Starting as a Blind Beggar and Becoming a God

Chapter 50 The Timid Little GirlChapter 50 The Timid Little Girl
”The day after tomorrow?”

Chen Huaian whispered to himself that he really wanted to see this so-called Shushan, the place that practitioners yearned for.

Huashan and Emeishan are as famous as Shushan, but they are far apart. From the map, if they go to these two mountains, it will take several years to reach them, which shows how far the distance is.

”Moo?” (You wanna go?)

”Go and have a look, and broaden your horizons.”

”Moo.” (Another pound of beef.)
Chen Huaian: “…”

”Waiter, another pound of beef...”

Chen Huaian and Lao Niu finished their meal and left the pub. Lao Niu ate too much beef, and if they wanted to have food for the next two days, they couldn’t rent a house, so they found a street and planned to stay there for two nights.

”Hey, another day of sleeping on the streets.”

”Moo.” (A little hungry.)
”How much have you eaten? You’re still hungry!”

”Moo.” (His food tastes really good.)
Chen Huaian shook his head helplessly. The old cow was a bit of a eater, but he didn’t care about that at the moment, because it was thundering...

”When it rains, it pours.”

”Moo.” (Looking for shelter from the rain.)
”You, too, don’t you have a home?”

A female voice sounded in their ears, sounding very timid. Chen Huaian had been paying attention to the weather changes before, and did not notice when a little girl appeared in front of him.

The little girl was wearing dirty and tattered clothes. She looked at Chen Huaian and Lao Niu timidly, looking at them with pitiful eyes. It was hard to imagine how much courage she had to stand up and speak.

Her words made people feel nervous. Chen Huaian frowned slightly and asked the girl, ”Where do you live?”

”I, I live in the dilapidated temple in the east, but there are bad guys there. I, I haven’t dared to go there for several days.”

The little girl didn’t know if it was because she was scared, but she spoke in a fearful and small voice.

”Did they bully you?” Chen Huaian asked.

”They said they would break my hands and feet and make me beg. I was scared, so I ran away.”

After hearing this, Chen Huaian frowned slightly. It was hard to imagine how a little girl could survive living here.

”Don’t be afraid, take your brother with you. There is no place to hide from the rain here. It would be bad if he got sick.”

Chen Huaian said that if it was true as the little girl said, he wouldn’t mind letting those so-called ”bad guys” die.

”But, but, they are so fierce... I’m scared.”

The little girl said timidly, her voice getting smaller and smaller towards the end. If Chen Huaian didn’t have extraordinary hearing, he might not have heard it.

”It’s okay, my brother knows martial arts.” Chen Huaian said.

”But, but, you are blind, aren’t you afraid?”

”A blind man also knows martial arts.” Chen Huaian said with a smile, ”Let’s go, it’s going to rain soon.”

Chen Huaian’s smile always has an inexplicable magic. When the little girl saw his smile, the fear in her heart instantly disappeared.

”What’s your name?” Chen Huaian asked.

”My name is Guan Guan.” Guan Guan looked at Chen Huaian and said. The fear on her face had mostly disappeared, and a smile gradually appeared on her face.

When Chen Huaian heard Guan Guan’s name, he was stunned for a moment.

”Guanguan?”

”Yes.” Guan Guan nodded obediently, ”My name is Guan Guan.”

”My name is Chen Huaian.” Chen Huaian said, saying his name.

”Chen Huaian? Can I call you Brother Huaian?” ”Of course.”

”Brother Huaian, are you really not afraid of them?” Guan Guan asked. As if she remembered the ferocious expressions of that group of people, Guan Guan’s petite body couldn’t help but tremble.

”Not afraid.”

Chen Huaian spoke decisively, seemingly with absolute confidence.

”Guan Guan, why are you living here? Where are your parents?” Chen Huaian asked. It was not right for such a young girl to be living on the streets. Moreover, there were many cultivators here. If Guan Guan was not careful and offended a cultivator, her fate would be very miserable.

Guan Guan lowered her head, and after a while, she slowly told her story, ”My parents said they were going on a long trip, and it would take a long time for them to come back.”

”But the night before they left, they were arguing so fiercely that I was so scared.”

”I cried. I cried for a long, long time...”

”But I fell asleep while crying. When I woke up, I saw my mother holding me tenderly. She said they were going to a very far place where someone needed them.”

”They left, and I waited for a long, long time.”

”I was so hungry that I could only pick up the rotten vegetable leaves that others didn’t want and the steamed buns that others had thrown on the ground.”

”Sometimes I would squat in a corner, wondering when my parents would come back.”

Chen Huaian listened quietly without interrupting. Guan Guan might not have talked to anyone like this for a long time. She kept talking, talking about her longing for her parents, and... her difficult life.

”Sometimes I wonder if it’s because I often break bowls. I silently say in my heart, I will never break a bowl again. Dad and Mom, when will you come back?”

”I can eat very little. One bun a day is enough.”

”I’m easy to feed, really, Brother Huai’an. I’m really easy to feed. I can be full with just one steamed bun a day. But, but, why don’t my parents want me?”

Chen Huaian touched her little head and said nothing. He couldn’t help with this matter.

”Moo!” (Take her to eat beef, quick!)
Lao Niu was calling out, wanting to take Guan Guan to eat beef.

Chen Huaian held Guan Guan’s hand. Judging from her pulse, Guan Guan’s health was very poor. Long-term malnutrition and hunger had left her health in danger.

”Guan Guan, I’m a little hungry, let’s go eat something.”

”Ah? Eating?”

Guan Guan’s doubts made Chen Huaian at a loss for words. Perhaps she hadn’t eaten for a long time.

Chen Huaian took her to a pub, the same pub he had eaten at before. When the waiter saw Chen Huaian and Lao Niu again, he hurried over to greet them. In his eyes, Chen Huaian was a big customer.

”Let’s have some good dishes, more meat, and a full range of styles.”

”Okay.” The waiter shouted, but suddenly he seemed to remember something and asked Chen Huaian, ”Don’t you want some wine?”

”No need, give the food to this little girl.” Chen Huaian said, pointing to Guan Guan who was standing aside. She had half of her head exposed. The waiter’s attention was on Chen Huaian and Lao Niu before, so he didn’t notice Guan Guan who came in with them.

“It’s this little girl.”

”Do you know him?” Chen Huaian asked.
”Of course I know her. Sometimes I give her some food, but it’s always leftovers. But this little girl hasn’t been here for a long time. I thought something bad had happened to her.”

”That’s it...”

”You go serve the food.”

”Got it.”

”Why didn’t you come?” After the waiter left, Chen Huaian asked Guan Guan, and Guan Guan replied, ”She was afraid of the people in the ruined temple. They said they would break her legs if they saw her, so she hid.”

After hearing this, Chen Huaian fell into deep thought...
