Chapter 897: Chapter 141: Bond of the Immortals (8)

After being tortured by Karen Yisheer, Jin Wucheng was left barely alive. He lay on the ground with only a silly smile at the corner of his mouth. Perhaps to him now, he didn’t even know what pain was.

This was a truth that couldn’t be discovered… The enraged female bloodsucker knew this yet couldn’t hide the murderous intent in her heart. Only the desire to know the truth allowed her to maintain the last shred of reason.

“Miss Karen, at first, why did you think it was us… who killed Mister Tu?” Queen Elizabeth still managed to ask.

Karen Yisheer took a deep breath and said, “I’ve been away from the ancient castle for three years, didn’t participate in several hunting days, you should know that, right?”

Queen Elizabeth nodded, then said, “We thought you had a falling out with Mister Tu…”

“It was just a tantrum.” Karen Yisheer let out a bitter laugh, “But now that I think back, if it hadn’t been taken so seriously, if I hadn’t left, he wouldn’t have…”

She shook her head, bitterly saying, “I came back because I received news from Jin Wucheng saying he… was already dead. I hurried back only to see a dried corpse. It was him… I could feel it, it was definitely him. At that moment, I almost wanted to destroy everything, but my desire for revenge told me I couldn’t let his murderer go free.”

“Wait… you said it was Uncle Jin… Jin Wucheng who told you?” Zhong Luoyue was taken aback, as if she had picked up on something.

Karen Yisheer gave the newborn a cold glance, her tone icy, “Do you think I hadn’t considered this possibility? But you know, Tu Shenyi was my first use, I know how strong his power is better than anyone. Even if he didn’t fight back, Jin Wucheng wouldn’t have been able to kill him.”

“What about weapons? Bombs or something… Maybe can’t kill head-on, but in an ambush,” Zhong Luoyue frowned, “And from what Jin Wucheng just said, it’s very likely he used non-direct methods.”

Karen Yisheer sighed, “Whatever possibilities you can think of, I’ve thought about them all, but Jin Wucheng was the first I ruled out. He was terminal with liver cancer, surviving only because Tu Shenyi used blood to make a concoction for him. He was even waiting for a chance… waiting for Tu Shenyi to turn him into a bloodsucker. Tu Shenyi was his last hope, there’s no way he’d destroy himself.”

“So, indeed…” Zhong Luoyue nodded, “But what he said didn’t seem like a lie either. It’s a pity he’s in such a state, I’m afraid he won’t last long, and there’s no chance of waking up… will the truth be buried forever?”

“I… I might be able to help.” Queen Elizabeth timidly said at this time.

Karen Yisheer was startled, suddenly grabbing Queen Elizabeth’s arm, “Mental induction… can you already invade memories?”

“I… I don’t know.” Queen Elizabeth stammered, “I couldn’t before, but since enduring this hunting frenzy, it seems… my ability feels a bit different, I just feel like I can.”

Saying this, Queen Elizabeth instinctively glanced at Luo Qiu, who had completely entered a spectator mode beside her, thinking: could it be because I drank Brother Luo Qiu’s blood…

“If you can do it!” Karen Yisheer unconsciously gripped Queen Elizabeth’s arm tighter, “You… try it!”

Queen Elizabeth nodded, then walked to the side of Jin Wucheng, squatted down, and placed her palm on Jin Wucheng’s forehead, slowly closing her eyes.

Zhong Luoyue and Karen Yisheer watched with tension… while Luo Qiu moved a few steps closer, observing Queen Elizabeth.

Her ability might have surpassed mental induction and become psychological induction… invading the other’s consciousness.

“It seems possible… I did it!” Queen Elizabeth opened her eyes in surprise, then quickly said, “I can show you his memories, hold onto my hand!”

Karen Yisheer took hold of Queen Elizabeth’s wrist without a word, and after some hesitation, Zhong Luoyue also gently held Queen Elizabeth’s hand.

“Can I use the shoulder?” Luo Qiu approached.

Queen Elizabeth nodded, and after receiving permission, Luo Qiu placed his hand on Queen Elizabeth’s shoulder.

“Get ready… I’ll take you into his consciousness, please relax. Brother Luo Qiu… your mind is too strong, I… I…”

“Oh… okay, now it’s fine.”

Queen Elizabeth took a deep breath and then slowly closed her eyes.

This was a wonderful experience, feeling as though her body became infinitely light, ultimately departing from herself.

As soon as she closed her eyes, scenes flashed before Zhong Luoyue’s eyes… reflections of memories stored deep in her soul.

The mental world was complex and profound. Under Queen Elizabeth’s ability, the lines of spirit were like woven Twists, constantly blending within one another.

Whether it was Karen Yisheer’s, Queen Elizabeth’s, or even Zhong Luoyue’s… the events they remembered vividly, at this moment, were all fully displayed before Luo Qiu’s ‘eyes’.

Yet they couldn’t draw out anything about Luo Qiu from this ‘Twist’ of consciousness.

Suddenly, consciousness condensed and took shape, appearing in a dark underground cellar… they all turned to look at Luo Qiu with different expressions.

Luo Qiu… Luo Qiu was instead observing the surroundings, pretending to study earnestly.

Karen Yisheer furrowed her brows, undoubtedly sensing that her memories were mysteriously being viewed by the other three.

Queen Elizabeth turned flustered, while Zhong Luoyue… was dizzy.

Her mind was, after all, too fragile. The process of consciousness transformation exceeded what her mind could handle. However, she vaguely felt something wrong, as though someone had suddenly moved into her psyche.

“I-I’m sorry… it’s my first time doing this.” Queen Elizabeth seemed to realize what had happened, promptly apologizing, “I didn’t know it would be like this…”

“What is this place?” Karen Yisheer directly inquired.

“This is a memory scene of Jin Wucheng,” Queen Elizabeth replied, “His memory is too chaotic now, I can only find the scenes with the strongest reactions, the deepest impressions.”

“It sounds like something…” Zhong Luoyue suddenly pointed at a Stone Gate ahead and said, “Have we been here before?”

It was indeed the same place they had found Queen Elizabeth when following Luo Qiu… the cell full of terrifying claw marks.

Sound, a series of screams… echoed from within the stone chamber.

“It’s his voice!” Karen Yisheer instantly dashed toward the Stone Gate of the stone chamber, but her body was immediately rebounded back, unable to break the door.

“Miss Karen, it’s no use.” Queen Elizabeth quickly explained, “This is only a memory of Jin Wucheng, including the sounds we hear, they’re also part of his memories. So, if he doesn’t open the door, we won’t know what’s inside.”

“He should be coming now.” Luo Qiu abruptly said, “The sound is getting louder, indicating that the distance is closing.”

Indeed, the painful cries gradually intensified as Karen Yisheer anxiously waited. Finally, through the darkness came a figure.

It was Jin Wucheng.

At this moment, he was carrying an oil lamp in his hand, cautiously approaching. Every step was taken with extreme caution, and his face bore a look of fear—finally, he arrived at the Stone Gate of the cell, and then, with effort, opened it.

The lamp’s glow illuminated inside the stone chamber, revealing a long-haired man chained to the wall.

He bare his fangs, his face gaunt, his body emaciated, eyes deeply hollowed, and skin pale as snow… struggling frantically.

“Is this… Mister Tu?” Queen Elizabeth instinctively covered her mouth.

Karen Yisheer gritted her teeth, nodding, clenching her fists tightly, her entire body trembling, her fangs faintly visible.

Jin Wucheng lingered at the door for a long while, before finally summoning the courage to push open the door and entered—bringing with him, the environment swiftly changed, finally allowing Luo Qiu and the others to enter the stone chamber.

Jin Wucheng was slowly approaching the trapped Tu Shenyi.

“You… must be very hungry, right?” Jin Wucheng suddenly said in a low voice, “You must be very hungry!”

He swiftly rolled up his sleeve, exposing his arm, placed it directly in front of Tu Shenyi, “Bite me! Come, bite me! I let you drink my blood… bite! Bite me!”

Tu Shenyi suddenly stopped struggling, opened his mouth slightly, and slowly approached Jin Wucheng’s wrist.

Jin Wucheng’s eyes began to burn… even becoming anxious.

Finally, Tu Shenyi opened his mouth fully, and the sharp teeth for bloodsucking pressed against Jin Wucheng’s wrist… but his lips kept twitching, unable to bite down.

“Bite me… quick! Bite down! Bite!” Jin Wucheng angrily shouted: “What kind of bloodsucker are you? You dare not even bite? Useless!!”

“Get out!!”

Suddenly, Tu Shenyi let out a terrifying roar, causing Jin Wucheng to retreat in fear, stumbling and falling to the ground.

Unwilling, Jin Wucheng got to his feet, pointed angrily, “I’ve been by your side for over ten years, working myself to the bone… yet you still refuse to save me? Is it such a challenge just for you to open your mouth? Tu Shenyi!! I can’t stand this anymore!! Do you know the pain I suffer when the disease flares up? Do you know, the humiliation and powerlessness of relying on your medicine to survive each time? Tu Shenyi, why are you so selfish!!!”

“Get out… get out!!!”

“You forced me… you forced me!!!”

Jin Wucheng pulled out a shiny silver pistol from his pocket, crazily firing at Tu Shenyi, bullets piercing his body continuously, yet the strong regenerative ability of the bloodsucker still left him alive even after Jin Wucheng exhausted his ammunition.

After venting, Jin Wucheng left the place resentfully.

Karen Yisheer hadn’t spoken a word from start to finish, nor had she moved an inch, but the hatred in her eyes had reached a terrifying level.

…

Day by day, Jin Wucheng came, hoping Tu Shenyi would grant him new life, but every day, all he received was disappointment.

One day, Jin Wucheng was looking at an old photograph in his room, then suddenly collapsed on the floor in pain, his cancer had flared up.

He painfully smashed everything in the room, ultimately taking an injection and bottle from the drawer to administer the medication.

But now, madness had appeared in his eyes.

Indeed, he could not kill Tu Shenyi by gunfire, by cutting, and so on—yet there are many ways to kill a bloodsucker, as they do not possess a truly Undying Body.

At night, Jin Wucheng used a sharp machete to cut off Tu Shenyi’s limbs, then secretly took him out of the stone chamber.

He was finally placed in an iron cage and set on the top floor of the ancient castle’s West Tower… and thus Tu Shenyi saw the first ray of sunlight.

Strangely, it was silent—not because Jin Wucheng suddenly went deaf, but because Tu Shenyi didn’t speak.

He appeared calm, even as the slowly rising sunlight burned his body, he simply quietly watched the rising sun.

His body began emanating green smoke, ultimately, Tu Shenyi slowly glanced at Jin Wucheng, “I actually haven’t watched a sunrise in a long time… no matter past or present, sunrise is indeed a beautiful thing.”

Jin Wucheng had already succumbed to a sort of obsession and madness, he sneered: “Too bad the woman you love isn’t here… you’ll just disappear forever with that sentimentality and romance!”

Tu Shenyi continued to gaze at Jin Wucheng, suddenly murmured softly: “Actually, you’ve long been a bloodsucker.”

Jin Wucheng clutched the cage tightly, eyes widened, face twisted with madness: “I give you one last chance… if you give me True Blood, I’ll spare you… I’ll still work like a beast for you, I’ll be your dog!!”

“Do you know whose blood I first drank when I became a bloodsucker?” Tu Shenyi calmly said.

“That has nothing to do with me!”

Tu Shenyi looked towards the direction of the rising sun, slowly said, “It was a little girl, she got separated from her parents, and destiny led her to me. I was once like…”

“Don’t tell me this nonsense! You just don’t want to! You just won’t save me!” Jin Wucheng cursed him, angrily pointed, kicked around the cage furiously, “You think without you, I can’t save myself, huh!! Look what this is!! This is your stuff!! Now, it’s in my hands!”

Jin Wucheng pulled out an old notebook from his pocket, grinned: “I know the secret of ‘Forget Worry’!”

As if not hearing, Tu Shenyi muttered to himself: “…Sweet, fresh, or thick, like milk and honey. Sometimes delicate, sometimes spicy, like alcohol, but not bitter, yet can cause a slight burning sensation in your throat, warm… I was once like that…”

“Regrettably.”

His body suddenly burst into flames, Jin Wucheng silently watched.

…

…

The woman arrived at night, opened the ancient castle’s door directly with both hands, and rushed into the depths of the castle.

She only saw a black coffin, in the room, there was only Jin Wucheng standing there.

The woman gazed at the corpse in the black coffin, shed a tear, speaking softly with a voice as if shattered and hurriedly pieced together again, unstable, “Who did this?”

“I don’t know… I was knocked out, then…”

Jin Wucheng painfully lowered his head… he clutched his head, crouching in pain: “How could this happen… how could this happen… Tu Shenyi, you clearly promised to save me, why did you… why did you!! You lied to me!!! You’re not dead, are you!!”

Jin Wucheng roared madly at the black coffin.

“Enough!!” The woman waved her hand, harshly pushing Jin Wucheng aside, his body slid towards the wall, the massive impact made Jin Wucheng cough up blood instantly.

“He promised to save me… he promised…” He just murmured, soul lost.

“Clues… any clues, quickly give me a reason!” The woman seemed to urgently need a reason to calm herself, but she could no longer suppress the sharp teeth exposed from her grief.

She collapsed beside the black coffin, staring blankly.

Jin Wucheng slowly stood up, staggering step by step, finally came before the woman, drawing a notebook from his pocket, “Miss Karen, I found this in Old Zhong’s room, the last few pages seem to have been torn away.”

She grabbed the notebook, quickly flipped through it, the last few pages indeed were gone, “True Blood… who could it be…”
