Summoners War: Only I Summoned Divine Beasts

Chapter 660: Princess and Princesses

Before talking about everything, they first visited an inn and immediately booked the best room. Since there werenʼt a lot of customers after the disaster, the inn was doing everything they could to actually take care of them.

Of course, that also included privacy.

Nathan and Flora were sitting in front of each other.

Flora raised a finger. ”There are a total of 13 princes and princesses in this country: 8 princes and 5 princesses.

”However, you donʼt have to worry about every single one of them. There are only four people who have the qualification to become the next sovereign. Each of them has a connection and influence in this kingdom.

”Do you know that there are four territories that have been decided to become the rally point of the troops?”

”Yes.” Nathan nodded. ”Donʼt tell me, each of them is actually connected to them?”

”Yes. My father planned to use this to see the qualifications of the princes and princesses. In the end, our main priority is the front line. By creating a competition regarding the front line, he will be able to find someone qualified to rule the kingdom.

”In addition, he will be able to fight the aliens. This will result in the nobles participating in this matter and using their personal army to help their respective prince or princess. Basically, heʼs hitting three birds with one stone.”

Nathan squinted his eyes. ”With the nobles mobilizing their enemies, it canʼt be helped to have casualties. This will keep their power low, allowing him to keep them in check.”

”Thatʼs right.” Flora nodded. ”Of course, the first and most favorite candidate is me, the crown princess. As for the noble who supports me… I donʼt think I have to introduce him anymore.”

”Marquis Reyzar, huh?” Nathan crossed his arms.

”Indeed.”

”Still, if you suddenly drop out of the battle…”

”I know. A lot of people might become dissatisfied. However, allow me to take care of this. Although most of them are supporting me because they want a benefit after I become the queen, there are still loyal families who want nothing but the best for the kingdom.

”I will get their help and solve the issue with my succession, so you donʼt have to worry about the aftermath. Most likely, these nobles will just switch their allegiance.

”Meanwhile, those who are loyal to the kingdom will support my decision and not interfere with my daily life. Theyʼll probably try to protect me in one way or another.”

”Hmm…” Nathan fell into deep thought. ”If Iʼm not wrong, you once mentioned Marquis Dein. The place where I place the teleportation circle is.”

”Yes. Marquis Dein is helping the first prince. In terms of qualification, I should say that heʼs excellent, but not too outstanding.

”He can probably become a good sovereign, but Iʼm not so sure if he can handle a disaster at this level. His insight is rather shallow, after all. However, he is a summoner. He might not be as talented as me, but he is three years older than me.

”From the looks of it, he is actually using his strength to fight alongside the soldiers to rack up achievements on the battlefield. This will probably be his path to become the next king.”

Nathan crossed his arms. ”Thatʼs understandable. Even if oneʼs insight is shallow, if they can get good subordinates, it doesnʼt really matter… as long as their character is not shallow.”

”Indeed.” She continued, ”The next person will be the third princess of the kingdom. She has the support of Count Quill. She is not a summoner, but I canʼt say she is not capable. In fact, her position might be above the first princeʼs.

”After all, she has the support of the guardian of the north, Marquis Illiesta.”

Nathan raised his eyebrows. ”Marquis Illiesta? I felt like I had heard his name somewhere…”

Flora chuckled. ”What are you talking about? Have you forgotten about the invitation from the Silent Night Tea Party? Caroline Iliesta. The one who sent you the invitation was his daughter.”

”Ah!” Nathan blinked his eyes a few times. ”Wait a minute.”

”Itʼs as you thought!” Flora stopped him. ”If Caroline managed to do that, the third princess would probably get ahead. There was even an idea of her marrying you. With your help, becoming the next sovereign is not impossible.”

”…” Nathanʼs eyebrows twitched. ”So, I have been dragged into it without me realizing it?”

”Well, I canʼt say itʼs entirely your fault, but you donʼt really learn about the politics and nobles in this kingdom. If you know that, you will probably realize the situation. Of course, I have also given a warning to her after that, not that you know about it.” Flora shrugged.

”Hmm…” Nathan scratched the back of his head. ”What about the last one?”

”The last candidate is the fourth prince. To be honest, I was supposed to lead the competition, but with me gone, it would be him.

”His backer is the lord with the biggest territory in the south, Duke Evan Crystal. His motherʼs sister is actually Duke Evanʼs wife, so he obviously gets his cooperation.

”As for his character… how do I say it? He is good, but not that good. I still like the first prince better than him, but he is capable… more capable than the third princess. Thatʼs all I can say, since I donʼt interact with him a lot.

”Although I have decided to drop out of the competition, I will just tell you about this. I have three main backers, which allows me to become the strongest candidate. The first will be Duchess Lena Ivorial, the one who has the biggest control over the maritime power of this country.

”The second will be Duke Coline Tash, who is actually standing toe-to-toe against Duke Sullivan, Noelleʼs father. He is also one of the five world class summoners this kingdom has.

”The third is none other than Duke Sullivan himself. Thatʼs why Noelle has been close to me the whole time.”

”Two out of five world class summoners, huh?” Nathan smiled wryly.

”Well, if you want to add Marquis Gideon, the man who is said to be the wealthiest in the kingdom, you will know why Iʼm ahead of others. Then again, I donʼt really trust a merchant that much. They might switch their allegiance if they see a much bigger benefit.

”As for the rest of the world class summoners, two of them accept only my fatherʼs commands, while the last one is actually under the fourth prince.”
