Summoners War: Only I Summoned Divine Beasts

Chapter 1054: Qilin’s Insane Suggestion

”Is this your innate ability?” Evelyn asked. She never thought Nathan would reveal it in front of her. Then again, there was no other choice. A mixed emotion rose in her heart. On one hand, she felt touched that he was willing to go this far to save her. On the other hand, she felt sorry because she was the one forcing him.

Nathan smiled. ”Ask later. Let’s focus on your recovery.”

The curse had spread so far after all this talk. Seeing that over half of her body was being eaten by this curse, Nathan just wanted to speed up the process.

”Summoner.” Surprisingly, Qilin, who had been silent this whole time, stepped forward.

”!!!” Nathan turned to Qilin, wondering what he had to say. If it was something not important, he wanted him to wait until they were done with the treatment.

But Qilin actually brought another surprise by stating, ”With the memory I’ve got from you, as well as your ability, I think there’s something you can add here. Not the contract, but the way you utilize the contract.

”Since you will receive one minute of full control, I believe there’s something you can add.”

”Hmm?” Nathan squinted his eyes. ”What do you mean?”

”I’m talking about turning this misfortune into a blessing.”

It was a phrase he had read a lot in the past. A protagonist would turn their misfortune into a blessing with their plot armor.

However, Nathan didn’t know what he meant.

”Since you will gain her ownership, that means she will be something similar to a familiar, or even lower.

”In that case, you will be able to see the status. How about adding the skill to her skill list, Summoner?

”For example, a skill like Yin and Yang.”

”!!!” Nathan widened his eyes in shock. ”What are you talking about? Adding a skill? Can I even do that? I don’t think I can. Besides, what’s the point?”

Qilin smiled. If it were the normal Nathan, he would have figured out what he wanted to do. In the end, Nathan’s heart was already in shambles because he had wanted to rush the treatment.

”Yin and Yang is not about light and dark, good and evil, and other analogies. It’s about balance.

”The balance will create harmony, which ultimately turns into peace. If you add this skill to her status, won’t you be able to create a harmony for her two elements?”

”What?” Nathan dropped his jaw. Even Evelyn was shaken by that information.

”Yes, borrowing your words, it will be a passive skill. Fenrir has a lot of those. Turn this Yin and Yang skill into a passive one, which will harmonize the relationship between both of her elements.

”By doing so, she will be able to generate an even stronger power than she can right now.

”As for the details, I’m sure they will be similar to what we have right now.”

”Still... the concept is good, but...” Nathan shook his head in disbelief. ”...how am I supposed to do that? I can’t add a skill.”

”No, haven’t you done that, Summoner? I’m talking about all the familiars you have helped evolve before. You can use it.”

”My blood?” Nathan found the answer.

Qilin smiled. Since Nathan could find the answer, Qilin knew he had calmed down. Still, the suggestion was genuine. ”Yes. Use your finger like a pen and your blood as the ink. Create a new skill for her.

”You have underestimated your own blood. It contains all this karmic power, so it should be possible.

”While writing it, you might need to input all the necessary information about the skill like a normal skill.”

”...” Nathan could figure out what he wanted. If he used the Soul Contract as the template, he could probably give all the necessary information.

Since this was his first try, he shouldn’t make it overly complicated. Instead, it would only have one purpose, which was to harmonize the two elements in her body.

”I...” Evelyn didn’t know what to say. On the one hand, she didn’t want to burden Nathan even further. On the other hand, that might be what she truly needed. ”Nathan... I don’t—!”

Nathan covered her mouth with his hand. If this were the normal Evelyn, she would have kicked him.

Qilin’s suggestion was something he was personally interested in. If it could work that way, it would open up a new application.

No, he might even be able to add a skill himself. The only problem was how much ena it would cost him.

”I will try for now. If the ena is not enough, I will not push myself, Qilin. I don’t even know if it will be bad for me or for her.”

”Of course.”

”Still, thank you for the suggestion. I have never thought about that kind of possibility.”

”No. I should be the one thanking you for listening to my suggestion. I wish you to succeed in calming those two elements. They irk me.”

Ah... Nathan realized Qilin suggested it because that conflict just annoyed him. He maintained balance, so these elements must have been in his mind this whole time.

”I understand.” Nathan nodded. ”I will do my best.”

”To be able to modify things beyond the world’s logic... You’re definitely an interesting human. If my life can be used for something that is interesting. Dying might not be so bad at all.” Roggoth sounded amused.

Nathan smiled before lowering his head. ”As you’ve heard, we’ll proceed in that direction. Even if I fail this time, I might be able to do it in the future. Anyway, do you want me to change any conditions? I won’t accept it if you’re going to say no after all this...”

Evelyn wanted to reject his kindness because she was worried about him, but after his last sentence, she couldn’t help but ask, ”Does the favor you owe me still apply?”

”Yes.” Nathan nodded, thinking about the favor he got from receiving her teaching.

”Instead of removing my family name, do you think you can change it instead?”

”Changing your family name?”

”Yes.”

”I can try. If adding a new family name after erasing it is possible, then adding a skill might also be possible. In fact, this might be easier and perfect for the test.”

”In that case, I’m using that favor right now. Please change my family name.”

”All right. I will try, but I can’t guarantee it will succeed. What’s the family name you’re looking for?”

”You tell me.”

”No, you tell me... No, wait...” Nathan suddenly realized the meaning behind that sentence. ”Wha—!”
