I Get A Random New Occupation Every Week

Chapter 564: The Short-Selling Counterattack Began

“This has nothing to do with acting cool,” Lin Yi said.

“After such a thing happened, even if you can explain it, it’s not really necessary. Not only will they not believe you, but their impression of you will also worsen.”

“Are you sure of this?”

“Come, come, come. Look at this blackboard and remember what I’m going to say next. The three of you will definitely be able to use this knowledge in the future.” Lin Yi straightened his expression and said.

!!
“Let’s say that one day, you two are caught cheating on each other after marriage. Remember, don’t apologize. If you apologize, it means that you’ve admitted to it. Even if you two didn’t cheat on each other, you won’t be cleared of suspicion. This is because in a woman’s mind, an explanation is just a cover-up. A cover-up is a tacit agreement. Although it’s a very old-fashioned theory, it definitely holds true to this day.”

“That makes sense,” Gao Zongyuan said.

“F*ck, you really believe him?” Qin Han said.

“Look at the quality of the women around Brother Lin. Aren’t they all very fine? Even though it was exposed that they had an affair with other women, Sister-in-Law still took the initiative to publicize a public statement. Brother Qin, these are all technical skills. You have to learn them.”

“F*ck, that makes sense.”

“Therefore, the same rules are applicable if you have an affair. It’s useless to try to explain yourself. Don’t breathe a word.”

“If that’s what you really think, why are you here?” Qin Han asked.

“I’m not here to explain this,” Lin Yi said.

“I plan to announce other things to offset the impact of this matter.”

“Brother Lin, after listening to your theory, I feel like my entire body has sublimated.” Liang Jinming said.

“I won’t be afraid of having an affair in the future.”

“Be more confident. Don’t be afraid. Looking at the three of you, I’m sure you guys will definitely cheat in the future.”

“It’s the same for you,” Qin Han said. “Birds of a feather flock together.”

“You guys are common pigeons at best. I’m an eagle.”

“F*ck, where’s my gun?!”

Later, the four of them drove back to Lingyun Group.

Although the storm has passed, this short-selling game was not over yet.

Now, Didi’s shares had plummeted. If Zhao Mo and the others wanted to buy them back, they could make a huge profit.

Thus, there were two more things to do.

First, he needed to raise the price of the stocks as much as possible. The higher the price, the more Zhao Mo and the others would lose.

Second, he needed to buy back as many stocks as possible.

This would minimize the amount of shares in circulation so that Zhao Mo and the others will not be able to buy shares and return them to the brokerage.

At that time, Zhao Mo will be forced to buy it at a high price. However, it was impossible to estimate how much he would end up losing.

“Oh right, do you guys need spending money?” Lin Yi asked on the way back.

“Not really. We aren’t short on cash.” Gao Zongyuan said.

“There’s no need to hurry to return the billions I invested in you. Brother Lin, don’t worry about it.”

“You’re really a blockhead.” Liang Jinming said.

“Brother Lin didn’t say anything about returning the money. Instead, he wants to bring us along to earn money!”

“F*ck, if that’s the case, I’m definitely short on money.”

Lin Yi chuckled. “You guys definitely won’t be able to handle these yourselves. Go back and tell your old man to buy all the Didi shares I have. Buy as much as you can. I can’t say for sure when it comes to everything else, but I guarantee that they will earn more than 30% returns.”

“No way, we can earn that much money?”

“This is a conservative estimate. If your old man doesn’t believe me and thinks I’m bragging, tell him that this is a sure-win deal. If he loses, I’ll compensate them the losses.”

“There’s no way you will need to do that.” Qin Han held his phone and said.

“Muddy Waters is going to personally explain. Didi’s future share price will definitely soar. This time, we have to try to buy the shares even if we have to go bankrupt.”

“Why didn’t I think of this just now?” Liang Jinming said.

“We’re in a favorable position now. Let’s take the opportunity to make a profit while they still don’t know the news.”

The three of them took their phones and called their respective families.

At first, the old masters of the three families did not agree.

Didi’s shares had already fallen to such a state. Whoever bought it would suffer. Naturally, they were unwilling to step forward and take over.

However, after learning about Muddy Waters, their attitudes changed greatly and they all decided to start buying up Didi shares.

In this transaction, Lin Yi seemed to have lost out, but it was a win-win deal.

Lin Yi didn’t have much money left.

Therefore, he wanted to continue pumping the money he had borrowed into the stock market to reduce the circulation of shares.

This way, Zhao Mo would lose so much money that even his mother wouldn’t recognize him.

…

At the same time, the auditorium of the Peninsula Hotel was filled with reporters from all walks of life, Weibo verified accounts, as well as self-media stars and influencers active in the financial circle.

They were all holding recording devices and waiting for the press conference to begin.

More than half of these people were hired by Zhao Mo and the others.

This was to build momentum for this press conference.

Their goal was very simple. They wanted to see Lin Yi make a fool of himself.

Moreover, during this event, they would not give him a chance to catch his breath.

“There are actually so many people here. This was really unexpected.”

The person who spoke was sitting in a corner of the venue.

She was wearing plain-looking casual clothes, but she was old.

This person was Cao Jiadong, who had previously been beaten down by Lin Yi.

Apart from that, Cao Jingqiu and Cao Xiangyu sat on his left and right, waiting for the press conference to begin.

At this moment, Cao Xiangyu’s appearance was very different from before. His face had become thinner, and his aura had become much tamer.

During this period, Cao Xiangyu finally understood the difference between Lin Yi and himself.

At this point, even if he played a trump card straight from God’s hand, he might still not be Lin Yi’s match.

“I reckon that there are quite a few people inside. Zhao Mo must have gathered them.” Cao Jingqiu said.

“In this short-selling war, this event is the most crucial moment. He can’t miss it.”

“Muddy Waters is really amazing. They actually dug up so much negative news and destroyed Didi.” Cao Jiadong said.

“This will also have a lot of impact on the listing of Lingyun Group in the future.”

“Isn’t that nice though? They helped us take revenge,” Cao Xiangyu said.

“We’re no match for him, but Lin Yi won’t be able to survive now that Director Zhao has acted.”

“You can’t say that.” Cao Jingqiu said.

“Before this, Zhao Mo threw about 100 billion at Didi stocks, but Lin Yi absorbed it all. Ordinary people would not have the ability to do this. Just this alone makes Lin Yi more outstanding than we thought.”

“Jingqiu is right.” Cao Jiadong sighed.

“That’s 100 billion yuan. Only a behemoth like the Huayin Corporation would dare to play such a big hand.”

At this point, Cao Jiadong paused, “And only someone like Lin Yi would dare to challenge it.”
