Summoners War: Only I Summoned Divine Beasts

Chapter 673: Progress

”Uoh! Kill him!”

”Kill him!”

The audience cheered as their eyes were fixated on the two masked warriors in the arena. The first one was a man wearing a tank top and short underpants, while the second one was a much more refined man with long hair. He dressed up with some tattered pants and a shirt, but it was enough to cover his skin as well as his—or more like her—chest that had been wrapped with bandages to hide it.

The second man was none other than Alavenya in disguise.

When the first person tried to punch her in the face, Alavenya leaped into the air and grabbed the personʼs shoulder before spinning her body and hitting the manʼs spine with her knee.

”Gah!” Blood leaked out of his mask as the man fell to the ring floor.

”Uoohhh!”

Alavenya raised her hand but didnʼt finish the guy off, which made some people cheer while some people ʼbooedʼ her.

The people threw some food into the arena as though they couldnʼt care less about that amount of food.

And everything was observed by Selena, who was also disguised as a man, on the side of the arena. She glanced around, wondering if there was someone she should be aware of.

ʼWell, two more wins, and Alavenya should be able to raise her rank and gradually pique the interest of the dark arena master.ʼ Selena thought before sneaking out.

Zellein City.

”Itʼs not good, Sera.” Noelle shook her head helplessly after returning to their room in the inn.

”Whatʼs wrong?” Sera asked.

”The security is extremely tight around the brothel and the orphanage. I canʼt see any way to break through without anyone noticing. Our objective is to deal with the manager of the brothel as sneakily as possible before hitting the orphanage after all.” Noelle sighed.

”I see. As expected…” Sera crossed her arms. ”In that case, itʼs time for Plan B.”

”Plan B?”

”Yeah. At first, I didnʼt want him to get involved, but I will call a saint here so that he will become our bait. He will take the credit for the brothel while we only get it from the orphanage.”

”I donʼt really care about the credits. Itʼs not like I want to be recognized in the Holy Kingdom.”

”Fair enough. I donʼt plan to become the next Pope either.” Sera shrugged. ”In that case, wait for me. Weʼll launch a sneak attack tomorrow.”

Noelle nodded. Your next read is at

Ellenwood City.

”Everything is in place.” Flora reported. ”He will arrange the soldiers according to your way, he said.”

Nathan nodded. ”Thatʼs great. Anyway, stay safe and hidden. Donʼt let them see our faces as long as possible.”

”Should we change our makeup and dye our hair to another color if they find us?”

”No need. We wonʼt have time to do it. Besides, the more confused they are, the more they feel they have been cornered. If they release everything they have without caring about anything else so soon…”

”I see.” She nodded. ”Anyway, Iʼll go to my post and wait for the signal to start.”

As Flora walked away, Iris returned a few minutes later.

”My lord. Everything has been prepared. Theyʼve agreed to lend us their places. Itʼs just… I have to pay for the room in the inn.

”I donʼt wish for them to stay close to this place.” Iris lowered her head. ”I apologize for wasting your money.”

”Heh? Putting them to the inn? Do you know them so well and want the best for them?” Nathan tested Iris one more time, wondering what kind of answer she had prepared.

Iris, as he expected, turned solemn as her voice became cold. ”No. I just believe removing them out of the picture will lower the possibility of our plan being known to them.

”By giving them a place in the inn without really saying anything about our plan, it will allow us to place them inside the inn for the next few days without raising any suspicion from them.”

Nathan smiled. In the end, the owners of those places werenʼt that close to her. They could be considered an acquaintance, but no more than that. After giving them enough benefit, that should be enough for them. There was no need to include them in their plan or relocate them together with other children to the new city.

She was much more talented than Selena in terms of management. It was to be expected from someone whose family is known as a fighter family, he thought.

Nathan nodded. ”All right. Has everyone gone to their positions yet?”

”Yes. We are ready. I will give them the signal to start the moment you give me the order.”

Nathan paused for a moment. ”Are you sure you wonʼt join them? From what Iʼve heard, you are the one teaching them about pickpocketing, right?”

”You jest.” Iris shook her head. ”Although I wish I could join them, I believe I should remain in the center, making sure that everything goes well. I have to manage their stamina and other things as well. Besides, my lord has entrusted me with the task of ʼhealingʼ them.”

Nathan smiled. ”In that case, I will leave this place to you.”

”Yes, my lord, please leave it to me.”

Nathan walked away but halted his steps for a second. ”Iris.”

Iris raised her head, confused. She wondered if there was something unsatisfactory.

However, Nathan stopped just to say, ”Good luck. Donʼt get hurt. Even with the healing ability, you will still remember the pain.”

Iris widened her eyes in shock. It was a word coming directly from Nathanʼs heart. In the end, even if Nathan managed to overcome his painful past, the scar remained in his memory.

The same applied to her. Even if she looked fine, the scar left by the destruction of her family remained.

Nathan had been strict and cold this whole time, unlike Flora. But after hearing those words, she realized she had been mistaken.

Her lips couldnʼt help but curve as she politely lowered her head. ”Yes, my lord. May lady luck bless you with her presence.”
