Chapter 940: Chapter 184: Club Tablet

We are very prone to overlooking pain.

The flowers left outside the municipal opera house have long withered and been cleaned up, and the commemorative words written by the crowds mourning at the opera house wall have also been erased.

Outside, the streets are bustling with traffic, and the renovation work inside the opera house is nearing completion. Likely in another week, the opera house will be able to reopen.

Saint Fran stood at the third-floor balcony, surveying the entire stage of the opera house, silent and somewhat intimidating—he couldn’t find what he wanted.

On the day Roger hijacked the opera house, it was unknown whose hands he died at. By the time he arrived, the key that Roger carried had disappeared, but the document recording the nuclear warhead was found.

Since the document was eventually found by Saint Fran, it indicated that the fact Roger had a nuclear warhead in his possession hadn’t been exposed—so why couldn’t the key be found?

Given the situation at the time, since the key couldn’t be found on Roger and there was no sign of its secret being taken away, Saint Fran could only think that Roger hid it somewhere in the opera house.

Therefore, he immediately had the place secretly monitored and immediately funded the renovation of the opera house under the guise of a philanthropist.

No one came during this time, and the government used some methods to interrogate the bandits from that day, ultimately gathering intelligence and capturing all of Roger’s remnants—it could be said that the possibility of the key leaking was extremely low.

“Where on earth…” Saint Fran placed his hands on the railing of the balcony, frowning.

The search of the opera house, although not to the extent of digging three feet deep, was thorough enough to inspect even all the seats.

“Father.”

Suddenly, a voice called from behind Saint Fran, and he turned around—it was Cosini.

Saint Fran glanced at his watch, then calmly said, “You’re late.”

Cosini apologized, “I’m sorry, Father. There was a situation on the way. I had to take care of some small fry before I got here.”

“The ones from the anti-narcotics side?” Saint Fran frowned.

Cosini said, “They’ve been persistent recently, but today I’ve followed your instructions, ceased all operations, and told those big shots not to sell anything for now… they’ve all agreed. I’ll lie low for a while.”

Saint Fran nodded, then sneered, “The neighboring country sure is good at false accusations… they had an issue themselves and yet blamed it on me. Never mind, I’ll bring down their economy sooner or later!”

“What do we do next?” Cosini asked seriously.

Saint Fran continued to sneer, “Let the factory workers work overtime and produce in large quantities for me!”

Cosini was puzzled, “We’ve stopped the operations but still need to produce in large quantities?”

Saint Fran calmly said, “Since they’ve already pinned the blame on me, I might as well turn something that didn’t exist into reality. If I can’t do business here, I’ll do it over there… just to collect some early interest! Hospitals with patients like zombies from drug addiction? I’ll turn their entire society into real ‘zombies’!”

As Saint Fran spoke, he suddenly let out a strange laugh, then walked up to Cosini and lifted her hair, “Go get dressed up; next, accompany me to meet someone.”

Cosini showed a confused expression.

Saint Fran said, “Go see a certain charlatan that’s been the talk of high society lately.”

Cosini said, “Father, do you mean the ‘Messenger of God’ from the ‘Baji Divine Religion’?”

Saint Fran nodded, “‘Baji Divine Religion’… I’ve been looking for Bucky, and yet this Messenger of God suddenly popped up, never showing his true face… interesting, interesting.”

Cosini hurriedly said, “Father, do you think this Messenger of God is actually Bucky himself?”

Saint Fran shook his head, “Not necessarily. I’ll have to meet him in person to know for sure. If he truly is Bucky, with my understanding of this slippery character, he won’t be able to hide it—but it doesn’t matter whether he is Bucky or not, one thing is for certain now.”

Looking at Cosini, who was listening intently, Saint Fran expressionlessly said, “This church currently wields an unimaginable influence… its followers are almost all high society elites, and lately, even some high-ranking officials have secretly joined.”

Cosini was shocked, “Even officials are… how could the government allow this to happen?”

Saint Fran sneered, “That’s the peculiar part. The government… especially the security departments seem entirely unconcerned about this, which makes me suspect that someone is supporting this church from behind.”

“If that’s the case, then this Messenger of God indeed seems worth getting to know,” Cosini nodded, “Father, your ultimate goal is to ascend to the presidency of this country. If you have the support of a large number of high society figures and officials…”

Saint Fran gently touched Cosini’s face and suddenly said, “I heard that this Messenger of God is quite fond of female followers’ offerings. You should go dress up.”

Cosini silently nodded.

…

…

Manor.

It has changed from the original villa of Mr. Besong, an ordinary wealthy man, to a grand manor—of course, this manor was provided free of charge by another follower for the ‘Messenger of God’ to reside in.

Nearly all of them here are young and beautiful girls, resembling a Women’s Country—especially the place where blessings are given to followers, which has been remodeled to seem like a temple’s hall.

At this moment, in this blessing hall, the ‘Messenger of God’ sat on a specially crafted large chair, surrounded by several beautiful young girls.

These beautiful girls were chosen through multiple levels of selection, and they were also required to wear uniform gauze dresses to symbolize purity.

There are all sorts of ceremonies, and recently, even rituals have become elaborate, with Mr. Besong, the first to be named a Divine Servant, now compiling the daily words of the ‘Messenger of God’ and beginning to edit the doctrine of the church.

No one expected…

Baji, seated on the ‘Divine Throne,’ sighed—originally, he just wanted a comfortable life, but unexpectedly developed into becoming a ‘Messenger of God’ whose word was law.

He didn’t even need to do much every day, just cast some Blessing Spells, and he could comfortably wait for the faith of followers to be credited. Next, he only needed to use this faith to buy some things from the club.

For example, purchasing that irresistible meat, or recently buying a Charm Spell to make these followers more devout from the heart—although it seems that after using the Charm Spell, the faith still generates, but the quality seems to have diminished.

However, given that the number of followers is growing rapidly, the decrease in quality is temporarily unimportant compared to the increase in quantity, right?

“I wonder if, when faith increases a bit more, I can buy a Devil to play with?” Baji now rubbed his chin, feeling a bit eager.

Of course, he didn’t want to play with ordinary Devils—because of his previous contract with Lucifer, Baji had played some stimulating bed games with the offspring of a few low-level Devils and humans, but it came at the cost of needing half a month to recuperate each time.

If he’s going to play, of course, it has to be at Charlotte’s level… ideally, Charlotte herself.

Now, Baji stood up from his ‘Divine Throne.’ It seems that due to the continuous purchase of that magical meat, Baji felt his body becoming exceptionally strong.

He originally didn’t have much muscle, but now, after taking off his clothes, he could see the distinct muscle contours.

Several young girls were sitting on the ground, leaning against Baji’s leg, their eyes filled with admiration… anyway, since no one was around, Baji was thinking about exploring life with these young girls when he heard crisp footsteps coming from below the hall.

In maid attire, You Ye slowly walked forward, her black leather shoes tapped on the floor with each step.

Baji glanced at the young girls beside him, noticing that they seemed petrified… He shook his head and then instantly removed his face mask, stepping down from the ‘Divine Throne.’

“Isn’t this the esteemed Ms. You Ye?” Baji spread his arms—not intending to hug the maid, but simply expressing a welcome.

I wonder, when the Power of Faith is accumulated enough, when not just playing with Charlotte is possible, if perhaps…

A trace of greed flashed in Baji’s eyes.

But instantly, Baji felt a sense of suffocation, as if death was looming before him, causing his heart to race and sweat to break out in cold.

You Ye calmly observed Baji at this moment, “Were you thinking about something odd just now?”

Baji shivered abruptly, quickly flattering, “I was just thinking about how lucky your boss is to have a beautiful maid like you by his side!”

The maid smiled slightly, not looking at Baji, just raising her head to examine the decor here.

Baji quietly wiped away cold sweat, his eyes shifted, “Ms. You Ye, actually, next time you don’t need to immobilize these girls when you come by. They are already my charmed slaves, and they won’t react even if they see you… they are now just my playthings.”

“Next time might be a long while.” You Ye shook her head at this moment.

Baji was stunned, realizing something, suddenly surprised, “A long while? Why… Ms. You Ye, are you leaving? That’s not okay! If you leave, what am I supposed to do?”

You Ye said calmly, “My master only let me assist you as your aide, and looking at how your church has developed, there are some results, and your fanatical believers will assist you well, so I won’t provide any more gratuitous help in the future.”

“This… this…” Baji frowned, quickly weighing in his mind, finally reluctantly nodding, “Alright then…”

At this moment, You Ye added, “But rest assured, even though we will temporarily leave, we won’t let you be unable to buy things.”

As she spoke, You Ye waved her hand, and suddenly a tablet appeared in front of Baji.

Baji picked it up, somewhat puzzled, looking at You Ye.

“Specially prepared for you. After you open it, there will be some items I’ve sorted that are useful for you. If you want to make purchases, just click—this tablet can be considered as a mobile purchasing terminal for our store.”

“So convenient…” Baji marvelled, beginning to operate the tablet interface, noticing a string of numbers at the top-right corner of the screen, he subconsciously counted, “ones, tens, hundreds, thousands, ten-thousands…”

“No need to count.” The maid said calmly, “The numbers above represent the faith units you currently possess. This tablet is linked to your Legal Crown, and can automatically calculate your faith unit quota. You’re currently viewing a general list of goods, but there’s also a special goods interface—special goods require separate negotiation for pricing.”

Baji fiddled for a while, suddenly spotting the magical meat he liked on this general goods list, and without hesitation clicked the icon.

It even popped up a selection box for quantity… The maximum for a single purchase seems to be 99.

Baji thought for a moment, directly choosing two portions, then pressed the confirmation button—previously, a single portion cost 50 units, so two portions totaling 100 units seemed fine.

After Baji finished the selection, a halo suddenly appeared above his head, then two pieces of fresh meat dropped down directly. Baji caught them with one hand, a smile of joy appearing, “This is just too convenient!”

But Baji’s expression quickly stiffened, frowned, “Ms. You Ye, is there a bug in this terminal? Why did it deduct 107 units of faith from me? Clearly, two portions were only supposed to be 100 units!”

“The extra is the delivery fee.” You Ye looked at Baji, coldly saying, “Baji, have you heard of complimentary delivery services? Or is there something you’re dissatisfied with?”

“No, none! Absolutely none!” Baji quickly shook his head.

“That’s good.” The maid gave a charming smile.

Watching this caused Baji’s breathing to speed up—not because he had any thoughts about this beautiful smile, but because he knew just how terrifying the implications behind this woman’s smile could be…

“Alright, that’s it for today. Make good use of your mobile terminal. If it breaks, repairing it also incurs fees.”

“I understand.” Baji nodded.

The maid now turned and left, finally easing Baji, but unexpectedly, before departing, the maid suddenly turned and quickly said, “Oh right, I forgot to tell you one thing. This terminal isn’t given to you; it’s rented to you. Monthly rent is eight hundred faith units… So, work hard.”

Listening, Baji felt something amiss, only reacting after You Ye had left, “Damn!! There’s a rental fee!!!”
