Chapter 955: Chapter 199: Sin (4)

“Faith?”

Listening to Scathach’s words, Lucifer once again cast a glance at Bucky who was lying on the ground. This time, Her Majesty the Queen of Hell genuinely furrowed her brows.

Scathach said, “Are you saying you can’t see it now?”

Lucifer could only shake his head and say with some helplessness, “Although my knowledge and memories aren’t lacking, my current body is no different from an ordinary human. I not only have physiological needs but also feel hunger. But what’s even more ridiculous is that my blood still contains power.”

“What an incredible means of confinement.” Scathach, upon hearing this, also shook her head helplessly, “This probably entirely separates your spirit from your power, yet at the same time, blends them into an independent entity.”

This is Lucifer, one of the most high-ranking kings in Hell, aside from the abyss, yet so easily…

Lucifer fell silent for a moment—she could basically explain everything in this world, but she feared she couldn’t explain the true intention behind the power that confined her.

She couldn’t, and perhaps It couldn’t either.

Maybe It would know more; otherwise, back then…

“What are you thinking about?” Scathach’s gaze suddenly sharpened, “Or have you thought of something?”

Lucifer said indifferently, “Just recalling some old stories, nothing much… let’s get back to this guy’s business. Scathach, what do you think?”

As a summoned spirit, Scathach often cannot go against the summoner’s will—of course, historically, there have been cases of summoned spirits rebelling and succeeding, but those were just opportunistic summoners getting themselves into trouble by summoning spirits far beyond their rank.

As for Lucifer… this Queen of Hell, in terms of rank, was even higher than her.

“Look at these.”

At this moment, Scathach quickly picked up on Lucifer’s words and grabbed Bucky’s arm, “On the way back, I carefully examined it. The reason he could use spells imbued with holy power was by using these two rings on his hand. Moreover, he’s wearing a hidden Legal Crown on his head. This crown is quite interesting, as it can continuously absorb the power of faith, and internally, it seems there’s a tiny, growing subspace…”

Lucifer also examined the two rings on Bucky’s hand, her expression becoming serious, “These are not artifacts that modern magic technology can create. Looking at the patterns on the rings, they resemble products from the ancient Babylonian era… Scathach, can you make the Legal Crown on his head visible?”

The Queen of the Shadow Realm didn’t answer, merely extending her hand to tap Bucky’s forehead lightly—immediately, a green Legal Crown woven of olive branches emerged from Bucky’s forehead.

Lucifer attempted to remove the Legal Crown, but ultimately failed.

“I also tried to take this Legal Crown off for detailed research, but it seems completely bound to this guy’s Soul… although it can be forcibly separated, intuition tells me if we forcefully remove it, it will be troublesome… Lord Lucifer, do you recognize this crown?”

Lucifer’s face at this time was terrifyingly gloomy, as she stared intently at the Legal Crown on Bucky’s head, murmuring, “You must be joking, wasn’t this thing already… Tower of Babel!”

“Tower of Babel?” Scathach opened her mouth in surprise, puzzled, “The Babel Tower? This crown is the legendary Babel Tower?”

Lucifer nodded, “That was a long time ago, when mortals wanted to build a road to heaven, so they created this Babel Tower. Its existence offended It, and heaven finally rained down anger… and the one who executed the judgment was the past me.”

“You destroyed the Tower of Babel, but it’s appearing once again?” Scathach furrowed her brow, “Then what you destroyed before might not have been the real Tower of Babel?”

“No, I personally destroyed the Babel Tower.” Lucifer shook her head, “Those Babylonians were clever, even touching upon God’s Forbidden Area, but as individuals, fundamentally, they were still a vast gap from beings like us… I fear within the subspace created by this Legal Crown lies another tower to heaven. It might be a replica of the original Tower of Babel, or a backup defective piece… Bucky, oh Bucky, I once granted you a lucky charm, yet never expected your luck would be so incredibly good one day… or should I say, my luck?”

“Lord Lucifer?” Scathach called softly, recognizing that Lucifer seemed somewhat manic at this moment.

“I can hear you, Scathach.”

Lucifer took a deep breath and coldly smiled, “Something that can nullify my contract entirely, grant Bucky another Babel Tower, even allow him in his partially demon-transformed state to naturally use opposing attributes’ power… and also the punishment I received when I went after Bucky, isn’t it all quite apparent by now?”

“As expected.” Scathach shook her head, then said helplessly, “This is probably the worst scenario, Lord Lucifer… With Its existence, guests will be sheltered.”

Yet Lucifer indifferently smiled, then directly stepped on Bucky’s face with her foot, squinting her eyes, “Who said I wanted to deal with Bucky… This guy, I was only willing to offer him such a level of contract because he was useful back then. Compared to his situation now, the significance of wanting his soul wasn’t as great… Babel Tower, the path to heaven. Bucky, you truly brought me something very, very good, how should I reward you?”

“Babel Tower… I see.” Scathach looked indifferently at Lucifer, “The goal is… heaven, huh.”

“Queen of the Shadow Realm, as a semi-god, undying and immortal, do you possess the courage to challenge the one at the apex of that divine pyramid?”

Scathach fell silent for a long time, slowly saying, “It is worth attempting.”

“Ah… I am gradually forming an idea in my heart now.”

At this moment, Lucifer stepped on a few more times forcefully, “Let me perfect it well. Scathach, why don’t we first send this lucky fellow back? The Babel Tower was originally birthed by consuming the faith of thousands, and now this one, without consuming enough, won’t grow either.”

“This may require consuming an enormous amount of faith.”

Scathach knew this was likely a long process—after all, for the undying and immortal her and Lucifer, no amount of time is meaningless—only when the purpose becomes significant is it enough.

“Then let’s feed it as much as possible…”

Lucifer smiled, “How about a new religion that can contend with It’s legacy in the mortal world… Let’s elevate Bucky to a true pedestal!”

Completely unaware of being schemed by these two age-old monsters, Bucky suddenly turned over, then reached out to scratch his behind, drooling at the mouth, evidently sleeping soundly, very soundly.

…

“Achoo—!!”

Suddenly sneezing, Bucky felt his whole body shudder, but simultaneously awoke—after waking, Bucky found himself seemingly on a rooftop.

At the same time, his clothes were all gone, leaving only a pair of boxers—even so, considering the current scorching weather, he shouldn’t be feeling cold, right?

It felt as if he had been thrown into an ice cellar, frozen for hours? But speaking of which… why was he stripped of clothes and left on a rooftop—looking down from here, wasn’t this the rooftop of the hotel where the birthday banquet was being held?

Roof… Bucky gazed around himself, suddenly shivering again. This time it wasn’t due to the cold, but because a particularly bad memory abruptly resurfaced in his mind.

It seems like I was once dumped on the rooftop, starving and freezing, almost lost my life then… Could it be that this time it’s also the arm of that black, black maid?

Bucky suddenly jolted, jumped up, and then scrambled to look around—until he couldn’t see a single figure, only then did he stop.

Just at that moment, the phone rang out in the dim light. Bucky got startled, but found a cell phone on the ground—and it was his own.

This left Bucky cold and bewildered—not knowing how he passed out, not knowing who took off his clothes, and then actually leaving the phone behind just like that.

“Emissary! Emissary! Can you hear me?”

Upon answering the call, it was Mr. Besong’s voice… Bucky frowned, and then directly asked: “Besong, what happened?”

“Did anything happen?” Mr. Besong curiously asked on the other end of the phone: “Saint Flan Mister told me, tonight you would be discussing life with Miss Cosini and feeling a bit tired afterward, so you took a break. But it’s already late now, we should be heading back, so I had to call you.”

Discuss your sister…

No, I absolutely didn’t touch that chick, initially wanted to ask questions, but how did I suddenly collapse… That chick should be under a Charm Spell, shouldn’t resist, right?

Bucky instinctively rubbed the back of his neck, feeling a bit uncomfortable there… Could it be because lying on the ground for too long, got a stiff neck or something?

“Ming… Where is Saint Flan now?” Bucky suddenly asked.

“Oh, Saint Flan Mister is still at the hotel, he probably drank too much at the banquet, now he’s taking a rest.” Mr. Besong hurriedly said: “Oh, Miss Cosini also showed up later, and expressed to me that under your inspiration, she is very willing to join us.”

What’s going on?

Could it be that this is Mingo messing around behind my back?

Bucky instinctively reached out and felt his face, and quickly pulled off a thin membrane from it—this thing was attached to his face by some kind of power, normally people wouldn’t say it was removed, couldn’t even detect it.

This thing is still there, meaning his identity hasn’t been discovered by Mingo?

Or not… If they could knock me out without anyone noticing, it’s probably beyond ordinary people, right? Could it be, Mingo also has some special encounter, perhaps even like mine?

If I have it, why couldn’t Mingo have it?

Thinking this way, Bucky wanted to directly go after Mingo and throw him a Charm Spell, but suddenly dispelled the idea.

“Emissary? Emissary?”

“Stop calling! Get over here right now!” Bucky was somewhat irritated: “I’m right here on the hotel’s rooftop! Hurry up, and bring me a set of clothes!”

“Yes! I’m coming right away!”

Not long after, Bucky hurriedly returned to his manor in the car he came in.

…

Meanwhile, news about the ‘Messenger of God’ reappearing and leaving quickly was first conveyed to the resting ears of Saint Flan Mister.

“We don’t know how much this envoy knows from you, but obviously, I still have to personally meet him.” Saint Flan Mister looked at Cosini and calmly said: “Perhaps we could directly talk about cooperation.”

“But, will he comply like this?” Cosini held a doubtful attitude.

“Creating such a church, collecting money from believers, playing with female believers, isn’t the goal already clear enough?” Saint Flan said calmly at this time: “If he can help me ascend to the throne of this country, then I can give him a lot of space to grow, it’s just mutual exploitation, since there’s profit to be gained, why would a smart person refuse?”

“So do I still need to go?” Cosini asked again.

Saint Flan Mister sneered a few times then gently grasped Cosini’s chin, “Of course, and I will personally send you there.”

…

Bang—!!

In the manor, the door to the ‘Messenger of God’s’ bedroom was suddenly pushed open, only to see the emissary directly walk in, drive out all the waiting girls inside, and shut the door.

Bucky pulled all the curtains in the bedroom, then once again checked all the doors and windows were locked, ensuring there was no one hiding, before diving under the bed.

He pried open the floor under the bed, then took out the club Pad from a hidden compartment below, directly going into the special request interface.

“Hmm… Consultation project… Here! Please enter the question you need consultation for? OK!” Bucky licked his lips and typed directly: Is Mingo an ordinary human?

“Damn… this question costs 50 units? So greedy, right?”

Though feeling a bit pained, Bucky directly bought the answer—the answer was, Mingo is an ordinary person.

“No, if not Mingo, who is it then?” Bucky frowned and reluctantly entered the question again: Who is the culprit that knocked me out and dumped me on the rooftop tonight?

Then, Bucky suddenly widened his eyes. Because he saw how purchasing the answer to this question required a consumption of faith units.

One hundred thousand units!

“Dumping me on the rooftop, leaving me freezing, such tactics are too obvious! I know it’s definitely you, the black black guy! Definitely trying to swindle all my faith from me!! I won’t fall for it!”

I, Bucky, am astute!

Bucky suddenly raised his head, then directly bumped into the bed board…
