Starting as a Blind Beggar and Becoming a God

Chapter 12 TrialChapter 12 Trial
Passersby did not dare to stay for too long and left one after another. Here, Chen Huaian walked towards the dog step by step with no expression on his face.

Gou Zi is a person who bullies the weak and fears the strong. If it weren’t for the bucktooth man’s instigation, he would not dare to provoke Chen Huaian, even though he is a blind man...

”No, please, let me go, I’m willing to work like you.” The gouzi was really scared, and he banged his head on the ground so hard that he didn’t even notice the bleeding on his forehead.

The shock Chen Huaian had given him just now was too great, and he no longer had the will to resist. How could a blind man knock down a beggar with all his limbs intact in an instant?

All signs indicate that Chen Huaian is not a simple person.

The dog was still knocking on the ground, and Chen Huaian did not speak. He walked slowly, and his eyes wrapped in black cloth seemed like a murderous sickle, making people dare not look directly at him.

Chen Huaian walked past Gou Zi and gradually went away. He didn’t say a word from beginning to end. He just wanted to teach Gou Zi a lesson. He could even attack a blind man, so you can imagine how low his bottom line is.

Gouzi didn’t stand up until he could no longer see Chen Huaian’s back. He looked in the direction where Chen Huaian left, his eyes full of resentment, but it was fleeting. Then he looked towards the beggars’ den, a trace of madness spreading from the bottom of his eyes...

But Chen Huaian did not go home after leaving. He changed place and continued to play the music, still ”Wugui”. Wugui seemed to have a special magic, which always attracted some people to stop and listen to Chen Huaian’s music.

He continued playing until noon. Chen Huaian put away the flute and was walking on the way home. He heard other people chatting and frowned. There was a dead person in the beggar’s den in the west of the city.

”Brother, what happened in the west of the city?”

Chen Huaian stopped the man and asked. The man saw that Chen Huaian was a blind man and did not discriminate against him at all, so he patiently explained to him.

”There is a mad beggar in the west of the city. He killed another beggar and stabbed other beggars. If the city patrol hadn’t stopped him in time, I don’t know if he would have continued to kill.”

”A crazy beggar?” Chen Huaian frowned slightly. He suddenly thought of the beggar this morning. ”It can’t be such a coincidence.”

”How did you know?” Chen Huaian asked again. He was somewhat out of touch with the news, or he was too focused on playing the music this morning and didn’t notice some subtle changes.

”This is such a big fuss. I was just curious, why didn’t you know anything about it?”

Chen Huaian coughed awkwardly, ”Don’t worry about these details, how do you deal with it now?”

Although the man was puzzled, he still explained for Chen Huaian, ”He has been arrested and taken to the government office. He will most likely be executed. If you go there now, you might even see the county magistrate trying the criminal.”

”Thank you.” Chen Huaian bowed to express his gratitude. The man waved his hand and said, ”It’s okay.” Then he left. Chen Huaian’s figure disappeared from the street the next moment.

No one noticed him on the huge street, as if Chen Huaian’s existence was like air.

……

”Dog, why did you kill people!”

As soon as Chen Huaian arrived, he saw the county magistrate Jiang Liu trying a prisoner. His face looked stern, but there was a hint of sadness in his eyes.

Facing Jiang Liu’s interrogation, Gou Zi burst into laughter.

”Why do I kill people? Because... I want to kill.” There was a crazy smile on Gou Zi’s face, but his madness was far less than Chen Huaian’s.

Jiang Liu frowned slightly and said sternly: ”You will pay with your life!”

After hearing this, Gou Zi was not afraid at all. Instead, he burst into laughter. ”Why should I be afraid? I was just getting rid of harm for the people. Don’t think I don’t know what you did.”

Gou Zi changed the subject and pointed the finger at Jiang Liu. He had already given up everything and left no way out for himself.

Gou Zi’s words caused Jiang Liu’s expression to change slightly, but he was a man who had experienced many ups and downs, so this change was fleeting.

When Gou Zi finished speaking, Jiang Liu unconsciously pushed the gavel in his hand forward. Even he himself did not notice this tiny movement, but the subtle friction sound was heard clearly by Chen Huaian. Chen Huaian put the flute against his chin, looked at Jiang Liu in the hall with interest and said, ”There is still a secret.”

Chen Huaian turned his ear to Jiang Liu who was sitting on the high hall, and heard him say sternly: ”You vulgar man, if you confess now, I will give you leniency, but if you resist, I will give you severity. I can still consider giving you a lighter sentence.”

After hearing this, Gou Zi changed his usual beggarly demeanor and said, ”Leniency to those who confess, severity to those who resist? Are you talking about your son Jiang Pu defiling the girl from the Lin family? If that’s really the case, then I have to think about it carefully.”

Jiang Liu’s pupils trembled after hearing this, as if he couldn’t believe Gou Zi would say that. In fact, he was hinting to Gou Zi that if he spoke nicely, he would let him go, but Gou Zi didn’t understand, or he just wanted to go against Jiang Liu and spoke frankly about the Lin family girl.

The onlookers were shocked because this was not what they knew. They remembered that the initial investigation said that the daughter of the Lin family died for love, but they did not expect that there was a deeper secret behind this.

”Jiang Pu? Now that I mention this beggar named Gou Zi, it’s true that I haven’t seen him for a long time. He usually relies on his father’s authority to bully others. I don’t know how many young girls he has defiled.”

”Yes, yes, he is simply a beast!”

”Pah, you are worse than pigs and dogs.”

……

The people outside the yamen were talking, and Chen Huaian was listening. He also knew this man named Jiang Pu. He was a perpetual evildoer. If his father had not been the county magistrate, he would have died countless times.

”I thought he was going somewhere to cause trouble, but it turns out he’s hiding.”

”The people within a ten-mile radius dislike him, but he has a powerful father, so they can’t do anything about him.”

The people below were talking in low voices, and Jiang Liu in the hall had an extremely ugly expression on his face. He slammed the gavel and glared at Gou Zi.

”A murderer who deserves to be executed is lying in this hall. Come, give him fifty lashes of the cane.”

Jiang Liu spoke quickly. He wanted to shut Gouzi’s mouth, but how could Gouzi give him this opportunity? He had already thought of this result when he killed the person.

”Look, this is our judge, the judge who serves the people.” Gou Zi emphasized the last five words with a mocking tone.

Without waiting for anyone to drag him away, he continued, ”Are you in such a hurry to fight me just because I killed your son?”

As soon as these words were spoken, the whole place fell into deathly silence. Gouzi had no chance of survival after killing someone, and now he had killed the county magistrate’s son, which pushed him to a dead end.

Suddenly, the people outside the yamen realized something and started talking about it while being shocked.

”This dog just killed one person. Do you think it will...”

”Be sure, that is.”

”If you really have the courage, burn a stick of incense for him next year.”

”However, even his appearance has changed. Jiang Liu is really cruel. He has become buck-toothed...”

”Shh, keep your voice down. Don’t let anyone hear you. Be careful with your head.”

……

The yamen runners who were about to drag the dog also stopped. They looked at Jiang Liu. Jiang Liu’s face was so gloomy at the moment that they were frightened...
