Chapter 792 - 792 An Unexpected Price

792 An Unexpected Price

“Young man, what are you talking about? Didn’t you want to buy yellow peaches? We’re here to sell them to you. Why are you saying that we’re playing tricks?”

“You’re probably selling it so cheaply because you want to sell fakes,” Lin Yi said casually. “I’ve encountered this kind of thing before. Let’s be honest here.”

“If you say that, you’re really wronging us. You can hand-pick our peaches one by one. Take whatever you like. If there’s a bad one, send it back to me.”

These words intrigued Lin Yi.

!!
If they didn’t have any confidence, they probably wouldn’t have dared to say that.

“Brother Lin, the peaches their family sells are much cheaper than the others. Since we’re already here, why don’t we go over and take a look?” Zhang Xiaoyu said.

“Let’s go and take a look.”

They were led by the middle-aged couple for more than ten minutes before arriving at a large warehouse.

The temperature in the warehouse was very low, so it was perfect for keeping food fresh.

Coupled with the effects of some preservatives, it could greatly increase the shelf life of the yellow peach.

However, this was not to say that they could be kept indefinitely. They had to sell it as soon as possible.

“Come in and take a look. Our peaches are all stored inside. Not a single one is bad.”

Zhang Xiaoyu went forward to take a look. The quality was indeed not bad.

However, she understood Lin Yi’s worry. As the saying went, there was no free lunch. Other people sold it at such an expensive price, but they sold it so much cheaper. If there was no other reason, no one would believe them. No one would turn down easy money.

“Are you sure all the peaches are okay?”

“Feel free to check. If there’s a rotten one, you can turn around and leave.”

Zhang Xiaoyu did not believe it and really took out a box. She flipped through it and found that there was really no problem with them at all.

Then, she randomly picked another box and flipped through it again to confirm that there was nothing wrong with that batch either.

“Young lady, don’t just flip them. Try one,” the middle-aged woman said enthusiastically.

Zhang Xiaoyu was honest and did not care much. She picked one up and bit into it. After tasting it, her eyes lit up.

“Brother Lin, this peach is super sweet. Try it.”

Lin Yi didn’t try it. From this series of conversations, he could tell that there really wasn’t anything wrong with what their family was selling.

However, it was very puzzling that the same thing was sold so cheaply.

“Your family’s things are no different from others’. Why are they sold so cheaply?”

“It’s been a while since I picked these peaches. If I don’t sell them now, I’ll lose everything. I have no choice,” the middle-aged woman said regretfully.

“But isn’t it the same for other families? They sell it for more than you.”

“Those people are stubborn. I won’t follow their path.” The middle-aged woman said,

“If you want to buy it, I can help you contact a truck, but you have to shoulder the transportation fee alone because I really can’t earn much money otherwise.”

Lin Yi didn’t care about money, so it didn’t matter how much the middle-aged woman sold it for.

It was just that this matter was interesting.

The entire village sold their fruits for 3.8 yuan, but she was sold hers for a whole yuan cheaper. He felt that something was wrong.

“Liu Laoer, what’s wrong with your family? Everyone else sells for 3.80 yuan, but you sell for 2.80 yuan. Are you deliberately going against everyone?”

Before Lin Yi could react, he saw more than ten people rush into the warehouse.

He looked at the middle-aged couple angrily, as if he wanted them.

Judging from their attire, they should be from the town.

“How much I sell it for is my business. It has nothing to do with you. No one can control this.”

The middle-aged woman put her hands on her waist. Her aura was not weak at all, and she looked like she was arguing with a group of scholars.

“But if you do this, won’t they prefer your price? How can we sell the rest of the yellow peaches in the village in the future?”

“That’s none of my business. Anyway, I’m only selling it for 2.80 yuan. Don’t talk nonsense here.”

“Alright, alright. Everyone, stop arguing.” The person who spoke was the middle-aged woman’s husband. “The price they offered is 2.1 yuan. If you want to sell it for 3.8 yuan, they definitely won’t accept it. Moreover, in another ten days, these peaches will rot. We can’t afford to waste time with them. If you can sell it, then sell it.”

“Even if it’s rotten, we can’t sell it to those people. If they can’t get the peaches, they’ll be the ones who suffer in the end. Let’s see who backs down first.”

“If we can’t sell our things, what will we eat and drink this year? They have plenty of money. Even if they can’t get our fruits for a good price, they will only earn less. On the other hand, what will become of us?”

“Even if we are a disadvantage, we can’t let them bully us.”

“You guys are stupid. Don’t drag me down with you. My son is still waiting for the money to pay his tuition fees. In any case, we’ll sell this batch first,” the middle-aged woman said.

“Alright, alright, everyone, stop arguing.” Lin Yi scratched his ear. “We’re here to buy your fruits. I also want to use your harvest to earn money, so I’ll take as much as you have. We’ll buy it at 3.50 yuan. That should be your ideal price, right?”

Hearing this, the people of Shuanghong Town were stunned.

There was clearly still room for negotiation, but he actually stopped right here?

“You want to pay 3.50 for these peaches?”

Lin Yi nodded. “We’re live streamers. We’re planning to do a public welfare live stream for farmers. We came over after learning about your situation. Since you’re all farmers, we definitely can’t let you lose money. Moreover, we think three and a half yuan is a suitable price. If you agree that there’s no problem with this, I’ll take all these peaches.”

Lin Yi’s words stunned everyone. After a few seconds, they smiled and looked at Lin Yi as if he was their savior.

“When will you send someone to collect them? Our peaches are all stored in the warehouse. Don’t worry about them.”

“I’ll arrange for someone to do this later. Go back and prepare first. When the time comes, we’ll calculate the money by catties. I’ll count it for you on the spot.”

“Alright, alright, alright. We’ll go back and prepare now. This matter has been confirmed. You can’t go back on your word now.”

“We’ll pay and deliver at the same time. Why would I go back on my word? I didn’t say that I owed you money.”

Everyone agreed with Lin Yi’s words. If he dared to play tricks, they would just not sell it to him. There was no risk on their side.

“That’s all for now. You guys go back and prepare first. I’ll bring my people over tomorrow. We’ll pay and exchange the goods at the same time.”

“Sure thing.”

Because he had never thought of profiting from this, the matter had progressed without any obstacles.

After settling everything else, Lin Yi and Zhang Xiaoyu drove back to Yangcheng.

“Brother Lin, I just estimated that the total weight of the peaches they harvested is about 2.1 million catties. Excluding the weight of the peach core, they weigh about 2 million catties. According to the calculation of 500 grams in a can, we will have about 2 million cans. What if they can’t be sold?”

“If we can’t sell them, then we can absorb the cost ourselves. It’s at most 20 million yuan. It won’t be a bad idea to bring them back and give them out to the employees. In short, this isn’t a problem.”

“Brother Lin, you’re really impressive.”

“The other girls said the same thing.”

“But they were probably talking about something else.”
