Chapter 904: Chapter 148: Dawn of the Living Dead (Part 2)

The zombie janitor, already immersed in the pleasure of devouring fresh flesh, was unaware that as it lowered its head again to bite the bodyguard’s flesh, Queen Elizabeth was hastily approaching it.

Without special stimulation, zombies… living dead usually don’t have much reaction to bloodsuckers. Like the zombies in the castle Dungeon Maze that attack bloodsuckers, it’s a special case, due to Karen Yisheer’s control.

At this moment, Queen Elizabeth had already walked directly in front of the zombie janitor, her hand swiftly cutting through the air, the zombie’s head instantly severing and falling off.

Beheading… this brutal method made Zhong Luoyue uncomfortable, but she said nothing, and she adapted quickly—she understood that these living dead zombies, if their heads weren’t destroyed, would never cease.

Queen Elizabeth turned and said, “Yue’er, the hospital smells like corpses everywhere, I’m afraid many have already transformed into zombies.”

Zhong Luoyue nervously asked, “Queen Elizabeth, are these zombies really like in the movies, where whoever gets bitten turns into a zombie?”

Queen Elizabeth shook her head and said, “I don’t know about those movies you mentioned, watching movies is too much of a time waster for me. But generally, some people, due to their physical condition, won’t transform even if bitten. But that’s a minority.”

“Even so, it’s an immeasurable disaster… if it really breaks out,” Zhong Luoyue frowned.

Queen Elizabeth nodded and said, “Yes, if humans all turn into zombies, bloodsuckers won’t be able to get fresh blood. Normally, the lifespan of zombies is about fifty years. That seems to be a limit; their bodies exposed to the air will continue to rot, eventually decaying completely. But if preserved well, slowing the decay, some can survive for a hundred years, or even longer. Like some in the castle underground, they should be sealed from centuries ago.”

Zhong Luoyue suddenly said, “Suppose… I mean just suppose, if the whole world was occupied by zombies, what would it look like?”

Queen Elizabeth said seriously, “This proposition was raised long ago within the Thirteen Clans, and there’s a prediction… If that truly happens, and no other living creatures exist except for the living dead, then once all the living dead naturally die, it would probably usher in a completely silent world, returning to the world’s beginning, before the birth of any Life. Revelation once mentioned extinction and purification of the world, merely natural disasters and man-made catastrophes… theoretically, zombies are a type of man-made catastrophe.”

Zhong Luoyue didn’t know what the Revelation was about, nor did she have time to care, because during this brief conversation, another zombie slowly walked by outside the door.

She glanced at Queen Elizabeth, who decisively said, “When we encounter zombies, either control them or eliminate them all… The Thirteen Clans have never had a third option for zombies. And controlling zombies not only requires special methods but also special Talent Superpower, which isn’t common among bloodsuckers, so we mostly eliminate them upon sight. After all, zombies to us, as to humans, are the origin capable of bringing our race to extinction.”

Zhong Luoyue said nothing, quickly nodding, then gathered the firearms from the already dead bodyguards.

Queen Elizabeth said that having transformed into a bloodsucker, she would awaken her Talent Superpower sooner or later. But there’s no definite timeline, so for Zhong Luoyue, these modern weapons still felt more secure.

“I believe my marksmanship hasn’t gone rusty.” Zhong Luoyue took a deep breath, hung the gun bag on her waist, then dashed out the room.

The gun’s muzzle aimed at the back of the zombie walking by… A headshot!

Boom—!!!!

…

…

Boom boom, boom boom boom—!

Amidst screams, gunfire continued to erupt, drastically changing Song Ying’s expression who was questioning Luo Qiu.

Gan Hong was the quickest to react; as soon as the anomaly occurred, she swiftly moved to the window, simultaneously pulling out a silver M9 handgun and looking outside.

“What do you see?” Song Ying had already stood up early on.

Gan Hong shook her head and said, “Not clear yet, but there are people running downstairs… those firing, it’s the police.”

Just then, the ward door suddenly opened, and a Song Family elite guard appeared, looking frantic, “Miss Ying, please leave with me quickly, outside there are… there are…”

“What is it?”

“Zombies!” The man finally spoke in terror.

Just as he spoke, a miserable scream was heard from outside the door, a Song Family guard outside was suddenly pinned to the ground, screaming… screeching.

This scene startled all who saw it; Song Ying was shocked because it was less than half an hour ago she had watched a video about zombies on Song Da’s phone, and now zombies appeared right in front of her.

Through the screen and seeing firsthand, the feelings are naturally completely different, chilling her to the bone.

Luo Qiu wasn’t startled, but slightly furrowed his brow. The change between true Luo Qiu and false Luo Qiu didn’t take long—he himself was still at the vineyard, spending time with You Ye, deciding when it was about time to change back.

This means, during his absence from the hospital, a zombie disaster had already erupted within… Yet it’s unknown where the source of this hospital’s zombie plague started.

Luo Qiu instantly closed his eyes, his consciousness, so powerful, immediately enveloped the entire hospital… like omnipresent eyes.

“Why are you still standing there! Scared stiff?”

Luo Qiu suddenly felt his body tugged, and upon opening his eyes, he saw Song Ying already grabbing his arm, pulling vigorously, a panicked look, “Let’s go!”

“Young Master Qiu just woke up, his body might not be well, let me carry him!” Gan Hong immediately said.

“…I’d better do it myself.” Luo Qiu shook his head.

Outside, several Song Family guards had already completely dealt with the zombie that appeared—they almost turned it into a hornet’s nest.

“Miss Ying, we’ve contacted Old Master.” The first guard that came in quickly said, “Old Master also encountered zombies, but with the Big Young Master and Mister Song Da there, it’s temporarily safe. Old Master has already sent the Big Young Master to fetch us!”

“Understood!” Song Ying nodded.

After the initial chaos, Song Ying quickly calmed down, not to mention Gan Hong, who constantly responded calmly… although her face showed signs of shock, not a bit confused.

One must admit, Song Family indeed has an exceptional approach to training their descendants and subordinates.

Probably would live quite well… if not involved in Transcendent matters, Luo Qiu’s mind wandered to such a thought—for him, understanding his father’s heritage was nearly completing the initial goal.

Yet recently, You Ye completed a major deal, granting him ample time to extend this vacation.

When Luo Qiu got up, Gan Hong was already squatting down, placing the slippers in front of his heel, seemingly intending to help him put them on… Isn’t this Song Family’s nurturing a bit overdone?

What standards were used for this training…

“Young Master Qiu, what’s wrong? Are you feeling unwell?” Gan Hong asked with concern, lifting her head.

“It’s nothing.” Luo Qiu shook his head.

Gan Hong didn’t actually help to put on shoes, but quickly glanced outside the door instead. She was still wearing the dress from the ancient castle wine tasting event.

She tore the lower part of the dress directly, then took off her high heels… It was an almost perfect leg shape, except for a scar of more than ten centimeters on the outer thigh.

“Ms. Ying, Young Master, I’ll go over there to scout the way, you wait here for me.” The guard hurriedly walked to one side of the corridor.

At this moment, Gan Hong found a black handgun from a dead guard and directly stuffed it into Luo Qiu’s hand, “Young Master Qiu, please hold this.”

The gun wasn’t cold; it was still warm… The guard didn’t have time to pull it out before his death.

Seeing Luo Qiu seemed unable to react, Gan Hong said nothing and merely circled behind Luo Qiu, pressing closely against his body, lifting Luo Qiu’s hands, her fingers intertwining with his.

Suddenly, this gave Luo Qiu a peculiar sensation… probably from the intimate contact with the opposite gender.

“Hold it like this, then aim, you need to exert some force with your index finger when pulling the trigger,” Gan Hong said quickly, “There will be some recoil, so you need to relax your wrist, and then like this. Remember, aim the gun at the ground when not firing to avoid accidental discharge.”

“Cough, cough!!” Song Ying suddenly coughed twice.

Gan Hong swiftly circled back and stepped back a bit, slightly lowering her head.

“Thank you for the guidance.” Luo Qiu smiled, “I think I probably won’t have much chance to shoot, but I’ll hold it anyway.”

“Cough, cough!!!!” Song Ying suddenly coughed twice again.

Luo Qiu said, “Song Ying, are you not feeling well?”

“Come on! Always so slow and unhurried! Do you want to become a zombie!!” Song Ying asked curiously!

Perhaps a bit anxious… ah, sputtering!!!

“This way! Ahu is already back!” Song Ying pointed to another direction outside the door—Ahu is the name of the guard who went to scout.

Gan Hong nodded, then grabbed Luo Qiu’s hand and quickly walked out… The feeling of being protected seemed nice, but Luo Qiu wasn’t indulging in this novel sensation at the moment, instead thinking about other things.

Zombies are living dead, living dead have no soul… The extreme panic brought by zombie disasters will inevitably provide the club with a steady stream of business—just like the urgent prayers of hostages in the opera house before.

Because numbers have reached a certain level, directly triggering the transaction mechanism—of course, it was not unrelated that the boss was nearby at the time.

But such a model isn’t something Luo Qiu wants to see, and he probably wouldn’t be what the club itself wants to see either—if the whole world turned into the living dead, then those precious things would disappear.

The club would face an awkward situation where there would be no business to do.

“It turns out there are situations where one should take initiative even if not provoked…” Luo Qiu murmured to himself, lowering his head.

He suddenly remembered his conversation with Black Water… the club’s stance has always been on the guest’s side, never favoring anyone.

But if it’s such a situation, its stance would fall to the side of non-guests.

Or is this merely Luo Qiu’s own stance?

…

…

Beside Mr. Blind, there’s always a cold gleam hovering, upon closer inspection, one finds it’s a short sword about the length of an arm, a Bronze Sword.

The Bronze Sword seems to have a mind of its own, moving autonomously, always hovering around Mr. Blind and Song Tianyou. When a zombie pounces, the cold gleam immediately shoots out like lightning, chopping off the zombie’s head.

The legendary Sword Immortal… only in ancient texts would it obscurely mention such a monk system.

Song Da hadn’t seen Mr. Blind make a move many times, but each time made him deeply envious… It’s a life level martial artists can never touch.

The ancient scripture obtained from the castle’s treasure vault, he hadn’t had time to discuss it with Mr. Blind… At this moment, he even somewhat wanted to speak with Mr. Blind.

After smashing a zombie’s head with a palm, Song Da quickly returned to Song Tianyou and Mr. Blind’s side, “The Young Master together with Song Er and Song San should almost be encountering Miss Ying and the others, don’t worry.”

Song Tianyou glanced around; this was the hospital lobby, fallen around were many corpses, these were patients who rushed out of the wards but were bitten to death by zombies.

“Hopefully.” Though anxious, Song Tianyou understood he shouldn’t delve deeper, as it would only burden his side with the extra effort to protect him.

“Strange, why did these zombies suddenly quiet down?” Song Da frowned at this moment.

In front, several patients who just got up from the ground and turned into zombies, suddenly turned around and all walked towards one direction, seemingly uninterested in these fresh ‘foods.’

Song Da quickly looked at Mr. Blind, but saw Mr. Blind merely frown, silent… Not knowing why either.

…

“They seem to have quieted down… Where are they going?”

Not only on Song Old Master’s side, but the other side of the hospital, Queen Elizabeth and Zhong Luoyue encountered a similar situation. However, unlike Song Tianyou’s side who directly engaged with zombies, they almost slaughtered their way through.

Zombies for bloodsuckers are like immobile targets.

“Are they attracted by something…” Queen Elizabeth pondered for a moment, then suddenly said, “This might be a good thing, if they are attracted and gathered by something, their chance to escape the hospital will greatly decline, minimizing their threat.”

Suddenly, Zhong Luoyue and Queen Elizabeth looked at each other, both thinking of a possibility, a person… A person with the ability to gather zombies.

Mysteriously… Luo Qiu.
