I Get A Random New Occupation Every Week

Chapter 578 - 578 New Mission

578 New Mission

“President Lin, please wait a moment.”

Qi Xianzhao returned to his office, took the computer, and connected it to the projector in the conference room.

“This was yesterday. I saw a report on a finance website that explained our short-selling war with Huayin Group in detail and was blocked not long after this article was posted. However, I had previously saved a screenshot of it.”

“Let me take a look at the contents first,” Lin Yi said seriously.

!!
Lin Yi held his chin and read the article.

Just like Qi Xianzhao had said, he also smelled a hint of conspiracy.

The contents of the article pointed to the short-selling war between the Lingyun Group and Huayin Group.

The goal of this was nothing more than to start a war. He wanted to make use of the huge commotion on Didi’s side to snipe at Huayin Group’s stock value. This way, he could damage the relationship between the two families and turn them into mortal enemies.

This move was really brilliant. This also proved that Shen Shuyi’s worries were not unfounded.

“Did you find out who wrote this article?”

Qi Xianzhao shook his head. “I didn’t expect this article to be blocked so quickly, so I only caught the main content. When I wanted to check again, I couldn’t find it.”

“The financial site is one of the top websites in the country. It has always been known for its freedom of speech. For them to withdraw this article, it means that the person who contacted them is somebody significant,” He Yuanyuan said.

“That’s what I thought, but I don’t think this article was posted by an individual. The economic bloggers and low-level executives won’t know anything this deep yet, so it’s very likely that someone more powerful is behind this.”

“That’s for sure. Longxin developed the code for Chip 2.0. It’s already on par with Intel. At the same time, it has it’s hands in countless people’s cookie jars. It’s understandable that someone has come forward to mess things up for us,” Lin Yi said.

“Then, is it possible that Intel did this?” Tian Yan asked.

“That’s possible, but it’s unlikely,” Lin Yi said.

“Compared to the huge Intel, Longxin is still a rookie. Moreover, there’s a fundamental difference between the technology of Chip1.0 and 2.0. Our domestic research hasn’t been verified yet, so Intel doesn’t take us seriously. The person behind this might be a domestic company, but I’m not too sure who it is. You guys pay attention to this. If Cisco falls, higher-level capital will follow suit. Competition in the semiconductor industry is getting more and more intense.”

“Got it, President Lin. We’ll be careful.”

“Alright, that’s all for today’s meeting. I’ll get going first.”

Back in the car, Lin Yi rubbed his chin.

He was also extremely curious about the person who secretly posted this article.

The current Longxin was still far from achieving anything significant. Who was so far-sighted to start making plans so quickly?

Ring!

Just as Lin Yi was thinking about these things, his phone rang in his pocket. It was a call from Mother Wang.

“Mom, you wanted to see me?”

“Son, what are you busy with? Are you still in the hospital?”

“I quit. I’m getting ready for a new job.”

“This boy is too much. Why did you change jobs? Are you unhappy? Or did someone make things difficult for you?”

“Who can make things difficult for me?” Lin Yi smiled.

“Wasn’t there previously a scandal? Although after the incident, the other party came forward and admitted that they were the ones who falsely spread rumors, I felt that it was better to avoid suspicion, so I simply resigned.”

“So what kind of job did you change to?”

“I’m preparing to open a small shop. This lifestyle is easy and comfortable.”

“That’s fine. You don’t lack money anyway. You can do whatever you want. Just don’t tire yourself out.”

“Mom, did you call me today for something?”

“I’m fine. I was just asking how you’re doing. Have you called Qingyan in the past few days?”

“I’ve been so busy these past few days that I couldn’t take care of her. It’s strange. She hasn’t sent me a message for a few days. I wonder what she’s busy with.”

From the beginning to the end, Lin Yi had been creating a self-illusion that Ji Qingyan was not angry.

The reason for this was very simple: Since she was so dignified and cultured, if she didn’t believe him, it was her fault.

Moreover, her mother might have called to find out more about Ji Qingyan.

In short, everything was going according to plan and he could not expose anything yet.

“Son, where will your shop be? What will you mainly sell?”

“It’ll be a little restaurant on 89 Zhengyang Street.”

“Alright, take care of yourself. Don’t tire yourself out.”

“Got it. Don’t worry about it.”

“Yes, Mom will hang up now.”

After hanging up, Lin Yi drove to Zhengyang Street.

Ever since he had graduated, he had never come to this place again.

However, the prosperity of Zhengyang Street did not diminish because of the departure of that batch of university students. Instead, it became more lively and lively.

Tens of thousands of university students supported the one-kilometer-wide economic circle.

As long as the taste of the food was not too bad, it would not be a problem to cover their needs a place like Zhonghai.

Lin Yi drove to 89 Zhengyang Street according to the address.

He also found the small shop that the system had given him.

The flashy pink tricycle was also locked to the door. Many people passed by it, and it attracted a lot of attention.

“System, aren’t you being too stingy? You gave me the shop, but couldn’t you be more generous and have given me a plaque to go with it?” Lin Yi said.

“Even though I’m a human, you can’t be that much of a dog.”

[A plaque can be added. The host can make your specific requests.]

“Since you said this, I’ll make a request.” Lin Yi said.

“We have to come up with a more explosive name. We need to have customers see the plaque and feel that the food in our shop is delicious. They cannot help but want to come in and spend. This request isn’t too much, right?”

[It’s not too much.]

“Alright, I’ll leave the plaque to you.”

Making a plaque was a very time-consuming project. According to normal standards, it would take at least three to five days to complete.

If he let the system handle it now, he could save a lot of time and open the shop as soon as possible.

After solving the plaque problem, Lin Yi unlocked the door and walked in.

The shop wasn’t very large. All in all, it was less than a hundred square meters in size. There were six small tables inside, but the quality wasn’t good, and it gave off a cheap feeling.

The other decorations were not bad, and no changes were necessary.

However, the overall feeling of the place was pretty low-class. He needed to spend some effort on the renovation, or else he would not be able to justify the higher price of the dishes.

Lin Yi went out to take a look at his surroundings, and the pressure he felt multiplied.

On both sides of the street were more than a hundred restaurants, and they were not even close to the street.

According to Zhonghai’s standards of living, 30 yuan would be enough to buy a meal, and quite a good one at that.

On his side, a bowl of egg-fried rice cost 189 yuan. Even daylight robbery was not so bold.

Unless he sold his looks, this business would be tricky.

What a scam.

[Complete the upgrade and modification of the shop within 24 hours. Reward: 100,000 proficiency points.]

Hearing the system’s voice, Lin Yi straightened his expression.

No matter what, this was good to have a mission to do.

“System, I cannot ask others for help during the upgrade and modification process, right?”

[You can find someone to help, but during this process, the host must be the supervisor. The others can assist.]

“In other words, I can get help, but I can’t completely outsource it to the renovation company, right?”

[Yes.]

“Alright, that’s called rolling up your sleeves and getting to work.”

The time limit given by the system was 24 hours. The evaluation criteria were also with the system. If the system was not satisfied with the results of the renovation, the mission would not be considered to have been completed. Thus, he had to be more serious in tackling this.

Lin Yi looked around. The condition of the store was already pretty good.

There was no need for large-scale modifications, and since the system only gave him 24 hours, it was too late to modify it structurally anyway. He could only make some simple upgrades.

Therefore, it was time to use his imagination.

The furniture and furnishings inside needed to be changed, and it needed to be cleaned. This kind of thing required the help of a professional like Wang Tianlong.

Lin Yi called Wang Tianlong and briefly explained the situation.

Wang Tianlong quickly understood what Lin Yi needed and agreed. He immediately brought his men over.

Lin Yi was very satisfied with Wang Tianlong’s performance.

It was not tiring to talk to smart people.

After arranging the specific mission, Lin Yi rode his tricycle to a relatively large supermarket nearby. He bought a lot of cleaning supplies and prepared to start the cleaning.

After about half an hour, Lin Yi bought a cart full of things and pulled them back with the tricycle.

He was about to open the door and bring the things inside when he heard someone call from behind.

“Lin Yi.”
