Stop Fooling the Us, China Really is Doing This!

Chapter 398 Creating a Superman?President Biden’s gaze was like a torch, tightly locked onto every move Mr. L made on the screen, and he spoke:

”Agreeing so readily, you aren’t harboring some evil scheme again, are you!”

His words carried a hint of probing and vigilance.

Mr. L frowned slightly, a flicker of displeasure crossing his face as he replied impatiently:

”Must you haggle to be happy?”

His tone seemed to suppress inner anger, yet also appeared eager to conceal something.

President Biden’s mouth curled upward, revealing a meaningful smile:

”Since that’s the case, let’s discuss more detailed arrangements!”

Afterward, President Biden and Mr. L, separated by the screen, began a more detailed and intense discussion regarding the issue of the North-South partition, a matter concerning life and death.

To everyone’s surprise, Mr. L appeared extremely lenient. Whenever President Biden made further demands regarding territory division or asked for more land, Mr. L would only pause briefly before nodding in agreement, without the slightest hesitation or dispute.

As the territorial division gradually settled, the monster army in the south began to retreat in an orderly fashion like a receding tide, while the civilians in the north, organized by the military, began a massive migration southward, dragging their families along.

For a time, a North-South standoff was officially established. The civilians in the southern region, previously shrouded in war and fear, could finally breathe a sigh of relief, at least no longer having to live in constant terror every day, and could enjoy a relatively stable life for a while.

The high-ranking officials of the Eagle Nation witnessed all this and were shocked by the extraordinary courage and superhuman wisdom President Biden displayed in the negotiations with the monsters.

They whispered among themselves, genuinely believing that it was President Biden who, by his own efforts, had secured this hard-won situation for everyone, and their eyes were filled with admiration and gratitude when they looked at him.

However, President Biden was not deceived by this superficial calm!

His expression remained grave as he said to the high-ranking officials:

”Mr. L agreed too readily. I have a feeling they must have another scheme.”

”This is very likely just a delaying tactic on their part.”

The Secretary of State nodded slightly, adding thoughtfully:

”Do you mean that he just wants us to temporarily abandon the plan to activate our nuclear facilities, and then find a way to destroy our nuclear facilities without us noticing, only to settle scores with us later?”

President Biden nodded again with a heavy expression:

”It is very likely.”

”Next, they will either destroy our nuclear facilities by any means necessary, or they already possess the ability to be immune to our nuclear strikes.”

”The former’s intention is easy to understand, as for the latter...”

Saying this, President Biden shook his head slightly, his eyes filled with doubt and disbelief!

”I don’t think that’s possible. Possessing the ability to be immune to nuclear strikes is almost a fantasy!”

Everyone looked at each other. Indeed, in their understanding, being immune to nuclear strikes was almost beyond imagination. Any monster, as long as it was composed of carbon-based life forms, could not possibly fear the destructive impact brought by a nuclear explosion.

But this discussion also served as an alarm bell ringing in everyone’s ears, making them deeply realize that they must exhaust every means to possess the ability to counter the monsters before they return!

Just as they were deeply discussing the future crisis and response strategies!

President Biden’s new assistant hurried into the conference room, followed by another person.

The assistant, looking slightly flustered, walked to President Biden’s side and whispered:

”Mr. President, this person wants to see you; he says he has something very important.”

Everyone’s gaze instantly fell upon that person.

This person appeared to be middle-aged, wearing thick glasses that seemed to cover half his face, dressed in a slightly worn-out lab coat, with a messy, frizzy afro. He looked like a madman who had just run out of a Laboratory.

His pockets were bulging, filled with several test tubes containing unknown liquids, which clinked together with a faint sound as he walked.

The Secretary of State frowned, making no effort to hide his disdain for the man in front of him, and turned to reprimand the assistant:

”Why do you bring just anyone in here?”

The middle-aged man seemed accustomed to such gazes, calmly pushed up his glasses, and said in a raspy, duck-like voice:

”Do not blame this beautiful lady; it was I who begged her to let me meet Mr. President.”

His tone carried a hint of flattery, yet also revealed an unquestionable persistence.

President Biden looked him up and down, his gaze filled with a bit of doubt and curiosity, then asked:

”Whatever you want to say, just say it.”

The middle-aged man’s eyes lit up instantly, a look of excitement blooming on his face as he immediately said:

”Respected Mr. President, I have brought you a way to reclaim our homeland!”

As soon as these words were spoken, everyone was stunned, and the conference room fell into a brief silence!

Then, a low burst of snickering erupted.

The Secretary of State sneered and mocked him without ceremony:

”Just you? We have so many people racking our brains without a solution, what kind of solution could you possibly have?”

The man seemed not to hear, still immersed in his own world, slowly taking a vial of reagent from his pocket, then clearing his throat, and saying seriously:

”Please allow me to introduce myself first. I am a professor of genetic research at Harvard University; you may call me Professor Harry.”

”After the disaster broke out, I was lucky enough to obtain a piece of monster tissue sample, and using this as a research basis, I have been exploring ways to counter them.”

The Secretary of State interrupted him impatiently and asked:

”So, Professor Harry, what is your research result...”

Professor Harry seemed to be suddenly reminded, paused for a moment, then stammered:

”Um, sorry, I don’t have a concrete research result yet.”

Upon hearing this, everyone frowned, their disappointment clearly visible on their faces.

Afterward, as if eager to salvage the situation, he hurriedly added:

”However, before the disaster broke out, I was dedicated to genetic research, and this time I have also gained a lot of inspiration from those samples.”

”I believe we can try to obtain some special genes from those samples and apply them to the human body, thereby creating powerful new humans, or in other words... Supermen!”

His eyes flashed with a fanatical light, as if he had already seen the magnificent scene of his envisioned army of superhumans trampling the monsters and reclaiming the lost territory.

President Biden stood up abruptly from his seat, walked quickly down the steps, and slowly approached Professor Harry!

His expression was full of expectation, his eyes appearing as if he had seen a glimmer of light in the darkness:

”Professor Harry, is what you said all true?”

”Are you really confident?”
