Chapter 905: Chapter 149: Dawn of the Living Dead (3)

Although the guess in their hearts is such, the truth of the matter is not the most important thing for Queen Elizabeth and Zhong Luoyue – because the movements of the zombies at this moment undoubtedly create a great opportunity for them.

If these zombies are all gathered together, then killing them would be much more convenient, and there’s no need to worry about any slipping through the net.

Because Zhong Luoyue has already transformed into a bloodsucker, she doesn’t suffer from the zombie attacks, and she has already killed a few zombies alone along the way, now entering into a state that she cannot quite explain.

Perhaps… the seed of slaughter lies hidden in everyone’s heart.

But at this moment, Zhong Luoyue’s phone suddenly rang… It was a call from Ouyang Jie.

On the other end, Ouyang Jie’s voice was very anxious, saying that he had encountered people who were biting others like zombies.

“I’m just glad you’re okay.”

In the ward, Ouyang Jie leaned left beside the sickbed, feeling the cold floor beneath him. While contacting Zhong Luoyue, he looked down at his leg.

There was a wound on his leg with blood gushing out, causing him to frown… This was originally the place where he was crushed during the castle collapse, and now he got bitten fiercely several times.

At this moment, Ouyang Jie simply used his neck to hold the phone, then took the bandage from the bedside cabinet and started to wrap up his wound, as he recalled the thrilling and horrifying scene from a few minutes ago!

To Ouyang Jie, the fates of Tu Shenyi and Uncle Jin were uncertain, so he couldn’t sleep peacefully. Feeling slightly agitated, he suddenly heard screams from outside the curtain.

Before Ouyang Jie could react, he saw a figure suddenly burst through the curtain around his sickbed, attacking him like a rabid patient, and then took a bite at his leg wound.

Ouyang Jie’s leg injury made him immobile, so he could only struggle on the sickbed, but for some unknown reason, this ‘thing’ suddenly quieted down, stopped attacking him, and even voluntarily left.

Terrified, Ouyang Jie flipped open the curtain, seeing all the sickbeds of the ward filled with murdered patients… They had numerous bloody bites forcibly created on their bodies!

Ouyang Jie believed he wasn’t having a terrible nightmare but rather a scene from a film happening vividly right before his eyes.

“Are you really okay? Are you hurt?” Zhong Luoyue asked with slight concern.

Ouyang Jie casually said, “Nothing serious, but I can’t move conveniently right now… and your bodyguard is dead too, right in front of me, and I was powerless.”

“Everyone is powerless, now is not the time for self-blame,” Zhong Luoyue said gravely, “You have mobility issues, try to find a place to hide and take care of yourself, I will think of a way to rescue you.”

“Okay, you be careful too,” Ouyang Jie nodded hurriedly.

He didn’t know the situation outside the ward, but he could hear numerous gunshots and terrified screams… Outside the ward, it’s probably already in chaos, far beyond his imagination.

At this time, Zhong Luoyue is probably not able to care for herself either, so whether her words about coming to rescue him were genuine or perfunctory, he had no choice but to believe.

Ouyang Jie supported himself on the wall to stand up, then quickly lunged to the door of the ward, shutting the door tight. Afterward, he took the gun left by his already dead bodyguard – originally, there were two bodyguards left, but one seemed to flee early seeing the situation turning bad.

Leaning against the ward door, Ouyang Jie slid down to sit on the ground, then wiped off the cold sweat from his forehead, and before him were the corpses of the dead.

This scene seemed familiar.

Seven or eight years old… perhaps even older, nine years old. That was long ago – events after he ran out from the orphanage.

That night, after leaving the oppressive orphanage, Ouyang Jie wandered the streets alone, tired and hungry, regretting leaving the orphanage – in fact, people in the orphanage treated him well, but for some reason, he just wanted to leave those walls.

Suddenly, a gang war erupted on the streets at night, killing many people with corpses everywhere, blood was everywhere, he was very scared and hid away.

Later a man came, saving him, who was almost dying in the gang conflict. The man spoke nothing, just took him to a massive castle.

He told the young Ouyang Jie that his name was Uncle Jin.

…

…

“Uncle Wu!!”

Luckily, while rushing out of the corridor, Luo Qiu’s group met Uncle Wu, who had gone to find the on-duty doctor not long ago.

This allowed Song Ying to breathe a sigh of relief… Uncle Wu wasn’t injured, just seemed a bit embarrassed, his tidy hair turned messy.

“Miss Ying!”

“Don’t say anything, we are just going to meet with uncle,” Song Ying decisively said.

Uncle Wu nodded, glanced at Luo Qiu quickly, then voluntarily moved to the end of the team to take up the rear guard role.

“It’s strange, have you noticed that we haven’t met any zombies along this way?”

Despite this, Song Ying was still not relaxed at all… while Gan Hong said, “Not just that, it seems the gunfire has also stopped.”

“Look!”

In the team, originally elite guard Ahu pointed out of the corridor window nervously.

Below, a group of zombies began crawling out like ants leaving a hive, slowly emerging from different locations, and after gathering, moved together toward one direction.

“What… exactly are they doing?” Uncle Wu muttered in confusion.

Luo Qiu glanced strangely downstairs… He indeed intended to ‘normalize’ these zombies, making them stop attacking people, what follows is naturally not his concern.

Human weapons are enough to deal with these ‘normalized’ zombies.

Yet before he truly took action, these zombies seemed already ‘normalized’… controlled by a very covert force, a force that felt very familiar to Luo Qiu.

Luo Qiu frowned slightly.

The rest were startled by the group of gathered zombies below, and Luo Qiu quietly took a step back at this moment.

Like a cicada shedding its shell, another Luo Qiu ‘peeled’ from his body, while the remaining ‘shell’ gently closed its eyes.

After shedding the ‘shell’, Luo Qiu directly sank his body… all the way to the first floor of the building.

He wasn’t too worried about the safety of Song Ying and others because under his surveillance, the zombies transformed within the hospital had already been ‘normalized’ and gathered.

At this moment, Gan Hong was the first to react, “This is a good opportunity, they seem to be gathering, we should be safe on the way, clean up and meet up with the big few!”

Song Ying instantly reacted, but when she turned around, she saw ‘Luo Qiu’ had closed his eyes unknowingly, standing immobile.

Song Ying was about to pat him, but unexpectedly, Luo Qiu’s body suddenly softened, falling directly into her arms, his face burying into her chest.

Absolutely—deliberate!!!

Song Ying clenched her fists, but Gan Hong was quicker, and she concernedly moved Luo Qiu’s ‘shell’ away from Song Ying to inspect it.

“Young Master Qiu seems to have fainted again,” Gan Hong frowned at this moment, “We should regroup with the Eldest Young Master first.”

She made the quickest judgment, then crouched down, looking like she was about to carry Luo Qiu’s ‘shell’ on her back.

“Ahu, you carry him!” Unexpectedly, Song Ying coldly gave the order.

Ahu, one of the elite bodyguards, blinked, then, seeing Song Ying’s murderous look, shivered and quickly said, “Miss Hong, let me handle this heavy work…”

Gan Hong simply nodded silently.

At this moment.

“Song Ying!!”

It was Song Haoran’s voice, he was leading Song Er and Song San, and they had already found their way up.

…

…

Coming out of the inpatient department, Luo Qiu followed these moving zombies along the way. He couldn’t feel these zombies’ thoughts—because they didn’t have any.

In his black-and-white vision, there was nothing but void… not even a trace of gray light existed, which gave Luo Qiu a sudden sense of irritation.

He had gotten used to observing a world of colors, the whole world in his vision like an ocean of souls, countless lights drifting.

Some were as dazzling as luminous pearls, which captivated him, while some lights were obscured, covered in gray, but they might just be pearls temporarily in oyster shells, discovering them brought him endless joy.

The vacation wasn’t long, but it gave Luo Qiu many different feelings, emotions were no longer suppressed, and he knew he was temporarily freed from a kind of cage.

Only now did he truly understand the true meaning of ‘losing freedom’ as mentioned by the former Club Owner.

Either completely close off one’s mind, like a state of heart-death, or with the increase of transactions and the enhancement of abilities, be completely deified and completely forget one’s feelings… even if thoughts remain, there is an invisible absolute scale, no distinction of race, no right or wrong, until nothing remains worth longing for.

Perhaps, it is another form of… living dead.

Thinking to this extent, the annoyance in his heart surged like a dam breaking, with a vague hint of anger.

Luo Qiu suddenly stopped walking, silently standing in place, as the zombies walked past one by one, the world still without any colors.

Suddenly, Luo Qiu opened his eyes, waved his hand quickly and fiercely!

A ripple abruptly spread from his waving hand, and the zombies touched by this ripple began to disintegrate around Luo Qiu in an instant.

Their bodies shattered like dust… one by one, they were completely dispersed, annihilated.

It was like a form of venting, and the price was the complete disappearance of the surrounding zombies… at this moment, Luo Qiu slowly turned around.

Behind him, Zhong Luoyue and Queen Elizabeth stood tense at the staircase exit—they had probably followed these moving zombies here.

Yet they witnessed the sight of the zombies vanishing to dust with a wave of a hand.

Terrifying power… if even zombies can be annihilated with a wave, what in this mortal world can possibly withstand it?

At this moment, Luo Qiu walked over with a blank expression.

Zhong Luoyue was a bit tense and fearful… an even greater fear than when encountering Viscount Fernandis, encountering the monster that Uncle Jin had become.

She instinctively took half a step back, but her body suddenly stiffened, her legs suddenly weak, unable to lift no matter what.

Luo Qiu had already walked up to Queen Elizabeth.

“Brother Luoqiu…” Queen Elizabeth’s voice also began to tremble.

Yet, Luo Qiu suddenly raised his hand at this moment, gently caressing Queen Elizabeth’s cheek, and Luo Qiu softly said, “For me, you are like a treasure. How could I let you… simply vanish from my sight like this? You should belong to me.”

At this moment, Queen Elizabeth’s mind was like struck by lightning, entirely blank.

And Zhong Luoyue, hearing these words, also had her thoughts pause for a few seconds!

…

Is this a confession? Is this a confession? Is this a bossy CEO-style confession?

Zhong Luoyue didn’t know how Queen Elizabeth truly felt, but she was someone with a keen eye—just by seeing Queen Elizabeth’s almost limp body, her gaze soft as she blankly stared at Luo Qiu, Zhong Luoyue felt a sense of impending doom.

This man… is too terrifying.

Just as she thought this, Luo Qiu suddenly looked over at her, and merely meeting Luo Qiu’s gaze for an instant gave Zhong Luoyue a feeling of suffocation.

Not fear… but an unknown wild attraction… a kind of excitement seemingly originating from deep within, compelling her to move closer.

“You are also very nice… I won’t let you leave either.”

Was he saying this to me? Looking at me as he said it?

Was this man… making a declaration?

Her mind spun frantically, first gauging the power disparity between both sides, Zhong Luoyue quickly realized that her wealthy super power was utterly indefensible in the face of his true power.

At this moment, Luo Qiu held Queen Elizabeth’s hand, at this moment Queen Elizabeth’s gaze was completely besotted, as if her heart and mind had already been seized, merely allowing Luo Qiu to lead her.

He came before Zhong Luoyue, and softly said, “Mortal world can’t conceal your true brilliance, I can see your inner splendor and beauty.”

His hand slowly caressed Zhong Luoyue’s face, then lingered on her lips, lightly sliding downwards, causing Zhong Luoyue’s breathing to quicken.

Then Luo Qiu’s hand moved to her chest, lightly resting on her heart… seemingly feeling her heartbeat.

“Belongings.”

Luo Qiu’s face suddenly curved into a smile, sinister, like a vortex, completely engulfing Zhong Luoyue’s thoughts into it.
