Chapter 879: Chapter 123: Forget Worry, Three Lives (6)

It was as if they had suddenly fallen into a spider’s lair—a lair of mutant spider monsters.

Especially the largest of the monster spiders, which suddenly crawled on the ceiling, almost tipping over, as it began to ooze some saliva from its gigantic mouthparts.

The saliva dripped onto the floor, instantly corroding a section, emitting white smoke in the process.

Xitacil’s gaze shifted and he suddenly said, “Be careful, this is one of Tu Shenyi’s terrifying experimental products! Its acidic saliva can easily corrode even alloy, and these spiders can rapidly reproduce small spiders. These small spiders move quickly and carry strong toxins; once entangled, it’s no joke.”

“Already entangled.” Luo Qiu shook his head.

Xitacil was startled and then looked around in horror—the green light he had released for illumination had a limited range, but it could be moved to illuminate other places.

At this point, not only overhead but also underfoot… around them, these terrifying small spiders had unknowingly filled the space—even though they were called small spiders, they were the size of two fists.

They densely surrounded Luo Qiu and Xitacil, forming a circle and trapping them inside. Seeing this, Xitacil nervously took a step back.

As he retreated, the standing space between him and Luo Qiu was reduced, and the spiders on the ground immediately closed in and shrunk the enclosed space.

Suddenly, a terrifying small spider dropped down in front of Xitacil’s eyes from above, only to see his palm swiftly swipe across his body.

The dropping small spider was torn apart instantly.

Luo Qiu glanced at Xitacil’s hand, noticing that his fingers had become extremely sharp, resembling cones, with blood vessels protruding from his palm—a kind of body enhancement.

As soon as the first small spider was ripped apart by Xitacil, the crawling small spiders flipped into action. They moved with extraordinary speed, in the blink of an eye, they had crawled under Xitacil’s feet.

In the next instant, numerous spiders had covered Xitacil’s entire body, wrapping him up completely.

Only the sound of Xitacil’s screams echoed, struggling in pain, he swiftly fell to the ground, yet more spiders crawled over, forming a small ‘hill’ on the ground!

Having seemingly eliminated one threat, all the spiders, including the giant terrifying spider, turned their attention towards Luo Qiu.

Small spiders with density like marching ants in the desert began to turn their bodies collectively, starting to close in on Luo Qiu.

The giant spider overhead lowered its body, opening its mouth full of venomous teeth—no doubt, it could directly swallow an adult’s head.

The giant spider’s eight eyes were fixed on Luo Qiu.

When the first small spider touched Luo Qiu’s shoe, attempting to crawl onto his body, Luo Qiu suddenly said, “Don’t mess around.”

The giant spider’s eight eyes blinked in unison.

Luo Qiu continued, “Quiet down.”

The giant spider and the countless small spiders on the ground blinked again. Luo Qiu then pointed to the reservoirs one by one and said, “Stay inside.”

In an instant, the spider that had climbed onto Luo Qiu’s shoe crawled down, the spiders on the ground dispersed into a black curtain, and all crawled towards the surrounding reservoirs, like returning home.

No one knew how so many small spiders managed to squeeze themselves into several reservoirs… After all the small spiders had entered, only the giant spider remained.

It dropped from the ceiling, blinked again, next… then it frantically turned around and almost leaped into one of the reservoirs—how many small spiders it crushed in doing so was unknown.

Luo Qiu then walked to the place where Xitacil had fallen, seeing only a black vest left behind by Xitacil, though the vest was severely damaged.

Luo Qiu picked up the vest and took a glance… besides that, no other trace of Xitacil was visible.

“Left quite quickly.” Luo Qiu shook his head, casually threw the vest to the ground, then turned to look at one of the reservoirs.

The giant spider poked its head out, but when it saw Luo Qiu watching, it immediately shrunk back.

Luo Qiu scanned the surroundings briefly, found a path, and walked out.

The giant spider once again poked its head out, unable to see Luo Qiu’s trace… it suddenly drooped its head, despite its not-very-developed contents, it was still pondering a question.

How long do I have to stay here? When can I go out? I’m in despair, I’ve just appeared! What can I do?

Better not go out, that guy… is terrifying!!

…

…

The mobility of zombies is very powerful. Although their movements are slow normally, once they find an object to attack, they seem to activate an engine within their bodies, becoming frenzied.

Especially when encountering Amunst—fresh blood and flesh, even though he’s an old man, his body’s vigorous blood energy is the greatest lure perceived by the zombies!

Zombies surged in, only to fall one after another under Amunst’s sword blade. This old man’s combat experience is exceptionally rich, he knows how to inflict the most damage on a zombie.

However, the surging zombies were overwhelming, pushing Amunst against the table—he had no place left to retreat, for he needed to protect Queen Elizabeth.

Engaged in a struggle with her bloodsucking instincts, Queen Elizabeth’s consciousness was muddled, unaware of what was transpiring outside.

“Tu Shenyi! Is this your doing!” The old man swung his sword, slashing down another zombie, and roared with anger, “If you cannot give me a reasonable explanation, I will pierce your heart with my sword!”

He knew this was a futile shout, but both frightened and enraged, he had to vent somehow.

Amunst suddenly raised his sword blade, as a slight glow began to shine faintly on it… but at this moment, Amunst abruptly seized up, instantly kneeling down, his face filled with pain, supporting his body with the sword blade while clutching his heart.

“Such a choice… at this… time…”

The powerful former Twelve Round Table Paladin couldn’t withstand the ruthless years—his body had early problems, especially with the increasingly frequent occurrences of heart disease in recent years.

A zombie took advantage, ramming into Amunst, its immense power knocked him to the ground, rolling him a distance of two or three meters.

A fishy sweet taste surged up Amunst’s throat… his internal organs were likely damaged. But just as he was about to spew out blood, Amunst exerted all his strength, covering his mouth—agonizingly, his eyes bulged, and he forced himself to swallow the internal injuries’ blood back.

Yet he kept his mouth shut tightly, so breathing became even more laborious… Amunst glanced at Queen Elizabeth, his mind relaxing slightly.

These zombies are attracted to fresh flesh and blood, and at this moment, Elizabeth’s bloodsucker blood is at its most active, overpowering her human side, so these zombies temporarily ignore Elizabeth’s existence.

But if I get bitten to death by zombies, what happens next won’t be hard for Amunst to guess—because this group of guys has no reason!

Amunst gritted his teeth and resolutely took out the potion bottle given by Xitacil, pouring it into his mouth without hesitation—this product from the Magician’s Association indeed has mysterious effects.

In an instant, Amunst felt the wrenching pain in his heart ease and settle, while a huge amount of strength surged from his limbs!

He felt as if he returned to his youth!

He stood up suddenly, sword raised, easily slicing a zombie’s body… The continuous strength flowing from his body not only restored Amunst’s energy but allowed him to unleash swordsmanship he hadn’t used in a long time.

He had long since ceased to be one of the Twelve Round Table Paladins… from the time he betrayed the Paladins’ creed, he lost the Paladins’ protective power and could no longer use the ancient power passed down—but even so, he remained strong.

Reinvigorated with power, Amunst immediately charged into the zombie horde with his sword.

His sword moved swiftly, so fast that all you could see were flashes of silver… Silver Lightning, that was Amunst’s former title. His swordsmanship was the fastest and most precise among the Paladins!

The slaughter was one-sided; when the last incoming zombie fell under Amunst’s sword, the old man finally relaxed and exhaled slowly.

But at the same time, the inexhaustible strength began to slowly fade away… The potion’s effect wouldn’t last long, but restoring one-tenth or one-twelfth of peak power was miraculous enough.

However… a new wave of zombies appeared at this moment.

Amunst’s face changed dramatically—having participated in zombie hunts in his youth, Amunst knew well that the horror of zombies wasn’t their extraordinary power, but their numbers, endlessly overwhelming, seeming impossible to kill them all, taxing your strength to the limit.

Many novice Paladin recruits, back then, died tragically under the endless zombie army.

“I can’t stay here.”

The thought crossed Amunst’s mind as he wanted to take Elizabeth away—however, when he turned around, he froze on the spot, his face expressing more than just fear!

Elizabeth was lying on the ground unbeknownst to him—fallen from the table.

And beside Elizabeth at this moment, a small bottle—already opened, its contents spilled!

It was the pure blood bottle meant to satiate Elizabeth’s hunger!

When did it fall… was it when the heart’s wrenching pain caused him to bump into the zombie?

Amunst stared in horror as Elizabeth suddenly opened her eyes, the pure blood exposed to the air, the scent of blood triggering her bloodsucker instincts.

This was the last straw that suppressed her human will!

Elizabeth abruptly opened her eyes and flipped over, her whole body crawling on the ground, her mouth moving toward the spilled pure blood.

“Elizabeth! No!!” Amunst shouted desperately.

But it was already too late—when the pure blood touched her lips, Elizabeth suddenly raised her head like a waking lion!

She bared her fangs, a deep growl brewed in her throat!

“Elizabeth…” Amunst suddenly spat out a mouthful of blood.

He had suppressed this congested blood for a long time, fearing it would provoke Elizabeth… but it was already too late.

The completely frenzied bloodsucker blood would grant Elizabeth terrifying power, but Amunst now had no strength to stop it.

She pressed close to the ground, now crawling toward Amunst like an animal… Amunst immediately took two steps back.

He wasn’t sure if he could subdue Elizabeth at this moment… Amunst’s face showed a hint of defeated pallor.

However, the blood he spat not only stimulated Elizabeth but also stirred the second wave of zombies—they suddenly became more frenzied, growling, rushing at Amunst without hesitation.

But this seemed to seriously provoke Elizabeth at this moment.

She abruptly turned to look at the advancing zombies… Suddenly, Elizabeth’s body emitted a large amount of red gas like steam.

She didn’t choose to feast on Amunst’s blood, but instead charged directly into the second wave of zombies.

With the bloodsucker blood activated, Elizabeth wielded immense power, requiring Amunst to exhaust years of accumulation to barely arouse her—not defeat her!

“Elizabeth…”

Amunst fell helplessly to the ground… The effects of the energy potion had faded, the feeling of powerlessness almost deprived Amunst of control over his body.

His vision blurred.

Only seeing the petite figure rampaging through the zombies, tearing them apart with simple brutality with bare hands.

“Elizabeth…”

Finally, Amunst could no longer hear the sounds of zombies, nor see Elizabeth’s trace. She ultimately didn’t come after Amunst.

Perhaps the last shred of her sanity urged her away, preferring to find other blood sources instead of the close Amunst.

He hoped so… but was equally desperate, for he was powerless to stop it all.

A sudden excruciating pain surged through Amunst’s body… He cried out as he saw a zombie biting frantically at his leg!

The zombie’s body had only the torso and left arm remaining, yet it still had the ability to move.

Elizabeth hadn’t eradicated the second wave of zombies; she merely tore through them before leaving.

Those zombies fallen on the ground, bodies torn apart, those with only half their forms, even just heads and necks, were finding every way to crawl toward Amunst.

Foot, calf, arm, waist… Each jabbing pain made the weakened Amunst cry out horrifically.
