Summoners War: Only I Summoned Divine Beasts

Chapter 1075: Growing a World Tree

After everyone heard the brief explanation, they were shocked at first. But before they said something, they fell into deep thought first.

Although they rarely worked together, Nathan wasn’t the type of person who threw a bunch of nonsense projects without any chance of success.

Silvania was surprisingly the first one to speak her mind. ”Do you know there are four basic foundations if you want to create a magical herb? No, maybe I should explain from the beginning?”

”Should I explain the herbs first, Senior?” Alisha asked.

”All right. I’ll leave it to you.”

Alisha nodded. ”There are four types of plants. The first type is a normal plant. They are like all the plants around us. The trees, grasses, and all the greenery you can see outside are classified as the first type.

”The second type is a magical plant. This type of plant has been exposed to magical energy for a period of time that it has transformed to be able to take magical energy into its body.

”The magical plants are what you’ve been using the whole time, from the ones that are used for your medicinal bath to the summoning. Ah, the magical energy I mean is ena for this world. Each world must have its own terms for magical energy, but let’s just use the general term in this world.

”The third type is sentient plants. All plants are living beings. They’re the same as animals, but most of them have their consciousness lower than other living beings, so you don’t even realize they’re reacting.

”This is different from the reaction of the self-sustaining mechanism, like closing their body or whatever.

”Instead, after being exposed to magical energy, their consciousness will grow. Ultimately, they will be able to create their own consciousness that will be able to communicate with us to a certain degree.

”If you see a tree that can extend its branches or roots, it belongs to this type.

”Last but not least, Divine Plants. This last type is like the world tree. We can talk to it directly through other methods.

”And Neft is one of those methods. Yes, once it turns into a divine plant, it usually creates its own spirit.”

Nathan nodded in understanding. ”So, you can become a magical plant after being exposed to ena, but how about becoming a sentient plant?”

”I will take over.” Silvania raised three fingers. ”There are three things that can aid a plant’s growth. The first is the nutrients. In this scenario, magical energy.

”It doesn’t necessarily get its nutrients from the air. The soil also has to be rich in magical energy.

”The second thing is age. The older a plant is, the more it’s exposed to magical energy. Of course, your plan regarding the domain might help, but this is not the only thing. If that place is lacking in magical energy, increasing their ages will be useless. You need all three things if you want to transform a plant.

”The last one you need is none other than protection. Once the plant doesn’t have to protect itself, the plant won’t have to worry about its defense, allowing it to focus everything on its growth.

”If you look at it this way, the plants in people’s pots usually grow because they are receiving the required nutrients and don’t have to protect themselves the whole time.

”You probably already know that your master has been growing a lot of magical plants.

”And I should probably first explain how we usually grow it.” Silvania started pointing at others one by one. ”First, we are searching for magical plants since we don’t want to wait for normal plants to evolve into magical plants.

”Once we’ve got this plant, we will then set up the garden. This garden has to be filled with ena both in the soil and in the air.

”For the air, I’m using my expertise to build a barrier that can keep the magical energy inside and suck the surrounding magical energy to replenish the supply for the magical plants.

”Ran used his ability to take care of the soil with his own method. He captured the magical energy from the air and even used other things as nutrients. It is similar to fertilizer, but we usually need cores for the fertilizer.

”Then, the dryad is the one supervising everything because she can talk, or more like, understand the plant. Thanks to her, we know what they need and what to do.

”Last but not least, Neft is the one ensuring nothing goes wrong.

”That’s why the herbs we produce are usually of high quality, but they don’t have such an old age. If you are planning to help us in that regard, then it should be possible to create an even better herb.”

Nathan thought carefully about it. They had meticulously planned out everything, but Nathan felt something was lacking. He wanted to recreate what was inside the novel because he knew it was much better that way, but he first adjusted his plan so that it could be adapted to this world’s mechanism.

With his soul contract, it was possible to recreate that domain.

Nathan explained, ”I have an idea, and I need you to check whether it’s possible or not.

”First of all, regarding the age, I don’t really have any problems. However, the soil itself is the problem.”

”I’m the problem?” Ran pointed at himself, confused.

”No, you’re not the problem. It’s just... Can I create a magical vein underground?”

”Magical vein?” Ran tilted his head, not understanding a single thing.

”Yes, it is similar to an iron vein, but this vein is supplying ena instead of iron.”

”!!!” Ran couldn’t help but gasp. ”A vein that can supply ena? It’s impossible.”

”It’s impossible unless I’m using my soul contract. After all, the world is the one supplying the vein, not me.”

Ran was completely shaken. ”The world supplying the ena... vein... This will feel like the soil around the volcano. It supplies the necessary organic materials to help the plants’ growth... If this is the case...”

Suddenly, Neft stopped him and continued his words. ”...That place of yours might be able to let even a world tree grow.”

”!!!”
