Chapter 903: Chapter 47: Dawn of the Living Dead (Part 1)

On the path in the hospital’s recuperation area, Song Tianyou walked side by side with Mr. Blind, followed by the Song Big Three Brothers and Song Haoran, who kept a distance of six or seven meters.

Despite Song Haoran’s extraordinary perception and the martial instincts of the Song Big Three Brothers, they couldn’t hear the conversation between Song Tianyou and Mr. Blind.

They knew this was Mr. Blind’s method – even face to face, if Mr. Blind didn’t want someone to hear, they couldn’t.

“Is Old Master Song worried because of the turmoil with the castle zombies?”

Song Tianyou glanced at Mr. Blind and shook his head, “With you here, what do I have to fear from evil demons? I am just thinking about another matter.”

Mr. Blind asked, “What matter?”

Song Tianyou stopped and looked afar at the stars, “Do you remember our first encounter?”

Mr. Blind nodded, “Of course, I remember. Back then, when you were being hunted in Southeast Asia, I happened to pass by.”

Song Tianyou still felt, “If it weren’t for your help, I fear I’d never have left Southeast Asia, let alone establish the Song Family’s foundation in this foreign land. I will never forget your kindness. So I made it a family rule that all Song descendants should respect you as they respect me.”

“No need for that,” Mr. Blind said calmly, “I have already accepted the Song Family’s offerings, and it serves both our purposes.”

Song Tianyou simply smiled, choosing not to continue the topic, and suddenly looked at a faint star in the sky, “You once mentioned that there was the star energy of the Purple Star on me. Do you remember?”

Mr. Blind said, “The Song Family originally descended from royalty. Emperor Taizu of Song was recognized by Heaven and Earth as the True Dragon Emperor. Even though dynasties have changed, the Dragon Qi on the Chinese land still blesses the descendants. The Song Family, despite its hardships, has always survived with a spark of prosperity. Earth Dragon Qi is a curious fate; through hardships, like a butterfly breaking free from a chrysalis, a cycle of reincarnation, there will inevitably emerge a wealthy and noble person. You, Old Master Song, are that destined individual.”

Song Tianyou suddenly sighed, worried, “What will happen to the Song Family after my death?”

Mr. Blind said, “Miss Song Ying bears the appearance of wealth with no worries for a lifetime. As for Young Master Song, with his extraordinary talents, he will find his own opportunities. You need not worry.”

“And what about the descendants of my brother?” Song Tianyou suddenly asked, “For these years, I’ve been persistently searching for the whereabouts of my brother and his descendants simply because you once told me that my brother’s lineage hasn’t ended, which is why I never gave up. But a year ago, you informed me that the fate was disturbed, and you couldn’t divine whether they existed, leading me to despair.”

Mr. Blind said, “I still can’t divine it now. They exist, yet they don’t. It’s not just a matter of fate; even the slightest clue seems shrouded in cosmic ambiguity.”

“Do you mean… we might have found the wrong person?” Song Tianyou frowned.

Mr. Blind shook his head, “Not necessarily. Fate and the workings of Heaven are rather elusive, but contemporary science offers its insights. What science can prove, ancient methods may not. And recently, the Song Family’s fortune has inexplicably surged, as if blessed by a great force of Heaven and Earth… I deduce it is due to the return of your brother’s descendants.”

“The great force of Heaven and Earth?” Song Tianyou was taken aback.

Mr. Blind paused for a moment, then said in a deep voice, “As I’ve said, the Song Family is indeed descended from the True Dragon Emperor. Even though dynasties change, the position once recognized by Heaven and Earth as Supreme of the Human World still lies in the Song descendants’ fates… The Song Family’s sudden surge in fortune, an increase I’ve never witnessed in my life, is likely due to the presence of this recovered descendant of the Song Family’s Supreme of the Human World fortune.”

“Are you suggesting that Luo Qiu has… the destiny of a True Dragon Emperor?” Song Tianyou’s mouth dropped open, astonished.

“In today’s world, the notion of an emperor no longer exists.”

Mr. Blind shook his head again, “Whether one can transform into a dragon and stand at the pinnacle of humanity depends on many unpredictable factors. Moreover, I have yet to personally meet this Young Master Qiu, so I dare not make any assertions. But one thing is certain; the sudden rise in the Song Family’s fortune will benefit everyone connected with it, elevating their luck, even mine. Perhaps… perhaps the Song Family might even advance further because of it.”

The pinnacle of tomb-robbing families already belongs to tomb-robbing families… If the pinnacle advances further, Song Tianyou’s gaze instantly became solemn.

That would be… the realm of nations.

“This is a significant matter; I shall keep it confidential.” Song Tianyou pondered for a moment, “I had my doubts, but hearing you has made things clear, and I have made some decisions.”

Mr. Blind seemed to know Song Tianyou’s intentions and suddenly said, “Old Master Song, do not act hastily. Human strength is limited; fate is elusive, and circumstances are ever-changing. It’s better to plan thoroughly before moving.”

“I’ll heed your advice,” Song Tianyou nodded.

In the dark night, a sudden scream came from the hospital, startling both Song Tianyou and Mr. Blind, as well as the Song Big Three Brothers and Song Haoran.

…

Uncle Wu walked down the hospital corridor with his hands behind his back, wondering if Miss Song Ying’s temperament might put Young Master Qiu in an awkward position… Later, he concluded that matters of the young should be left to the young, and the elderly shouldn’t worry too much.

What puzzled him was that, when Luo Qiu regained consciousness, he immediately pressed the call button by the bedside, but neither doctors nor nurses appeared.

Is the hospital really that busy tonight…? Perhaps it’s because they’re busy attending to victims brought in from the castle?

Uncle Wu knocked on the door of the duty room but saw no one inside. Puzzled, he frowned but then heard some strange noises coming from under one of the desks in the room.

Curious, Uncle Wu slowly moved towards the desk.

“Is there something you need?”

Unexpectedly, a voice came from behind, causing Uncle Wu to turn around quickly, where he saw a slightly fatigued young doctor.

Uncle Wu said calmly, “Nothing much, I just pressed the call button, but no one came, so I came to check myself.”

The young doctor glanced inside the duty room and said, “It’s probably because it’s too busy, and they assigned the staff elsewhere… Which room is it? I’ll go there right away.”

“Room A-01.”

The young doctor was surprised, then nodded quickly, “Sir, please wait a moment. I’ll just put something down and head over immediately.”

He knew that the individual in that room mustn’t be ordinary — because it was the best room in the whole hospital.

Uncle Wu nodded, “Alright, then I’ll head back first.”

The young doctor quickly said okay and watched Uncle Wu leave at a leisurely pace. Only then did the young doctor sigh in relief, rubbing his brow. This night was just too hectic; he hadn’t even had time to eat dinner and was already starving — but he had to check Room A-01 first and then get something to eat afterward.

He poured himself a glass of water, planning to drink it and then search for the medical records before heading over.

While the young doctor drank, he suddenly heard some strange noises behind him, piquing his curiosity. Turning around, the sound seemed to come from a desk in the corner.

The young doctor frowned and stepped forward with his cup, but when he reached a point where he could see, he found nothing.

It was just the chair being moved a little, with a few documents scattered on the floor.

The young doctor shook his head, thinking to himself that he might be too tired. He walked over, bent down to pick up the documents on the floor, and placed them back on the table, then glanced at a photo on the desk.

This was his colleague’s spot, and the photo was of his colleague and his girlfriend… The young doctor smiled gently.

He suddenly thought that he would really like to have a girlfriend too, but doctors are so busy, it’s totally a matter of having time to die and no time to get sick.

He laughed at himself for a moment, then turned around, but was suddenly startled at that instant… It was his colleague.

At this moment, the colleague had his head lowered, his body trembling slightly. The young doctor let out a breath, “You’re going to scare me to death!”

He casually patted his colleague’s shoulder, but his colleague remained with his head down, motionless, “What’s wrong? Not feeling well?”

“Jack? Are you okay?” The young doctor called out again.

At this moment, colleague Jack suddenly raised his head, pale face, rolling eyes, and suddenly opened mouth!

Ah——!!!

The paper cup fell to the ground, spilling the remaining water everywhere…

…

…

Zhong Luoyue didn’t immediately return to see Ouyang Jie, but went into a separate ward. She instructed the bodyguards to stay outside the door, walking inside alone.

This was naturally not comparable to that heavily guarded, best-condition ward, but it was already considered one of the best in the hospital.

Inside the ward, there was no patient, but a girl who looked like she had albinism.

When Zhong Luoyue knocked and entered, the girl was standing by the window, gazing diagonally into the distance.

Zhong Luoyue felt she must have heard her coming in, so she wasn’t too abrupt and directly asked, “Is that where your home is?”

The girl turned around: Queen Elizabeth.

Queen Elizabeth looked at Zhong Luoyue and said, “My grandfather told me, after this hunting day is over, we won’t return home, but will go to the Mediterranean, where my mother grew up…”

She bowed her head, smiling although it made people’s hearts ache, she whispered, “Grandfather says, I have too few opportunities to walk outside, so with this chance, I could travel a bit further, I am actually looking forward to it.”

Zhong Luoyue patted Queen Elizabeth’s shoulder, “Your grandfather would be very happy to see you being able to walk freely now.”

Because of a psychic connection trip, Zhong Luoyue’s memories also tangled with Queen Elizabeth’s past.

Because of this entanglement, even without having really seen Amunst, Zhong Luoyue’s heart also felt an uncharacteristic yet incredibly real desolation.

She and Queen Elizabeth had only known each other for half a day, yet it felt like they had been friends for half a lifetime—a very peculiar thing.

“What are your plans afterwards?” Zhong Luoyue suddenly asked.

Queen Elizabeth shook her head, “I don’t know, maybe I’ll walk around a bit, look at the outside world, or maybe first go back to my home to manage some things. Actually, I don’t know if I can handle them properly, these things used to be handled by grandfather, while I mostly just slept.”

Though Queen Elizabeth was not welcome as a mixed blood among bloodsuckers, when her father was alive, he was indeed a pureblood bloodsucker, with quite a few industries.

Zhong Luoyue pondered, then said, “Why not, you temporarily join me?”

Queen Elizabeth looked at Zhong Luoyue.

“This is actually for myself,” Zhong Luoyue said seriously, “With my current situation, if there is no ‘elder’ around me, I would feel very uneasy. Maybe you think this is kind of forcing you, but at least I can guarantee that I can give you considerable help, and also help manage your family’s industries… Of course, I don’t covet these industries.”

Queen Elizabeth shook her head, “Your family is far wealthier than mine, so I’m not concerned about that. You and I have tangled memories because of the psychic connection trip, and now we’re like family; I am very willing to help you… but I still want to first visit my mother’s hometown, at least, beside my mother’s grave, arrange something for grandfather too.”

“That’s a given.” Zhong Luoyue immediately rejoiced, “I will accompany you, providing more care.”

She was a bit anxious initially, wondering if Queen Elizabeth would agree to her request, but unexpectedly, Queen Elizabeth promptly agreed.

As a newborn among bloodsuckers, with ‘elder’ Lady Eve already dead, she’s constantly felt a sense of loneliness and helplessness, now having a fellow around naturally provides much reassurance.

As for how to deal with matters of Boss Zhong’s family in the future… Zhong Luoyue intends to take this trip accompanying Queen Elizabeth to the Mediterranean, to consider thoroughly and also to give herself some quiet reflection.

“In that case, you can call me Yue’er directly in the future,” Zhong Luoyue smiled and said, “This name is only used by my family.”

“Yue’er.” Queen Elizabeth smiled slightly, her expression relaxed a bit, easing a touch of gloom.

Just at this moment, Queen Elizabeth frowned, her gaze turned towards the room’s door.

“What’s wrong?” Zhong Luoyue asked curiously.

Queen Elizabeth’s expression turned serious, “I smell the scent of corpses, and… quite a few.”

As she spoke, the door of the ward was suddenly flung open, and a bodyguard lay on the ground, with a middle-aged man dressed as a janitor crouching over him.

The janitor… was biting the bodyguard’s neck.

This scene etched deeply into Zhong Luoyue’s mind—because it was just like when she had seen the zombies eating people back in the dungeon maze of the ancient castle!

“How could this happen… zombies appearing in a hospital?” Zhong Luoyue retreated in horror.

“I’m afraid some of the survivors might have been infected…” Queen Elizabeth frowned.

The janitor turned zombie suddenly raised his head, opening a mouth full of flesh and blood, Queen Elizabeth’s lips moved, two sharp teeth protruded, opening, emitting a low growl.

The janitor zombie roared again, then ignored them, continuing to lower his head and devour the blood and flesh from the bodyguard.
