Summoners War: Only I Summoned Divine Beasts

Chapter 672: Sniper

”If we can use the soldiers, doesnʼt it mean we can make a more flexible plan?”

Nathan shook his head. ”Unfortunately, no. Iʼm only using the soldiers to create a perimeter and clean up the area. The rest will be handled personally by the two of us. Thatʼs the condition the Pope has given us.”

”The Pope!” She gasped. Then again, Flora was a princess, so it might not be that weird for the Pope to get involved.

”During the last battle, I believe theyʼre going to bring out all their summoners, so I have another task for your group.”

”Another task?” She tilted her head in confusion.

”Yes. I want you and the other kids to empty everything they have and bring it here. We donʼt want the soldiers to seize them after all.” Nathan grinned.

”Ah!” Iris understood, but she looked down as she couldnʼt accept the request easily. After all, even if they brought out all their summoners, they would still leave some people behind. If she accepted this task, the children would be in danger.

Nathan took out his gun and grabbed her wrist, placing his pistol in her hand.

”Use this.”

”What is this?” This was the first time she saw such a unique weapon. It didnʼt have a blade, so she wasnʼt sure how to use it.

Nathan held her hands, guiding her. ”Do it like this and aim forward. Then you pull the trigger.”

Iris tried it with her half-baked aim before pulling the trigger. The gun shot out a bullet made of ena and pierced through the wooden wall.

”This is…” Iris gasped. ”But Iʼm not a summoner yet.”

”Indeed. This is a weapon that allows you to use ena without being a summoner. There are a total of fifty bullets inside there, and I will give you another fifty bullets for assurance. All you need to do is change it like this if it runs out of ena.” Nathan showed how to change the magazine.

”You can use twenty or thirty bullets to get used to it. Itʼs not like itʼs hard to master that weapon. With this, do you still worry about it?”

”!!!” She gasped. ”There is such a convenient weapon? My lord… With this kind of weapon, canʼt you equip a lot of people and create an unbeatable legion?”

”What are you talking about? Even if I can, do you know that a single magazine is equal to 3 or 4 juvenile class cores?” Nathan sighed. He had considered such a thing, though.

”Ah!” Iris looked down. ”I guess itʼs not possible. Then, what if the position is like an archer? Unlike a legion of archers that can rain down arrows for a suppression effect, it will be a specialized archer whose purpose is to deal significant damage or a fatal blow.

”Fifty bullets are equal to 3 or 4 cores, so one core is like 12 to 16 bullets. What if we have a weapon that can shoot out a power equal to 10 bullets, which is strong enough to take down a single juvenile class? If a single shot is enough, itʼs basically a profit of 2 to 6 bullets.

”What if itʼs a much bigger opponent? The stronger the core, the higher the efficiency should be.” Her eyes lit up.

Nathan chuckled. ”Do you mean a sniper rifle? Well, a long barrel will allow more enchantment to be embedded on it, which can amplify the weaponʼs firepower even higher. Add a scope to help the aim.”

Iris gasped. Even Flora looked shocked. ”Have you even created a new type of gun? Itʼs only been a few months since you first created that unique weapon…”

Nathan shrugged. At the same time, as expected from the daughter of a family that took charge of the border defense, she definitely had an innovative mind to kill aliens.

She even cared for the cost, which was the most important thing for the weaponʼs mass production.

”Well, enough talking about the weapon.” Nathan waved his hand.

”Ah, my apologies.” Iris lowered her head.

”Can you do it?”

”Yes, sir. I will do it. Iʼll make sure to grab everything they have. We know a path that can lead us back here without being found by the soldiers.”

”Good. Weʼll complete the mission right there and bail out before the soldiers have the chance to inspect their place. How long do you need?”

”Three… No, two hours. I will empty out their storage in two hours.”

Nathan nodded. Fighting the two grandmasters, killing the rest of the people, and talking with the city guard captain should take about the same time.

”All right. Thatʼs our plan. I will adjust everything based on the development.” Nathan turned to Flora. ”You handle the negotiation and tell them the plan to those guards. I will be scouting the area. Iris, take care of the children. I will have my familiar on standby, so no need to worry about the children.

”However, we canʼt let them know about the familiars yet, so make them believe you have become a summoner and use some magical methods to convince them. My familiar will take care of the rest.”

”Yes, my lord.” Iris nodded furiously. ”But I have heard that the familiar can only manifest within a certain range from their summoner. And youʼre going to the farthest one…”

”Donʼt worry. Unlike others, his range is basically 3 or 4 times longer than normal summoners.” Flora waved her hand.

”If thatʼs the case, I will do my best. Iʼll arrange the children according to your plan, my lord.”

”All right. We will start in three hours.” Nathan stood up, followed by Flora.

Once they left, Aris, who had been silent this whole time, couldnʼt help but open his mouth. ”Big sister… Are you sure about this?”

”Are you not going to do it, Aris?” Iris asked.

”Iʼll follow you, even if it results in my demise. Itʼs just… youʼre the proud daughter of the Duncante family…”

Iris nodded. ”We have abandoned that name. Besides, that family is no more. Her Highness Flora is the crown princess. For the Azilia Kingdom to give up a person of that status to a commoner… that only means one thing.

”That person… I mean, the lord I serve from now on is too extraordinary. Her highness mentioned him being the only beast summoner in the world, this new weapon called ʼGun,ʼ that healing ability… Iʼm afraid this is not the extent of his power.

”The Liaystian Kingdom has destroyed the last thing we have, so itʼs better to go to the Azilia Kingdom and serve such a person.”
