Stop Fooling the Us, China Really is Doing This!

Chapter 378 The Immortal Gene? The monster’s corpse was securely transported to Su Chen’s Laboratory.

In fact, from the very beginning, it was Su Chen who had specifically instructed Elder Qin to ensure that the monster’s corpse was preserved.

After all, this monster was truly unique and differed significantly from the monsters they had encountered before.

After repeated checks and confirmation by the Mecha AI, this monster was completely dead; there would be no recurrence of the situation where previous monsters could find a new host and revive as long as a scrap of flesh remained.

Clearly, it had a fundamental difference from previous monsters in this regard.

Although it had lost that troublesome resurrection ability, its combat power seemed to have received an epic boost, making it unimaginably strong.

It was actually capable of unleashing attack methods similar to monster skills in video games!

For instance, the plasma that could instantly paralyze mecha was truly mind-boggling.

Su Chen was very curious about this and kept wondering: since it was clearly a carbon-based organism, how could it manage to unleash such peculiar attacks?

Could it be that its body possessed a structure similar to an electric eel, allowing it to generate and release plasma?

Coincidentally, during this period, Su Chen had just achieved a significant breakthrough in genetic technology!

Now he could use this big guy’s corpse to practice and thoroughly investigate what mysteries were hidden inside.

This monster’s corpse was personally escorted by Elder Zhao, who was extremely vigilant about it!

After all, he had seen with his own eyes how those monsters, even when chopped into pieces, could miraculously revive!

Therefore, he was particularly afraid that this monster would suddenly revive and harm Su Chen, such a rare scientific talent!

In his heart, Su Chen was a great treasure who could not afford any mishaps.

Therefore, he wanted to personally take charge of Su Chen’s safety; only then could he be at ease.

Su Chen, in fact, was not arrogant enough to think that this monster was absolutely safe!

In fact, he himself was quite cautious.

While preparing to study the monster’s corpse, he not only put on a Mecha Suit to protect himself comprehensively!

He even arranged for over a dozen Individual Mecha to guard his left and right sides, constantly vigilant against any unexpected situations that might arise.

However, Su Chen felt that it was really unnecessary for Elder Zhao to stay here with him!

After all, Elder Zhao was the captain of the Aerospace Carrier and shouldered major responsibilities; the Aerospace Carrier still needed him to command and coordinate.

Thus, Su Chen spent quite some time persuading Elder Zhao to return to the carrier. Elder Zhao was initially very uneasy and hesitated for a long time.

But in the end, under Su Chen’s repeated persuasion, Elder Zhao reluctantly agreed!

However, he was still worried about Su Chen’s safety, so he requested twenty more Individual Mecha from his superiors and specifically deployed two Space Mecha equipped with Space Warp Engines to guard Su Chen’s safety!

At the same time, he designated Su Chen’s Laboratory as a key alert point, so that the slightest anomaly could be immediately detected.

In this way, even if the monster did revive, what it would face would not just be the siege of hundreds of Individual Mecha as before!

The preventive measures formulated by the Dragon Kingdom were to use the Space Mecha to take it directly into space and then nuke it with naval guns!

In that scenario, it would be extremely difficult for it to escape alive.

After confirming that Su Chen’s safety was sufficiently guaranteed, Elder Zhao returned to the Aerospace Carrier with peace of mind to continue commanding various affairs.

As for Su Chen, he could finally calm down and wholeheartedly devote himself to studying the monster’s corpse before him.

Soon, through careful research, Su Chen discovered some unusual clues.

He discovered that the incredibly hard armor on the monster’s surface was actually formed after the original mass of flesh underwent mutation, and this mutation process was irreversible.

Previously, when studying the blood of those ordinary monsters, Su Chen had sensed that the genes within their blood were very strange and differed greatly from the known biological genes on Blue Star!

It was precisely because of these special genes that those monsters possessed the magical property of immortality.

Now, after comparing the genes of this mutated monster with the genes of the ordinary monsters he had studied before, a flash of inspiration suddenly struck him, and a bold idea immediately popped into his mind.

He thought, if he extracted the genes of this metal monster and fused them with human genes, would it be possible to endow the human body with brand-new, more powerful genes?

Furthermore, by drawing inferences, if he extracted the genes of those monsters with immortal properties and fused them with human genes, could that enable humans to also possess the property of immortality?

At this moment, Su Chen felt as if he had touched the threshold of genetic ascension!

This idea made his heart very excited, as if he saw a door to a whole new world slowly opening before his eyes.

However, Su Chen was also very clear that genetic fusion was not a simple project; there was inherent resistance between the genes of different species, and furthermore, this monster did not seem to be a creature from Blue Star. Its genes were abnormally strange. If something went wrong, and what was fused in the end was not some powerful new human, but rather a new genetic monster, that would be disastrous.

Therefore, this matter still had to be treated with caution.

Su Chen also felt that his idea was indeed a bit crazy, but on second thought, wasn’t the birth of every new technology started from seemingly crazy ideas?

Therefore, he did not immediately negate his idea but prepared to think about it carefully. Only under the condition of ensuring absolute safety would he proceed with feasibility experiments. After all, this matter involved major implications and could not be taken lightly.

...

On the Eagle side, seeing the Armor Monster taken away by the Dragon Kingdom just like that, the Secretary of State and others looked at each other, staring blankly, and then couldn’t help but whisper and discuss it.

”The Dragon Kingdom actually wants to study these monsters. They won’t end up researching something bizarre, will they!” a high-ranking official said with a face full of worry.

”Rather than worrying about that, I’m more worried about whether the Dragon Kingdom will master genetic technology that we don’t even know about through their research on these monsters. Don’t forget, the Dragon Kingdom’s technological strength is quite terrifying. If they really master some incredible technology, it will be even harder for us to compete with them in the future.”

Another high-ranking official frowned and said worriedly.

”Sigh, I’m telling you, what time is it now, and you’re still thinking about competing with the Dragon Kingdom? Right now, as long as that monster doesn’t suddenly revive and trigger an uncontrollable disaster in the Dragon Kingdom, that’s all that matters. Otherwise, if the Dragon Kingdom is finished, whose coattails are we going to ride? We are still counting on the Dragon Kingdom’s help right now.”

The person next to them heard this and couldn’t help but retort.

”You, you’re really overthinking it. When we were attacking that monster before, the Dragon Kingdom’s Space Mecha didn’t even make a move; they handled that monster entirely with those Individual Mecha. Not to mention they also have the powerful Electromagnetic Naval Gun. All I can say is that while that monster might be quite strong, the Dragon Kingdom’s strength is even stronger than it!”

”Speaking of Space Mecha, that thing is really strong. It was actually able to withstand the Particle Cannon fire from hundreds of Individual Mecha. Individual Mecha were already very strong, but I didn’t expect the Space Mecha to be hundreds of times more powerful. If we could also have such equipment, dealing with these monsters would be much easier.”

Just as they were discussing it heatedly and endlessly, the Secretary of Defense received the latest news regarding Maryland State.

His expression changed, and not daring to delay for a second, he hurried over to President Biden and reported the latest situation in the now-fallen Maryland State.

”Mr. President, the monster tide from Maryland State is surging toward us. The number... is at least several million, and among them, there is no lack of monsters that look particularly powerful!”

The Secretary of Defense said with an anxious look.

As soon as these words were spoken, the expressions of everyone present immediately turned ugly. One by one, they furrowed their brows, their faces full of terror and worry.

You must know that Maryland State was the closest to them, and those monsters were quite fast. Plus, they would pass through many cities along the way; perhaps even more monsters would join their ranks. By the time they reached The Pentagon, the number could very likely double. The consequences would be unimaginable.

However, compared to the panic of the others, President Biden was still relatively calm at this moment. He frowned, seemingly thinking of countermeasures.

At this moment, the Secretary of State spoke:

”We now have hundreds of mecha provided by the Dragon Kingdom, and Space Mecha that can support us at any time. Even if the number of monsters is large, it doesn’t mean we can’t fight them. There’s no need to be overly worried.”

President Biden, however, suddenly shook his head and said slowly:

”No! We will not deploy the mecha yet!”
