Summoners War: Only I Summoned Divine Beasts

Chapter 691: Artillery

”Sir. They are asking us to reinforce this section.” A soldier came to the captain, reporting.

”Huh? Why do they want to reinforce this section? If we let them break through other areas, it will be troublesome. I guess those people with high status donʼt really care about the lives of other people.”

”No, sir. They have also asked about the evacuation of the people around the affected area. They claim the enemies will go in this direction. So, they want us to fortify the wall here.”

”…” The captain fell silent. ”Are they trying to send the thugs this way?”

He didnʼt know how they would do it, but if that could be done, they could limit their casualties. No, there might be an even better option.

The captain stated, ”We wonʼt reinforce this section.”

”But sir… The mayor…” The soldier didnʼt know what to do. If they disobeyed their order, they would be in trouble.

However, the captain shook his head and added, ”Instead, I will be giving commands from here. The rest of you will remain in your position. If they really can bring those thugs here, with me standing here, I can reduce the number of injured people on our side.”

”!!!” The soldier hurriedly saluted. ”Understood.”

”Go.” The captain waved his hand before walking away. ”Letʼs see… whether theyʼre able to pull it off or not.”

…

”Boss. Weʼre ready now! Our people have gathered here.” One of the thugs reported. So that they could see the boss giving the order directly, they gathered the people in an open area.

The boss climbed the abandoned fountain and declared, ”My brethren. Are you satisfied living inside this city? Are you satisfied with the life of being oppressed? All of us just want to live, yet the people and the world have turned a blind eye to our misery.

”This is the day where we will finally find the right over our lives. This is the day where we will stand up and fight for our rights. Today, we shall break through the soldiersʼ encirclement and show them who is the boss of the city.

”Unsheathe your blade. Tonight, weʼll turn this city red!” The boss gave a speech to raise their morale.

”Uoohhhh!” The people cheered. As people who lived in the slum, they knew precisely how hard a life could be.

With the promised new life right before their eyes, there was no way they werenʼt tempted. They took out their respective weapons, ready to fight.

…

On the other side of the street, a kid asked, ”Are we really going into their place? Wonʼt this be too dangerous, big sister?”

”Donʼt worry. I have this weapon with me. With this weapon, I can easily take down tens of thugs.

”We have been learning how to steal, so itʼs time for us to use our full potential and make this the last time we steal from other people.

”This is our start and stealing will also be our end. I know you guys are confused, but please trust me unconditionally just for this…” Iris lowered her head.

”If big sister has made the decision, of course, weʼll follow.”

”Thatʼs right. Big sister has been the one leading us, and youʼve never let us down. Let us be your strength.”

More and more children expressed their thoughts.

Even Iris felt moved by their sincerity and trust.

”Thank you. In that case, I will tell you how weʼre going to do this. Group A will become the vanguard. Weʼll explore the area and eliminate all threats left within the enemyʼs base.

”Group B will be carrying the bag filled with our loot. Group C will be helping with the loading and unloading.

”Once weʼre done, weʼll move them to our base before finally leaving this city for a better life. Understood?”

They all nodded their heads.

…

Flora looked up. The orange sky gradually turned dark as the main battle was about to begin.

”All the traps are in position. The moment youʼre making your move, I will use it as a distraction to activate the wall. The spirits are in position along with their traps, so I can go whenever youʼre ready,” Flora explained.

”They have gathered in that plaza. With this angle, you should be able to locate your targets.” Jinwu perched on Nathanʼs shoulder.

They were actually standing on top of the roof so that Nathan had a sight on his targets.

”I will get into my position then. I will try to kill some weaker summoners, but I canʼt guarantee I can kill all of them. Be careful, Nathan.”

”You too.”

Flora smiled and waved her hand before approaching the plaza and hiding in one of the houses near it.

Meanwhile, Jinwu stated, ”I guess youʼre planning to use the bullets and rain them down? You should be able to kill 30 to 50 thugs with that. If we take them by surprise, it can be more.”

”No. Itʼs true that bullets are strong, but normally, in modern warfare, we use them for closer combat.

”If we want to kill a lot of enemies, we donʼt really use bullets. We need bigger ones.” Nathan grinned. ”Unfortunately, I canʼt think of the possibility of me using an airstrike, but thereʼs a more traditional option.”

”And that is…”

Nathan raised both of his palms at the same time.

”Explosion and Explosion!”

Nathan summoned two bullets at the same time. Each of them was an explosive bullet that he usually placed behind a door like a bomb.

Instead of using them like a trap, Nathan actually merged the two massive explosive bullets. With each bullet containing so much power, the moment they merged, the rampaging energy went crazy.

”Kh.” Nathan gritted his teeth. Even Nathan had a hard time combining these two bullets, even with the new breathing technique. After all, he also needed to use it according to the new discharge technique.

That was why it took Nathan three minutes to form this extraordinary exploding bullet. Then, he split them up from one to four, four to sixteen, and sixteen to sixty-four.

”Itʼs time for an artillery strike.”
