Summoners War: Only I Summoned Divine Beasts

Chapter 663: Report (Bonus)

”Letʼs shift our focus back to the mission, shall we?”

”Ah. Have you heard enough? ”Is there no other question?”

”Yeah. I have heard enough for the time being.” Nathan nodded. ”Besides, itʼs time for us to proceed with our mission. We still have a lot of time to talk about that, so letʼs focus on the mission first.”

”Got it.” Flora nodded. ”In that case, are we going to the mayor now? We came in the morning. It has been a few hours, hasnʼt it? My throat is quite sore after talking so much. Should we get something to eat, then head to the mayor?”

”Sure. There is one thing that we need to do before visiting the mayor, though.” Nathan agreed.

”One more thing?” Flora blinked her eyes a few times before her eyes flashed. ”Ah!” She reached out the buttons on her shirt with a clear intention.

”Why are you stripping?” Nathan facepalmed.

”Huh? Weʼre not doing it? You have done it with Sera when the sun is still up. Besides, itʼs dark right now due to the ash cloud, so…”

Nathan shook his head. ”Iʼm not talking about that. It should be time for our scout to return.”

”Scout?” Flora tilted her head, becoming even more confused.

Suddenly, they heard a knocking sound coming from the window. When Flora followed the origin of the sound, she found Jinwu right outside the window. ”Jinwu? No, wait. When did you summon him?”

Nathan casually opened the window to let Jinwu enter while replying, ”Jinwu has been here this whole time.”

”He summoned me right before we teleported. I sneaked into the teleportation circle, specifically in the corner. They probably thought I was just a normal crow, so I came here,” explained Jinwu.

Flora gasped. ”Eh. You didnʼt tell me anything.”

Jinwu glanced at Nathan, who nodded his head while saying, ”Give me the report.”

Jinwu paused for a moment, arranging his words. ”After coming to this place, I immediately took off to the sky to go around the town.

”As expected, the situation inside the town is not really good. Because thereʼs nothing to do, the people are becoming lifeless.

”Still, the situation becomes a lot worse because of those thugs. When theyʼre giving out food, people are lining up to get their food, but the problem is that… the thugs are robbing their food.

”Even the soldiers have a hard time dealing with them. In addition, their influence is extremely big in this city, so it has made the situation worse.”

”What?” Flora clenched her fists. That was right. Even though they could give them food, people might rob them, which would result in them dying from hunger.

Even Nathan had expected this after seeing the cityʼs situation. He couldnʼt help but remember that whenever a story wanted to show the thugsʼ cruelty, they would have a person ʼinnocentlyʼ give a beggar a lot of money, only to find that the person had been beaten by thugs even to death just to get the money.

Nathan closed his eyes for a moment while Flora banged the table with her fist. ”These bastards. Do they not know that the people have suffered and we still have common enemies, the aliens?”

Nathan shrugged and casually remarked, ”Youʼre a princess. You should know this well. Even in this situation, someone will probably host a banquet for the elites, no?”

”Thatʼs…” Flora opened her mouth before looking down, feeling ashamed.

Nathan turned to Jinwu. ”Have you found out their base?”

Jinwu nodded. ”Finding a base for a thousand thugs is simple. However, itʼs going to be a bit hard to infiltrate that area. In the end, a single building is not enough to gather all of them.

”They are creating their own area for them to control. And if you want to lure them away…”

Nathan frowned. ”Do you have any idea about the opposition? Any conflicts?”

”Not at the moment. Nothing happened when I went around the town. Still, I managed to find the other thing you want.”

”!!!” Nathan raised his eyebrows before a smile formed on his face. ”Good. This is really good.”

”What are you talking about? What kind of thing did he want to find?” Flora asked.

”A group of thieves, mostly kids from the slum,” answered Jinwu.

”What?”

Nathan explained, ”You do know about guerrilla warfare, right?”

”Of course.”

”What do you think their advantage is?”

”Knowledge about the terrain and their number.”

”What about our advantage?”

Flora pondered for a few seconds. ”Strength?”

”Nope. Itʼs our number.” Nathan raised one finger. ”If we want to lure them out, our presence alone is not enough. They will just think of us as being a random person that passed by their territory.

”On the other hand, what if there is another small faction that causes trouble for them?”

”They will aim for them?”

”Exactly. I need someone who is familiar with the terrain, as well as our enemies, to make our strategy effective.”

Flora crossed her arms. ”Still, thereʼs one problem. Even if we involve them, not only do we endanger them, but we also canʼt eliminate all the thugs, right?”

”Well, Iʼm not planning to eliminate every single one of them right away. I will just cut down 30% to 50% of their power. The rest of the people are useful for the last battle to kill their bosses.”

”!!!” Flora widened her eyes in shock. ”Is that why you want to fight in the city and spare so many people?”

Nathan grinned. ”Exactly. What we need is the location and all the traps we have. The mayor will have to aid us for the rest of the preparation. We have to do it in one fell swoop if we want to end it all. Do you know the location of their base?”

”Of course. In fact, they have been eyeing you two. They have set up several people to monitor your movement. Two of them are actually waiting outside the building. I have to distract them first before entering here, you know?”

”In that case, letʼs do it, shall we?”
