Summoners War: Only I Summoned Divine Beasts

Chapter 690: Assigned Roles

”What? Are you serious?” Fenrir gasped. Jinwu glanced at Fenrir. ”Is this the situational thing you mentioned previously?”

Nidhogg smiled proudly while Nathan repeated himself. ”Yes. Iʼll give Nidhogg 10,000 ena. However…”

Nidhogg proudly puffed his chest. ”Donʼt worry. I will take care of everything you want me to do.”

”You should have seen the five familiars he has, right? Who do you think is the weakest?”

”The weakest?” The familiars exchanged looks before anonymously voting for the same familiar. ”That zombie!”

”In that case, you fight that zombie, Nidhogg.” Nathan pointed at Nidhogg.

”What? If you give me 10,000 ena, I should be able to regain my teen form. Although it wonʼt be as big as my original form, it is still quite big. Besides, there are a few more interesting abilities I can use. Are you planning to waste my ability on that guy? Shouldnʼt you give that enemy to Anubis? He can take care of you this way.”

Nathan shook his head. ”No. Listen to me until I finish.”

Nidhogg hurriedly shut his mouth.

”I will activate the contract in the middle of the battle. This way, there will be a sudden surge of strength for you, which creates a big difference. Using this opportunity to your advantage, I want to ask you… Are you confident in taking down the zombie in a single hit?” Nathan asked.

”Zombie, huh?” Nidhogg turned to Anubis. ”Fenrir can suppress werewolves. Arenʼt you supposed to be able to suppress zombies? I mean, theyʼre kind of similar, arenʼt they? Iʼm talking about your mummies.”

Anubis nodded. ”Indeed. Well, to a certain extent. My direct control is over mummies, but the undead that still retain a portion of their human body is something I can influence. Although it wonʼt be as powerful as my absolute control over mummies, I can weaken them significantly.”

Nidhogg pointed at Anubis. Although he wanted to give Anubis the task so that he could challenge a much more powerful enemy, Nathan wouldnʼt ask him to do a meaningless thing.

Hence, Nidhogg planned to complete it no matter what, including if he had to make some assurance.

”If I combine my sudden increase of power with his suppression, I will kill that zombie in a single strike,” Nidhogg stated.

Anubis nodded. ”I can do that much for you. He took him away too quickly before or else that zombie would have died in my hand. In the end, the stronger the zombie is, the more resistant it is to suppression.”

Nathan crossed his arms. ”If Nidhogg is guaranteed to win, then we can proceed to the next one.

”Fenrir. You take on the troll and the Ent. Once Nidhogg eliminates the zombie, he will fight the Ent. Burn the Ent as well as the slum with your fire. Just control it to a certain degree.

”Anubis, send forth your mummies to stop the Dark Cat.”

Nathan ended it right there, causing Jinwu to ask, ”So, am I going to fight against the demon?”

”Yes and no. You and I will collaborate with each other to fight not only the demon and the summoner but also other summoners on their side.”

”All right.” Jinwu obviously had no qualms. This was a big task, so he was happy. This meant Nathan recognized him to be the most useful in this situation.

Anubis asked, ”Do you want me to activate my domain and let it overflow into the world? This will allow me to fight with my humanoid body just like the battle against the warrior class alien.”

Nathan shook his head. ”No. Focus on the black cat. If you have some to spare, you can use your ability on our enemies and weaken them so that we will have an easier time against them. For the time being, focus your Synchronization on Jinwu. Once Iʼm locked in the battle against their summoner, shift it to me.”

”I see. You want me to kill as many normal people as possible to eliminate any variables?” Jinwu understood his intention.

”Yes.”

”Can we go on a rampage in this place?”

”I think we have evacuated as many people as possible, so we should be able to destroy some stuff. Besides, rebuilding the slum will require manpower, so this will get the economy rolling after weʼre gone. I want to see what kind of effect it will have in this situation.”

They nodded their heads.

”Still, the problem is how to deal with their numbers. Even though they are weaker, those people are still summoners. They have familiars as well.” Anubis frowned.

”Iʼm aware. Thatʼs why Iʼll be the one taking them on. I have some plans to eliminate as many as possible, but those who remain have to be taken seriously.

”Once youʼre done with your respective enemy, you will either head to kill the rest of the thugs or intercept their summoner by yourself, depending on how the situation unfolds. Thatʼs for you two, Jinwu, Fenrir.”

”Got it.”

”Leave it to me.”

Nathan tilted his head to Anubis. ”As for you, conserve your ena. The soldiers might still clash with the thugs, so I want to save as many soldiers as possible. In fact, if these two are already stopping the summoners for us, you should immediately help the soldiers and leave the rest to us.”

”Understood.”

”Jinwu. How is the situation going on their base?”

”Theyʼre panicking obviously. The thugs are already aware that youʼre in command and planning to do something big. Theyʼre currently underestimating you, thinking that you donʼt have the capability of fighting them all.

”For the time being, theyʼre gathering around their base. Thatʼs all I can find right now.”

Nathan smiled. ”If theyʼre going to gather, itʼs perfect for us. Itʼs easier to kill a lot of people if theyʼre together after all. For the time being, you three should go back to your original position. Anubis, watch over Flora and Iris.

”Iʼll be here, preparing the countermeasure against our enemy. Weʼll begin our attack as soon as the sun is set.”
