Starting as a Blind Beggar and Becoming a God

Chapter 22 Changing ChoicesChapter 22 Changing Choices
”Really.” Qin Yun said very seriously.

Chen Huaian turned around suddenly and asked Qin Yun at a very fast speed, ”Where can I get my eyes treated?”

Chen Huaian can only barely see half a meter. Although it has no impact on his life now, who wants to be a blind person for the rest of his life?

”Legend has it that there is a fairy island called Penglai. There is a herb there that can steal the good fortune of heaven and earth. If ordinary people eat it, they will be immune to all diseases and their lifespan can reach over 300 years.”

”If a monk eats it, it can improve his talent and essence. The effect is very magical. I think it may also have a miraculous effect on your eyes.”

”Penglai?” Chen Huaian murmured softly. He was not unfamiliar with this place. In the stories of his previous life, this place called Penglai was almost always known for its mystery and power. It was the place where immortals lived.

”Where to go?” Chen Huaian asked Qin Yun. If his eyes could be cured, he didn’t care how far the road was, how high the mountain was, or how long the river was, because he had enough life and he could gain immortality by playing the flute.

”It is said that if you start from here in the East China Sea, you will have to go east all the way to a sea area, and then you will find a place covered by mist on the sea. That is Penglai.”

”Keep going east...”

”It seems to be a journey with only a direction.” Chen Huaian said in his heart, with a somewhat melancholy tone, because he had never sailed on the sea before.

”Thank you very much.” After Chen Huaian thanked him, the system’s voice suddenly appeared in his mind, ”Ding - Penglai Road, host, please set off and head to Penglai.”

Chen Huaian was stunned when he heard the system’s voice, ”System, is this a task?”

The system did not reply to him. This was the first time the system gave him instructions for a similar task.

Chen Huaian looked at Qin Yun. He did not ask how Qin Yun got the news. He just assumed that Qin Yun heard it by accident while fleeing from famine.

”It’s okay.” Qin Yun said, and then stopped talking. The atmosphere suddenly became quiet.

Chen Huaian was the first to speak and break the silence, ”You don’t plan to stay for long, do you?”

”Yes, I found my relatives.” Qin Yun said calmly.

”We’ll leave after dinner tonight?”

”it is good.”

Chen Huaian didn’t know what Qin Yun was going to do, but he knew that this matter was very important.

In the afternoon, Chen Huaian blew the wind from time to time, and the flying snow fell on him. Seeing this, he couldn’t help but say: ”The snow is a bit heavy today.”

”Yes, it has never snowed this heavily in previous years.”

Time passed by minute by minute, and the speed of the snow falling did not slow down at all. Chen Huaian was busy preparing dinner in the kitchen. He cooked a little late today, and he started cooking after it was completely dark.

Although Qin Yun was a little confused because this was not in line with Chen Huaian’s usual style of doing things, she did not ask too many questions and just watched from the side.

A Tie and Bai Ling’er didn’t come these days, but Huang Yuan came once.

He came to ask Chen Huaian, ”If a person only knows what is learned from books, can he bring peace to the world?”

Chen Huaian did not answer him, but said something else, ”Don’t you already have the answer when you asked me?”

Chen Huaian returned the choice to Huang Yuan. The environment Huang Yuan grew up in had already told him the answer from the beginning, but his heart was not firm.

After asking the question, Huang Yuan bowed and left. A smile appeared on Chen Huaian’s face. He knew that Huang Yuan had a strong understanding, and he also knew that Huang Yuan already had his own answer.

Soon, Chen Huaian prepared the meal. It was very hot, but the snow in the sky was a bit out of place. It would float into the prepared food from time to time. Fortunately, the snow was not dirty, otherwise the food would be ruined.

Chen Huaian served seven bowls of rice. Qin Yun was very confused when she saw this and asked, ”There are only two of us, why did you serve seven bowls of rice?”

”There are guests.” Chen Huaian replied indifferently.

”Are there guests?” Qin Yun was puzzled. She didn’t remember Chen Huaian having any good friends. Even his neighbors didn’t like him very much because of his illness. How could there be guests?

”Then wait until your guests arrive before eating.”

”No, let’s eat first.”

Qin Yun frowned slightly when she heard this. She served the guests food but did not wait for them. This was not the way she had learned to entertain guests. But this was Chen Huaian’s home, so she listened to the owner. Qin Yun picked up the bowl and chopsticks, and Chen Huaian also started eating. Today, no one knew where Chen Huaian had tied the old cow to. He had disappeared.

Qin Yun asked Chen Huaian, but Chen Huaian refused to say anything. Qin Yun also understood that if Chen Huaian didn’t want to talk about something, no matter how much she asked, it would be useless, so she stopped asking.

”Have you finished eating?” Chen Huaian asked.

”Yeah.” Qin Yun nodded slightly. She felt that Chen Huaian was a little strange today, but she couldn’t put her finger on it.

”Ouyang Yun.” Chen Huaian suddenly called Qin Yun’s pseudonym. Qin Yun, who didn’t understand, hummed in confusion.

Chen Huaian rarely called her name so formally, which made Qin Yun feel very uncomfortable.

”You must be very tired.”

”What do you mean tired?” Qin Yun was confused again. She didn’t understand why Chen Huaian said she was tired. ”I’m not tired. Now I have relatives to take refuge with. Everything is moving in a good direction. I can’t wait to be happy.”

Qin Yun had always believed that Chen Huaian was just a blind man. What could a blind man do? Even though Chen Huaian’s behavior was strange today, she had never thought that Chen Huaian already knew her true identity.

”The betrayal from the Emperor’s uncle, the pressure from the enemy, the constant invading spies, and no one to trust, isn’t this tiring?”

Chen Huaian spoke word by word, and the expression on Qin Yun’s face gradually changed from confusion to shock. She didn’t understand how a blind man knew all this.

Then, she asked in a cold voice, ”So, how did you know this? Or are you a spy sent by the Yuntian Dynasty?”

”It doesn’t matter how I know this, but I can tell you for sure that I am definitely not a spy for the Yuntian Dynasty.”

Qin Yun frowned, ”When did you know that?!”

”I……”

Chen Huaian was about to speak when there was a rustling sound outside the door.

Chen Huaian looked outside the door and said, ”It looks like the ’guest’ can’t wait to come in.”

Chen Huaian turned his head to look at Qin Yun and asked, ”Why aren’t you leaving yet?”

Qin Yun had already sensed that there were five ninth-level Qi masters outside the door. Even she would find it difficult to resist them, let alone Chen Huaian, a blind man.

”You will die.” Qin Yun said. Only then did she realize that the five bowls of rice on the table were exactly the five people outside the door. She was so shocked that she didn’t notice it at all, but Chen Huaian knew it a long time ago.

Chen Huaian did not answer whether he would die or not. He said, ”Remember what I said before? Some things cannot be chosen, but some changes can be chosen. Now, I will help you change your choice.”

He said as he slowly walked towards the center of the courtyard, letting the snow fall on him, ”This time, I’ll consider it as paying you back.”

Qin Yun’s pupils trembled! ”It turns out that he already knew it. He knew everything.”

”Go, don’t come back, the Yuan Dynasty needs you.”

Chen Huaian’s words seemed to have a special magic. Qin Yun really left after hearing them without looking back. She knew how to make a choice.

She can clearly distinguish between an individual and the people of a country.

Outside the door, a burst of angry voices sounded after Qin Yun left;
”Damn it, what happened to that cow!”

”I do not know.”

”You three go in first. Don’t let her get away.”

”Yes.”

As soon as the three men entered the yard, they saw Chen Huaian wiping his crutches. Chen Huaian was wiping his crutches seriously without even looking up.

The three men felt as if they were facing a formidable enemy. Chen Huaian gave them a feeling of being dangerous, extremely dangerous. However, Chen Huaian seemed not to see them and was still wiping his cane, as if what was in his hand was not a cane but a magical weapon.

Chen Huaian did not move, and they did not dare to move either. The atmosphere was very subtle. At some point, Chen Huaian slowly raised his head, looked at the three people, and slowly said;
”Finally, it’s here...”
