Summoners War: Only I Summoned Divine Beasts

Chapter 665: Offer

”If you do well, not only will I give you that pouch, but I will also fix this girl?”

”Huh?” The childrenʼs fear turned into confusion. Even the so-called big sister couldnʼt help but widen her eyes in shock.

They simply couldnʼt believe what they had just heard. It was an offer that no one would ever give to slum kids like them.

”Are you really going to heal her?” Her twin brother gasped. He hurriedly fell to his knees. ”Please. I will do anything you want. Please heal my sister.”

Several other kids seemed to follow suit, which surprised Nathan. He didnʼt expect that this girl was that important in these peopleʼs eyes.

”Everyone…” The girl felt ashamed and moved at the same time.

”Shouldnʼt we help them a bit to gain their trust?” Flora whispered.

”Hmm…” Nathan thought for a moment. He didnʼt really have to. After all, these children had stolen from him.

Helping them would make them too much of a pushover.

However, there was one more possibility they could have if they helped her first. It was to gain their trust, as Flora said. This trust wasnʼt really necessary if he just wanted to take advantage of them, but if Flora thought about the future, helping them first would definitely ease the tension between them.

Though, this might result in them having to worry about the childrenʼs safety as well.

After some consideration, Nathan asked, ”Can you form a small isolated space so that no one sees Anubis? Itʼs better for the kids not to know our identity yet. Even if they donʼt know us, I donʼt want to give unnecessary information before the mission.”

Flora nodded. She summoned the earth spirit and immediately summoned four rock walls, isolating them inside.

”Eh?”

”Whatʼs this?”

”Please stop it.”

”Donʼt hurt her.”

Flora ignored them and summoned the plant spirit. She covered her eyes this time so that no one could see what happened inside.

It was Nathanʼs turn to summon Anubis. He whispered, ”Can you heal her, not entirely, but only the part that needs immediate treatment? I will heal her again later.”

Anubis nodded and healed the girl according to Anubisʼ request.

He healed the broken arm and restored a portion of the leg. This way, even though she couldnʼt run, she should be able to walk even if it would be a bit unstable.”

”This is…” The girl felt Anubisʼ ena but didnʼt understand what was going on.

Only after Nathan recalled Anubis did Flora release the techniques and recall her spirits.

”You brute!”

”Uoohhh!”

The kids shouted at him, albeit not daring to charge at him because Nathan might kill them here. They felt helpless. This was also what happened when their big sister protected them from a noble.

They couldnʼt do anything other than watch their big sister getting beaten up by them.

However, the girl seemed to have realized what was going on. She stood up and shouted, ”Stop it, everyone!”

”!!!” The children were startled, but this was the first time they saw their big sister standing up one more time.

”What?”

”She… can stand up.”

”But…”

”Isnʼt she unable to use her leg for over a year already?”

The girl then fell on her knee and banged her head on the ground again. ”Iʼm sorry for everyoneʼs attitude. Please punish me.”

”Big sister…”

Nathan smiled. ”As I said earlier, I can fix you to the point where you can live the same as ordinary people again. You can even keep the money.”

The girl clenched her fists. She realized that the man might give them a hard task. If she accepted his offer, everyone might get hurt.

”Well, thatʼs the end of it. If you donʼt want to do it, you better run away from here. If you want to take some risks, stay here. I will visit again tomorrow and tell you what youʼre going to do.” Nathan turned around and glanced at the stolen pouch.

With a flick of his finger, the ena burst and knocked the pouch back to Nathanʼs hand. ”Before that, I will take it back.”

Nathan just walked away without waiting for their response. Once outside, Flora asked, ”Is it necessary to do it that way?”

”Yeah. Thatʼs the only way to do it. I believe you have sensed it as well, but that girl is a little too smart.” Nathanʼs expression turned solemn.

”Thatʼs indeed true. Besides, from the looks of it, she is knowledgeable enough to recognize us, along with the money. Is she a fallen noble or something?”

”Maybe? But even if her family has fallen, it should be over a year. Thereʼs no way to build such a relationship so quickly.” He shook his head helplessly. ”Besides, thereʼs a guy who looks like her. They might be twins.”

”Indeed.” Flora nodded. ”For such an intelligent kid, I guess itʼs better to give them a threat. To avoid making them hold a grudge, we are kind enough to give them a bit of benefit, such as healing her. And we have given them enough time to think about it.”

”Yeah. The reason for you wanting to pick that girl is…” Nathan squinted his eyes.

”Iʼm thinking about making her a retainer of our household. In the end, a summoner is a precious asset.

”We can take her in and let her study at the Frexia Academy. Once she develops her ability, she should be a good summoner.

”I know that all of us are strong, but itʼs better to have as many summoners as possible. After all, we will be able to delegate each summoner to a certain mission. Itʼs basically the symbol of status.

”You can imagine having a thousand master class summoners… What kind of prestige and strength do they have?”

”Fair enough.” Nathan sighed. He wanted the people around him to become arcane level summoners if not world class summoners. However, if they had a hundred master class summoners on top of them, the household would be much more secure.

Nathan nodded in understanding. ”Well, thatʼll depend on her answer. For now, I have set the foundation.”
