… No, rather, there were bluish electrical arcs flickering around her at all times!

The electrical arcs woven into a net in front of her, stopping all the bullets aimed at her!

“Damn it! Take down that monster!!”

The men with guns were shouting frantically—yet the woman in the black coat was unmoved. She gently waved her hand, and a massive arc of electricity shot out into the air!

The arc of electricity traversed the passage, instantly causing all electronic equipment in the corridor to explode, and the men with guns screamed in agony as if struck by high voltage, their bodies getting charred… Finally, they fell to the ground.

Instantaneously, the passage became extraordinarily quiet.

The woman in the black coat slowly exhaled and then walked to the end of the corridor—a locked electronic door blocked her path.

She directly placed her palm on the electronic lock, the electricity discharged from her palm rendered the electronic lock useless.

Using both hands, she pried the door open!

Just at that moment, a loud noise erupted behind the door—it was the sound of gunfire!

A bullet shot towards her forehead at that instant, but she remained calm, her gaze focused, and numerous electrical arcs formed in the air, wrapping around the bullet completely.

The bullet ultimately halted right in front of her.

“Monster!”

The room was filled with surveillance equipment, akin to a combat command center. At this moment, a man in a black suit screamed in panic.

He saw firsthand how the bullet was stopped… stopped by such supernatural power!

Unable to fight back, there’s only escape! However, just as this thought flashed in his mind, the terrifying woman before him waved her hand, and the suspended bullet in the air instantly reflected out!

Ah——!!

The bullet penetrated his left knee, the acute pain distorted his entire face. He fell to the ground, cold sweat streaming, constantly retreating until he retreated no further—he was already against the control console.

The woman in the black coat walked up to the man, coldly saying, “Hand over the electronic key.”

“I… I don’t know what you’re talking about!”

“Every division head of the club, regardless of size, possesses a key. This key can open passageways allowing the network to directly connect to the mainframe of Paradise Island… Are you telling me you don’t know?”

“How did you…” The man’s heart shook as he gritted his teeth, “The head here left long ago! You’re mistaken, I don’t have such a thing.”

“Since you don’t have it, keeping you is useless, isn’t it.” She said calmly, then reached out.

Suddenly, a surge of electrical arcs gathered in her palm, then slowly stretched, forming a simple cross sword shape.

“I hope you can bear it.” The woman in the black coat sneered, then grasped the arc-formed ‘sword’ with both hands, intending to thrust it into the man’s chest.

“No——!!!!!”

In the moment when the man screamed in terror, the woman in the black coat suddenly stopped her hand and rolled sideways!

At the same time, a red light flashed by, an intricate dark red spear was already embedded in the control console.

“Who!”

The woman in the black coat suddenly looked toward the entrance, only to see a slightly weathered man calmly standing in the entrance.

The woman in the black coat furrowed her brows, her expression becoming more solemn, “Kuck? Michael Club’s Twelve Divine Generals… I didn’t expect you’d summon someone of your stature.”

Kuck was also scrutinizing the woman in the black coat, then walked into the room—clearly, this division seemed to have made some kind of mistake.

The perpetrator behind this division’s attack evidently wasn’t the same as the one ‘Wolf King’ Luo Bo was investigating last time—what Luo Bo was dealing with was the Princess from the ancient eastern Xuanyuan Royal Family.

But this one… seemed a bit familiar.

“You know me?” Kuck furrowed his brows, seriously examining the woman, “I think I’ve seen you somewhere before too.”

“Forgotten?” The woman in the black coat sneered, subtly retreating a step, “It doesn’t matter if you’ve forgotten… because the me now has nothing to do with the past. I’m merely an avenger.”

“An avenger, huh.” Kuck nodded, and with a gesture, the intricate dark red spear embedded in the control console flew back into his hand, “Then let me see how fierce the flames of your revenge are!”

The woman in the black coat took a deep breath.

Today I might die here… Ye Yan, are you alright?
