Chapter 961: Chapter 5: Suzuki Natsuya (Part 1)

It’s quite cold, so cold that you can see white mist when you breathe, and it’s raining.

There are many pedestrians on the street, probably because it’s the weekend… even though it’s raining now.

Men and men, women and women, boyfriends and girlfriends… About more than ten years ago, I was like this, too, keen on spending my youth on the street.

Youth…

Kumano suddenly had such a sigh.

“Hubby, hubby, are you listening?”

Actually, I was on my way home from work.

Kumano was on the phone with his wife, talking mainly about trivial life matters. Additionally, due to the weather these days, their child, who had just started elementary school, had some issues with his respiratory tract.

The child had congenital asthma from birth, inherited from the mother’s side.

Although his wife was nagging, after so many years, Kumano had gotten used to her nagging… Or rather, if there were a day he didn’t hear it, he would feel a bit strange.

“Why don’t we go to Hokkaido next month?” Kumano said to the phone, “It’s been a long time since we’ve traveled as a family.”

“Do you have time off? But if we really go to Hokkaido, we have to prepare well. If it’s still too cold by then, I’m worried the child won’t be able to take it.”

“That’s alright, I have a feeling we’ll have good luck.” Kumano laughed but suddenly paused.

On the other end of the phone, his wife was still talking, nagging non-stop, “Hubby? Are you not listening again?”

“Ah… sorry, sorry, I see someone here.” Kumano quickly responded to his wife, “Riko, I’ll call you back later, there’s something going on here.”

Kumano quickly hung up and looked at a certain place on the side of the road.

It was in front of a snack shop.

The snack shop owner might have gone out for something, the shop’s shutter was down, and at this moment, a man was squatting in front of the shutter.

The man squatted on the ground, hugging his knees and burying his head between his thighs, dressed unusually thinly, with a carry-on luggage bag placed beside him.

“Are you alright?” Kumano walked over, with one hand resting on his knee, bending down, while the umbrella in his hand tilted forward.

He raised his head, slightly opened his eyes, as if he had been woken from a nap.

“Are you okay?” Kumano asked again.

It took a while for the other guy to come back to his senses, blinking, “Uncle, do I know you?”

“…It’s not a matter of knowing each other or not, right?” Kumano shook his head, “In this weather, you’re here all alone, wearing so little, you’re bound to stir some curiosity, right?”

“Huh? It’s raining, when did it…” The man looked at the rain, neither too small nor too big, in surprise.

Kumano opened his mouth… This guy might have frozen his brain.

But at that moment, it seemed like something was coming out of the man’s arms—it was a tabby cat.

The tabby cat crawled out from the man’s clothes, then jumped to the ground, and quickly dashed across the road, disappearing soon after.

“Your cat ran away, is that okay?” Kumano found it odd the man had no intention of chasing the cat.

“It’s not mine.” The man shook his head, “Picked it up this morning, looked like it was dying, thought I’d see if I could save it. Oh! Pretty lively now… It’s really good!”

“You… you didn’t happen to be squatting here since the morning, did you?” Kumano asked in bewilderment.

“Yeah, why, is there a problem?” The man looked puzzled.

“Are you an idiot… it’s just a tabby cat, might not even be a stray.” Kumano couldn’t help but frown.

Unexpectedly, the man suddenly stood up, looking fierce, scaring Kumano into stepping back repeatedly, “You… what are you trying to do?”

“You’re the idiot! I’m already graduated from junior high!” The man shouted loudly.

“Ha…” Kumano was taken aback by this.

Unexpectedly, the man’s shout was so loud, people on the street could hear it. Instantly, there were scattered low chortles all around.

The man probably still had some sense of shame, and seeing this, he glared fiercely at the crowd—admittedly, though the man was handsome, his glare was terrifying, like a beast.

The crowd dispersed.

The man snorted coldly, didn’t bother with Kumano anymore, and picked up the luggage bag on the ground—at that moment, the man’s stomach grumbled loudly.

The man rubbed his stomach, stretched his hand into his pocket, rummaged around, and when he finally took it out, only a few leftover coins remained.

The man swallowed, sighed, and put the coins back into the pocket, took a deep breath, ready to leave.

“Would you like to eat okonomiyaki?”

Suddenly, the man heard Kumano’s voice.

He instinctively looked at the uncle, only to see the uncle point across the street to a store, then made a drinking gesture, smiled, “If you don’t mind, please keep me company for a couple of drinks.”

…

“Hahaha, running away from home! Truly is youth, Suzuki!”

Maybe it’s because when you reach this age, the more you drink the more you talk—it’s the kind of atmosphere in teppanyaki stores.

Kumano already learned the guy’s name was Suzuki, he ran away from home due to a fight with family—such things are quite common, actually.

“Running away from home, I did that when I was a kid too.” Kumano touched his glass, said somewhat nostalgically.

“Uncle, you tried that too.” Suzuki lifted his head in curiosity.

At this moment, Kumano waved his hand, “But only gone for a few days… home is actually the best.”

Suzuki didn’t speak, merely buried his head eating the third serving of steaming hot okonomiyaki just served.

“So, you’ve got nowhere to go now?” Kumano hiccuped, suddenly asked.

Suzuki slightly lifted his head, glanced, shook his head, then tucked his head and ate.

At this moment, Kumano laughed, “Hey, how about I introduce you to a job, to do temporarily?”

“Me?” Suzuki asked, surprised, lifting his head again.

“Are you running away from home? Since you’re running away, it means you really need to be self-reliant. In that case, you can’t not look for a job… How about it? A waiter at a club, I’ll pay you hourly, want to do it?”

“I’ll do it!” Suzuki nodded vigorously, continuously nodding his head.

…

…

A huge sign above the door read Takizawa.

Suzuki Natsuya frowned… this place was much larger than his home, and he couldn’t be bothered to estimate the exact size.

Kenji and Takashi said nothing provocative, knowing better this time—because on the way here, this monster of a man had really beaten them up.

The two had an understanding that revenge was not urgent; even if this man was strong, within the Takizawa home, he was no more than a child.

They were not truly part of the Takizawa Family, only Young Master Feng was—within the Takizawa home, Kenji and Takashi were equivalent to servants. Only those bearing the Takizawa surname possessed astonishingly powerful, unknown abilities.

Of course, Kenji and Takashi also had the chance to gain this power. As long as they were chosen by the Takizawa main family and underwent the ‘baptism’… This was why they were willing to serve Young Master Feng.

“The child is inside?” Suzuki Natsuya frowned.

He had beast-like intuition—that intuition made him feel uneasy just standing in front of this large door.

“Yes, the child is inside, in Young Master Feng’s yard.” Takashi sneered, “You’d better hurry, otherwise even if you see him, he might just be a corpse!”

“Hmm, I’ll find a good place to bury the child,” Suzuki nodded, very seriously saying, “Then let you accompany him, consider it a favor to you.”

Takashi and Kenji’s expressions immediately became grim… this guy was simply a thoughtless beast!

“If you have the guts, then go in, go in!” Kenji raised his voice, suddenly swinging open a small side door next to the Takizawa house’s main gate.

As soon as the side door opened, Kenji and Takashi suddenly rushed in with incredible speed that even Suzuki couldn’t immediately react to.

Suzuki was stunned for a moment, then also walked through the side door, but Kenji and Takashi were nowhere to be seen.

“Where are they?” Suzuki frowned.

At this moment, something suddenly dropped towards Suzuki Natsuya from above—a giant net!

Not only that, at each corner of the net, several men grabbed onto it simultaneously.

Even Suzuki Natsuya’s monstrous strength couldn’t tear the net immediately, and the several men holding the net fully controlled his movements.

“So, you really are an idiot… If you dared to break into the Takizawa house, we will definitely entertain you well.”

From the shadows, Kenji coldly chuckled as he walked out, putting a sharp finger tiger on his hand.

Suzuki Natsuya suddenly stopped struggling and looked ahead.

In front, buildings layered upon buildings stood tall like mountains, the highest being something resembling a castle.

This Takizawa house really is big.

…

…

Deep in the mountains, the Takizawa Family, rather than a home, was more like a giant village—with various buildings enclosed within its massive walls.

The car entered from the outermost gate, then had to follow the mountain road for some time before reaching the Takizawa main house—an ancient castle fortress standing like the peak of the mountains.

Of course, along the way, there were already many luxurious mansion buildings.

Not without reason was this ancient family behind the scenes holding significant influence over the country’s political scene… ‘Haruxin Suzuki’ coldly gazed at the place below that could completely be called ‘Takizawa Village.’

“Father, are the people living down there all members of the Takizawa Clan?” ‘Haruxin Suzuki’ asked curiously.

Suzuki Yuuichi said, “Not basically. There are very few side branches of the Takizawa family living below; the rest are the families of servants. The rules of the Takizawa Family are very strict— even direct descendants can be expelled if they lack talent. Conversely, if someone talented appears in the side branches, they can be promoted to the main family.”

‘Haruxin Suzuki’ nodded.

Not long after, the car stopped in front of the castle gate.

It was already late… almost midnight.

Planning to ‘have a look’ at Suzuki Natsuya tonight to fulfill Haruxin Suzuki’s wish would have to be postponed… Yamata no Orochi thought for a moment and decided to spend more time tonight researching the details of the Takizawa Family.

From the moment it entered the mountain gate, it had an uncomfortable feeling… this place was not as simple as it seemed on the surface.

“Though it’s subtle, there seems to be a cold power contained here. It may be far from your and my peak levels, but still… it’s best to be cautious.”

In the shadows, Lian Zhen’s voice suddenly sounded. ‘Haruxin Suzuki’ furtively glanced at his own shadow, then nodded.

At this time, the large gate opened, and an old man followed by two kimono-clad girls slowly walked out.

Suzuki Yuuichi whispered in his son’s ear, “This is Shuofu Takizawa, the butler of the Takizawa main family, considered a major figure in the Takizawa Family.”

‘Haruxin Suzuki’ nodded while discreetly probing Shuofu Takizawa’s truth—of course, as an Elder Chen who played with souls, his means of probing were naturally very subtle.

“Welcome, Mr. Suzuki.” Butler Shuofu Takizawa slightly smiled, very humbly giving a bow.

Suzuki Yuuichi returned the gesture and politely said, “I’m glad to see you again, Takizawa butler.”

“Not at all.” Shuofu Takizawa slightly smiled, though white-haired, he appeared to be quite robust.

But at this moment, a ‘clang clang’ sound suddenly rang out from below the mountain.

Suzuki Yuuichi and ‘Haruxin Suzuki’ curiously looked over… a sound like someone beating a watchman’s drum?

“Heh, it’s probably some little thief who doesn’t know their limits breaking in, don’t worry, the security team will handle it. Please rest assured,” Shuofu Takizawa said casually.

“Is there really someone daring enough to break in here?” ‘Haruxin Suzuki’ curiously asked.

For such questions, Shuofu Takizawa showed no displeasure—it seemed such questions were within the limits of what was allowed.

As such, the Takizawa Family’s butler warmly smiled and said, “There are always various curious people, some of whom come with bad intentions. The sound just heard twice signifies an ordinary event, which will be quickly resolved.”

“I see.” ‘Haruxin Suzuki’ nodded.

Unexpectedly, just as the conversation ended, three consecutive ‘clang clang clang’ sounds suddenly echoed from below the mountain!

It seemed the ordinary event had escalated… Suzuki Yuuichi and ‘Haruxin Suzuki’ clearly saw the Takizawa Family’s butler’s eyebrows slightly furrow.
