Summoners War: Only I Summoned Divine Beasts

Chapter 1096: Life Lamp

”Can you please not go? Please... don’t leave me.”

There was a weird sensation in his heart, one that he had never felt before. Noelle had never shed any tears because it would confuse her sword. She would stand strong even against a massive wave.

Yet, seeing her in such a fragile state caused him to feel this way. To comfort her, the correct answer would be agreeing to her first before explaining everything later.

But he felt that lying to her just to give comfort would completely destroy her trust.

Nathan shook his head. ”No. I have to go.”

Noelle opened her mouth as if she wanted to scream, but no sound came out. She just gripped Nathan’s collar as if she wanted to ask, ’Why?’

”I have to go even if the world stops me.” Nathan shook his head. ”However, that doesn’t mean I will leave you because I will always be here...”

Nathan formed a contract in front of her, showing his innate ability to her for the first time.

”This is my innate ability, Soul Contract. An ability that allows me to do all sorts of things, including evolving Flora’s spirits and using multiple elements.” Nathan then grabbed her space bracelet and gently pulled it off.

[Nathan gives the right to the contract and the space bracelet as the medium as a sign of his life force. The contract will be annulled if Nathan loses his life force, and the 10,000 ena contained within this contract shall shatter the space bracelet. The contract will be fulfilled when Nathan says, ’I’m back,’ to Noelle Flamante and the 10,000 ena contained within this contract shall be returned to the world.]

Nathan couldn’t help but come up with this idea because of Noelle. He took the concept of the Life Lamp from Xianxia stories, showing the life force of someone. Of course, it would also show whether the person was still alive or not.

This time, Nathan specifically set Noelle as the condition to show he would be with her.

”I’m entrusting this to you, Noelle. I will be with you. That’s why, please keep this for me because I will return to you and fulfill that contract.”

Noelle was taken aback. Her hands were shaking, hesitant to take the bracelet. ”Am I... really qualified to keep this?”

”Then, should I explain to you whether you are qualified or not?” Nathan smiled.

”...” Noelle looked down before saying in a low voice. ”I don’t know how...”

”Don’t worry.” Nathan lifted up as they moved to the bedroom.

...

The next day.

Nathan woke up early in the morning. It was the day of their departure. When he glanced to the side, he saw Noelle. Her expression looked as if she had found her peace again. He might be wrong, but her lips might be curved slightly.

Still, she was holding the space bracelet as though it were her life.

A smile appeared on his face as he couldn’t help but leave a peck on her forehead before muttering, ”I’m off.”

After leaving the house, all dressed up, he found Flora waiting for him outside the house.

With a mischievous smile, she greeted him as though she had known everything that had happened. But she was probably happier because there was no need for a secret between her and Noelle anymore.

Nathan just pulled her cheeks to mess with that cheeky grin. She struggled before laughing without a sound so as to not disturb Noelle’s sleep. Then she hugged Nathan’s arm as they walked away.

Everyone else had been waiting for him at the gate. It looked like he was the one late this time due to him not having any sleep for the last few days.

It looked like there was no need for an explanation just from the looks on their faces.

”The rest of them are waiting for us at that place. They’re protecting our teleportation circle.” Evelyn pointed back with her thumb. ”Since you’re here, it’s time for us to depart.”

”Yeah.” Nathan nodded. ”Sorry for making you wait.”

”I will leave everything in Selena’s hands. Treat her words as if they’re mine. Flora, Sera. I hope both of you can continue to be with her and advise her. Alavenya, make sure to protect everyone well.”

Selena nodded. ”Don’t worry. I will definitely protect everything you’ve built so far. No, by the time you return, you will definitely be surprised by our growth.”

Sera agreed. ”I might be gullible, but I’m not a fool. That’s why you don’t have to worry about us. We will be able to exceed your imagination.”

Flora raised her thumb. ”That’s right. By the time you return, you might need Anubis to heal your jaw from dropping too much.”

”I might not be the strongest, but I can promise you I won’t let anyone die before me.” Alavenya assured him with a solemn face.

Vivian patted Nathan’s shoulder and nodded to him, telling him to trust them. Of course, he trusted them.

They would definitely survive this expedition and return.

”Thank you. This won’t be the last time we meet, so I won’t say goodbye.” Nathan hugged them one by one before saying, ”That’s why... see you guys soon.”

Once he said his farewells, he walked to Evelyn before nodding his head as if telling her he was ready.

Evelyn snapped her fingers, forming a teleportation circle. But before they could leave, Evelyn suddenly sensed a presence coming toward them very fast. It could only have happened if the other party had found them.

To everyone’s surprise, they heard a familiar voice. Yes, the familiar voice for everyone, whether it was for Selena or Evelyn.

”How dare you plot behind my back?! To think you have such an important expedition without telling me anything about it. I’m disappointed in all of you. Am I not your junior?”

A woman emerged from the woods looking very angry. They definitely recognized this person, but she shouldn’t know anything about it. Then again, this trip was definitely related to her, but she was angry because no word about it reached her.

However, that angry face turned into a crying face in almost an instant while she shouted, ”Sorry. Let me join this expedition please!”

”Melissa?!”
