Chapter 796 - 796 Defensive Counterattack

796 Defensive Counterattack

“Teacher Lin, if we do this, won’t it be equivalent to going against the television station? Won’t this be disadvantageous to us?”

Lin Yi smiled and nodded, although she wasn’t super capable yet, she had grown during this period of time.

It was not bad that she was able to spot these problems early.

“It’s not like we’re going head-on with the TV station. Don’t worry, just do as I say.” Lin Yi said.

!!
“After you finish writing, just send it out.”

“Got it, Teacher Lin.”

“Alright, go do your thing.”

The two of them walked out of the office. Wang Ran went to the workshop while Lin Yi returned to his car.

He fiddled with his phone and called Zhang Haiyong.

“Hello, may I know who you are?”

“Good evening, Manager Zhang. I’m Lin Yi, the president of Lingyun Group.”

“Oh, Boss Lin, hello,” Zhang Haiyong said politely.

“Manager Zhang, do you have time now? I want to invite you out for a meal. I have something to talk to you about.”

“What a coincidence. I’m having dinner with a few clients, but I still have five minutes before then. If President Lin wants to see me, we can talk over the phone, but I only have five minutes, so I have to apologize.”

“It’s so boring to talk over the phone. It’s best to talk face-to-face. Otherwise, some things can’t be explained clearly.”

“Aiya, then there’s no other way. Although I’m in Zhonghai, I really don’t have time to go over. I can only miss this appointment.”

“It’s okay. Manager Zhang is having so much fun. You must take care to rest. One might suddenly die if they often stay up late.”

“Hehehe, thank you for your concern, President Lin. You too. Don’t stay up late every day to write code. You have such a big business under you. If something happens to you, your staff might starve to death.”

“Thank you. I’m still young. I should live a little longer than you.”

Zhang Haiyong did not say anything else and hung up.

In the car, Lin Yi stretched and called Cao Jingqiu.

“President Lin.”

Cao Jingqiu’s tone was exceptionally calm, which was beyond Lin Yi’s expectations.

“I’ve destroyed Cisco, but you can still talk to me in such a tone. I’m very gratified.”

“You’re my investor and a shareholder of our company. There’s no need for me to make things difficult for my partner.” Cao Jingqiu said.

“Moreover, I’ve also thoroughly understood the situation between Longxin and Cisco now. I can see these things clearly.”

“I like people like you.” Lin Yi laughed. “Where are you? I have something to discuss with you.”

“After Seven.”

“What the hell is this place?”

“A bar. You’ll find it on the navigation app.”

“Wait for me there.”

Following Cao Jingqiu’s instruction, Lin Yi found the address of the bar on the app and drove over.

However, before he left, he gave Ji Qingyan a call and told her that he would be back later and to let her know that he was safe.

Half an hour later, Lin Yi arrived at the entrance of After Seven.

It was a little different from what he had imagined. It was not noisy and was rather clean.

When he parked the car and opened the door, he saw Cao Jingqiu sitting in front of the bar, elegantly raising her glass and chatting with a foreigner.

“Brother, make way. I’ve taken a liking to this woman. Don’t hunt here anymore,” Lin Yi patted the foreigner’s shoulder.

Cao Jingqiu reeked of alcohol and her eyes were filled with the gentle hint of tipsiness.

“What are you saying? I don’t understand at all.” The foreigner’s expression was very exaggerated. His face changed, and his acting skills were perfect.

“It doesn’t matter if you don’t understand, I can speak English.” Lin Yi said, “Pick your jaw off the ground.”

“Sh*t!”

The foreigner looked angry and stood up.

Lin Yi reached out and slashed the foreigner’s neck with a pocket knife.

The latter fell to the ground and fainted.

“Idiot, I can’t believe you still wanted to fight me.”

“Sir, our After Seven is a bar with a harmonious atmosphere. If you want to treat our guests like this, I hope you will leave,” the bartender at the bar said.

Lin Yi reached into his pocket and took out his Bugatti keys, slapping them on the table.

“Sir, please wait a moment. I’ll get someone to carry him away now.”

“Let’s go somewhere else.”

“Sure, I’ll follow you.” Cao Jingqiu smiled.

The other men in the bar stared at Lin Yi.

Were people so direct in picking up girls now?

He just had to flash his car keys?

When the two of them arrived at the corner of the bar, Cao Jingqiu indifferently said,

“What would you like to drink? It’s on me.”

“I’m driving so I can’t drink.”

“You’re afraid of that?” Cao Jingqiu looked at Lin Yi. “Who would dare to stop you in Zhonghai?”

“What are you talking about? I’m a good citizen.”

“If you were considered a good citizen, it would mean there are truly no bad people in this world.” Cao Jingqiu ridiculed.

“The last time you took the initiative to look for me, it was to scam the six pharmaceutical companies. Now that you’re here, who are you trying to scam?”

“Jaewon Electric Company.”

“An electric company?” Cao Jingqiu was surprised. “Treasure Island’s station electricity?”

“That’s right, that’s them.”

…

By the time he finished chatting with Cao Jingqiu, it was already past midnight.

After leaving, Lin Yi returned to the car and called He Yuanyuan.

“What happened?”

He Yuanyuan picked up Lin Yi’s call and said in shock.

“You’re still awake?”

“No, there’s been a lot of work at the company recently. I’m working on a report.”

“Stop bragging. I can hear the voices on the television. You must be watching a drama.”

“F*ck, did you really have to expose the truth? Can’t we save some face for each other?” He Yuanyuan complained.

“You called me in the middle of the night. Did something happen?”

“The 40 million USD invested by the Mitsui Financial Group will be transferred to Tonghua Electronics’ account by eight o’clock tomorrow morning. Write a public relations article under Longxin’s name with the main topic surrounding Tonghua Electronics. State that we have received 40 million USD from the Mitsui Financial Group. You can let the people from the public relations department come up with the content yourself and then check it after.” Lin Yi said.

“Right, then don’t forget to separate Tonghua Electronics from Longxin Technology, especially with regard to the division of finance and tax.”

“It’s a small matter. I’ll go to the company early tomorrow to deal with it.”

The division of finances and taxes was a very troublesome matter.

However, it was easier to take care of things with the court. With the scale of the Lingyun Group and Lin Yi’s influence in Zhonghai, this could be done with just a phone call.

If any ignorant people tried to stop them, they would be fired the next day.

“Alright, I’ll leave this to you.”

“Don’t worry, I’ll definitely complete the mission.” He Yuanyuan said, “If there’s nothing else, I’ll hang up first. I’m going to watch a drama.”

“What time is it? Staying up late is bad for your health.”

He Yuanyuan chuckled. “Thank you, Boss. I’ll be done in ten minutes. Then, I’ll go to bed.”

“I’m not concerned about your health. I’m just afraid that you’ll suddenly die from staying up late and delay my business.”

“Damn!”
