Chapter 880: Chapter 124: Forget Worry, Three Lives (7)

You thought you had escaped, that you were safe, but in fact you just fell into another, even bigger trap.

Only at this moment did Zhong Luoyue deeply understand the sense of despair in the saying ‘out of the tiger’s den, into the wolf’s lair’.

The crowd that had escaped from the scene didn’t know when they had scattered. As they walked, Zhong Luoyue realized that many people ahead had disappeared at some point.

But when she looked back, there were only a handful of men and women around.

Their faces naturally showed fear, and at this moment, they realized that the route they had taken to escape might be wrong—this cellar was like a maze. Without someone to lead the way, they quickly became aware of a terrifying reality!

Lost!

“Where’s that big guy who broke the door? Why did he leave us behind!” a young man stomped his foot angrily at this time.

“It’s all your fault! I was following you, and now we’re lost!” Another woman, furious, grabbed the man beside her, “You’re going to get me killed!”

Zhong Luoyue looked at these people silently. Didn’t they realize that Song Da never intended to save anyone? He just broke the gate to get out earlier and search for Song Ying.

At this time, the dispute among the people seemed to be escalating. Zhong Luoyue watched this scene coldly—as if these people might self-destruct before being caught by those bloodsucking monsters.

She didn’t plan to participate in this escalating struggle but instead slowly retreated—she had no time to stay here. Since she lost a clear direction, even if she had to choose for herself, she wasn’t willing to stay in place and wait for the threat of death.

At this moment, besides Zhong Luoyue, there was another girl who didn’t dare to speak, only shrinking in fear—but this girl noticed Zhong Luoyue’s steps.

She suddenly grabbed Zhong Luoyue’s clothes, whispering in fear, “Where are you going? Do you know the way?”

“I just don’t want to sit around and be destroyed,” Zhong Luoyue said calmly.

As she said, fear had already controlled these people’s rationality. Even though they hadn’t completely escaped danger, these people had miraculously fallen into a frenzy, fighting among themselves.

“Could you… please take me with you?” The girl suddenly pleaded, “I… I just followed the boss here, I don’t want to die here.”

Zhong Luoyue glanced at the girl’s attire, which was not revealing and even appeared quite appropriate… Moreover, the fact that she could notice Zhong Luoyue’s actions suggested she was relatively calm and observant.

Advancing alone was somewhat dangerous, but bringing someone along could offer some help, or at the very least, mutual care.

So, Zhong Luoyue nodded slightly, then made a gesture for silence.

Taking advantage of the group’s trembling, the two of them cautiously retreated.

…

This girl was likely a local, but they could communicate in English. After forming a temporary team, Zhong Luoyue naturally clarified the girl’s name—Natasha.

“You’re truly a brave person.”

Walking down the dark passage, relying only on the phone’s lighting, the terrifying environment made Natasha hold onto Zhong Luoyue’s hem in fear continuously.

“I just have to be braver,” Zhong Luoyue shook her head. “Don’t hold onto me, walk by yourself.”

Natasha hesitated before releasing Zhong Luoyue’s hem. Now, Zhong Luoyue started observing the surroundings of the passage, particularly the corners of the walls.

“What are you doing?”

“Looking for any clues,” Zhong Luoyue said calmly. “Remember that guy who broke the door?”

Natasha nodded and said, “He’s miraculous! Is he a superman?”

Zhong Luoyue shook her head, “I don’t know if he’s a superman. But I know he has companions, they should be together. Since the big guy went ahead, he might have left marks to tell his companions his position.”

Natasha exclaimed in surprise, “The big guy is so powerful, does that mean if we find his marks, we’ll be safe?”

Zhong Luoyue glanced at Natasha, “First, this is just my conjecture. He might not have left any marks. Second, even if there are marks, it doesn’t guarantee that the big guy can find a safe place or exit. This is just an attempt. You should also stop standing around, go check the side. Also, it’s best if you take off your high heels, at least it’ll make it easier for you to move.”

Natasha, having no choice, picked up her phone and, imitating Zhong Luoyue, began looking for any possible marks. She ran her hands along the walls, and her phone’s light slowly swept across.

Suddenly, Natasha’s phone shone on a pale face!

The face’s eyes opened at this moment, one even without an eyeball, and simultaneously, the mouth opened, spewing out a foul stench!

Natasha fell to the ground in fear, screaming, scrambling to move her body, and crashed into the wall on the other side of the passage.

The terrified phone on the ground shone on the ceiling, revealing a silhouette stepping into the light source.

“Zom… Zombie! Zombie!!”

With a neck bitten open, a rotting abdomen, and intestines hanging, the zombie approached Natasha… Instantly, Natasha was so scared that her whole body trembled, and a stream of pungent liquid flowed between her legs.

Seeing this, Zhong Luoyue gasped, shivered, and leaped forward to kick the zombie in the head, knocking it back to the ground.

“Run!”

Zhong Luoyue quickly reached out to pull Natasha up, said swiftly, and then dragged her out, running fast.

First was the terrifying bloodsucker like Lady Eve, and then these zombies straight out of a biohazard scenario—Zhong Luoyue felt her life’s reserve of composure was being entirely drained in this place.

However, what awaited her ahead was a large wave of zombies and Song Da being besieged by zombies!

Song Da, with his well-trained martial arts, was waving his hands, making whooshing sounds. Under the terrifying assault of his palms, the zombies’ heads exploded directly.

Many guests had also fallen in the passageway… They were the first group that followed Song Da out and had been closely following behind him the whole time.

But at this moment, Song Da didn’t have the time or intention to care about these people.

They were being grabbed by zombies, frantically bitten on their bodies.

“Save… save me…”

A man was convulsing all over, his neck being bitten open by a zombie, a large amount of blood splattering out… Zhong Luoyue felt a chill all over.

At this time, Song Da was using his powerful palms to carve a path of blood through the zombies. Seeing Song Da get further away from her, Zhong Luoyue panicked inside.

With a sudden thought, she shouted at Song Da’s back, “Hero, please wait!”

Song Da could hear it… Upon hearing someone speaking behind the zombies, and in his native language no less, Song Da instinctively turned to look.

“Hero, please take me with you, I know your Ms. Ren!” Zhong Luoyue didn’t care about her actual poor relationship with Song Ying; she just wanted to take a bet. As for what happens after… she could think about that if she survives.

“Song Ying! I know her! I’m her senior sister from school!” Zhong Luoyue quickly added.

Song Da furrowed his brow at this moment.

He, along with Song Er and Song San, mostly remained in the shadows, responsible for ensuring Song Tianyou’s safety, which essentially made them the Song family’s retainers. The three brothers did not involve themselves in the family’s business dealings and knew little about Boss Zhong’s affairs or his people, having never truly met them.

“Do you really know our Miss?” Song Da furrowed his brow.

“I swear, Song Ying and I indeed have a past as classmates!” Zhong Luoyue earnestly declared.

“Alright!”

Song Da nodded, then proceeded to plunge his hands into the zombie horde for the kill – while he couldn’t ensure everyone’s safety, he could easily manage with one or two.

Don’t be fooled by the fearsome appearance of these zombies; they’re actually quite easy to kill, even easier than the two monsters at the wine tasting event.

Seeing Song Da willing to come to her aid, Zhong Luoyue was instantly elated.

“Hero, thank you, I will definitely repay you for saving my life,” Zhong Luoyue promised solemnly.

She observed Song Da’s intimidating skills, reminiscent of those legendary martial arts masters seldom encountered, and treated him with ancient courtesy, feeling it was fitting.

Song Da didn’t say much, merely nodding casually, though he felt this woman seemed able to read his mind… She wasn’t simple; amidst so many zombies, she could maintain composure and strategically assess the situation.

“Follow me!”

Song Da chopped down the last zombie and led the way. He was sweating profusely, evidently having exerted significant physical effort to eliminate the zombies here.

Zhong Luoyue noticed Song Da occasionally touched the wall, leaving a strange mark, discreetly committing it to memory.

“You’re quite fit, and also calm, your muscle definition looks good,” Song Da suddenly commented, “Have you trained before?”

Zhong Luoyue nodded, “The elders required it; I spent some time in the military when I was young.”

Song Da nodded but then abruptly halted.

He suddenly crouched down, pressing his ear to the ground, and quickly stood up, frowning, “Lots of footsteps ahead, very chaotic, it’s those zombies from earlier!”

“What…” Zhong Luoyue was startled, “Are there still those things?”

Song Da said gravely, “I’m afraid there’s still more hidden here… This place has blood-sucking monsters and zombies, it’s practically a Demon Cave, perhaps even I…”

Hearing this, Zhong Luoyue could hardly feel good.

Song Da then said, “Ms. Ren, if I can’t handle it later, seize the opportunity to escape with your friends. Whether you make it out depends on your fate… now, follow this way.”

Song Da pointed to another path.

Zhong Luoyue’s feelings were complex as she nodded… She wanted to call for help outside, but her phone signal vanished, leaving her trapped in a cage full of zombies and bloodsuckers.

Natasha couldn’t understand the conversation between Zhong Luoyue and Song Da, but sensing some consensus reached and glances exchanged with her, she felt notably uneasy.

The trio remained silent, each harboring their own thoughts, as they took the alternate path.

…

…

Walking through the relatively quiet passage, Luo Qiu heard some muffled noises—though lacking Xitacil’s guidance didn’t mean Luo Qiu couldn’t find his way.

Whether guided by fate or an inexplicable Perception, Luo Qiu could always reach places where events unfolded.

Over time, Luo Qiu became accustomed, simply allowing his instincts to lead the way—putting it simply, it was what it was.

A door opened ahead.

At the door, Luo Qiu saw a room filled with countless corpses. Some were decomposed, while others could still move.

Zombies—it was Luo Qiu’s first time seeing real zombies.

This place seemed to have housed a large horde of zombies, but they had been slaughtered, leaving a floor covered in dismembered bodies.

At the corner of the room, partially bodied or merely headed zombies clustered together, seemingly devouring something.

Luo Qiu stepped in, slightly furrowing his brow.

These zombies lacked intelligence, could not fear, only responded to simple reflexes. The earlier giant spider possessed some wisdom, as it knew to evade.

With a wave of his hand, the zombies scattered as if pulled away.

At the same time, Luo Qiu saw an old man.

His legs were practically bare bones, flesh mostly eaten away, his left arm gone, devoured until only his shoulder remained.

His waist was also bitten open.

The old man’s face was utterly ashen… his body slumped against the wall, yet he could slightly lift his head.

Upon seeing Luo Qiu, his lips barely moved.

Luo Qiu squatted down, grasped the old man’s tightly held hand on his chest, and softly asked, “Anything you wish to say?”

“You are…” the old man’s lips moved again.

He sensed a strange Power flowing into his body, briefly halting his fading Life Force, as he gazed at Luo Qiu, recalling something, “Are you… the one Takizawa mentioned?”

“Takizawa?” Luo Qiu was startled, then nodded, “Must be me. Your body… have you used something that overdrafts your Life Force?”

The old man… Amunst coughed blood, “I… I know my condition, don’t waste your Power.”

“It’s fine.” Luo Qiu shook his head, “Although I can’t save you now, this consumption is insignificant.”

“Bitten by zombies… it’s only a matter of time before I become like them.” Amunst quickly said, “I beg you to kill me, let me die human. Also… on me, there’s the Twelve Round Table Paladins’ Inheritance key, I… I can give it to you…”

Amunst slowly unbuttoned his shirt, revealing a medallion strapped to his body.
