Stop Fooling the Us, China Really is Doing This!

Chapter 388 The past was practically a free giftThis land, which once symbolized the prosperity and pride of the US, was now shrouded in endless darkness and fear.

Especially where the Umbrella Corporation was located; it was as if it had been cursed by a demon, completely transforming into a hair-raising sight.

Looking out, countless monsters were like a surging black tide, layered and clustered beneath the Umbrella Corporation building.

They came in all shapes and sizes; some were as massive as small hills, while others were as agile as ghosts. Each one exuded a bone-chilling aura, as if a legion of demons had crawled out from the abyss of hell to gather here.

The area around the building had long been covered in all sorts of grotesque flesh masses and slimy fascia.

Those flesh masses were a nauseating dark red, as if they had been soaked in blood, and they twitched from time to time, as if they possessed their own life and consciousness.

They intertwined and fused together, forming an eerie sight.

The foul, rancid stench emanating from them permeated the air like a physical presence, making one feel nauseous. It was as if one were standing in a giant pile of rotting corpses, where every breath felt like a close encounter with death.

Even more shocking was the ability to clearly see countless blood vessels spreading out from the building in all directions.

These blood vessels were numerous and twisted, like tree roots, creeping and crawling through the flesh masses and fascia.

It was as if blood were truly flowing through them, being continuously transported into the building.

The high-rise building had long since lost its former majesty and upright stature; it had completely changed into something else, like a monster’s nest—dark, deep, mysterious, and exuding a terrifying aura!

On one side, there was a horrifying mass of flesh, like a giant abscess that had suddenly bulged from the ground, presenting an overall swollen and twisted form.

It was beating rhythmically, just like a violently throbbing heart.

The frequency of the beating seemed to be transmitting some kind of mysterious signal. Each tremor was accompanied by a slight distortion of the surrounding air, as if an invisible force were surging within it, making one shudder.

And amidst this terrifying scene, what was most horrifying of all were the countless Octopus Monsters.

Previous combat experience had already proven that it took over a dozen Space Mecha working together to deal with just one Octopus Monster.

These Octopus Monsters were massive, standing a full hundred meters tall. Their bodies were covered in a layer of incredibly hard armor, as if forged from steel, shimmering with a cold metallic luster.

Each Octopus Monster had three huge heads, and the eyes on those heads were like deep black holes, flickering with a cold, eerie blue light.

They had thousands of tentacles, each one thick and powerful, like giant pythons twisting in the air. When they swung, they brought with them whistling gusts of wind, as if they could easily tear apart anything that stood in their way.

Although in previous engagements with Space Mecha, the Octopus Monsters had been unable to inflict substantial damage on them in a short period, their powerful offensive capabilities and tenacious vitality made them extremely difficult opponents.

Especially when they entered a berserk state, they would launch indiscriminate attacks regardless of the cost. Individual Mecha and US Soldiers would often suffer heavy losses or even be completely destroyed in an instant under their attacks.

Their tentacles were like razor-sharp blades, capable of easily piercing through the outer shell of an Individual Mecha and crushing the pilot inside!

The blue beams they spat from their mouths possessed terrifying power; once they hit a target, they could trigger a massive explosion, instantly turning everything in the vicinity into ash.

One Octopus Monster was already this troublesome, but the number of Octopus Monsters in front of them was enough to make one’s scalp tingle; it was practically a colony of Octopus Monsters.

In comparison, these dozen or so Space Mecha seemed somewhat thin and weak, like a drop in the ocean. Facing such a massive swarm of monsters, everyone from the US side was filled with doubts and worries about whether they could turn the tide.

At this moment, seeing the scene before them, everyone seemed to have been hit by a freezing spell, as if their eyes were playing tricks on them, unable to believe everything they were seeing.

They even thought for a moment that they were dreaming or hallucinating; after all, such a scene was simply too unimaginable, too terrifying and bizarre.

However, they soon snapped out of this brief trance and realized they were not dreaming. Everything before them was actually happening, right before their eyes—so clear, so shocking.

Immediately, looks of horror appeared on their faces—a fear and shock that went deep into their bones.

Some US Soldiers with weaker nerves had their legs turn to jelly from the sight, and they fell onto their backsides on the ground.

His eyes were filled with despair and helplessness, and he kept muttering:

”So many! There are so many Octopus Monsters! It’s over! Let’s retreat quickly; we are no match for so many Octopus Monsters. Going over there is basically suicide!”

”Retreat! We can’t fight this! It would be one thing if we had the Electromagnetic Naval Gun, but our Electromagnetic Naval Gun has already been destroyed by the previous Octopus Monsters. Without the Electromagnetic Naval Gun, we are no match for them!”

Another soldier chimed in, his voice trembling with a noticeable sob.

”Damn it! When did this place become like this? This used to be the most prosperous city in our US! Now it’s practically hell!”

An officer roared in grief and indignation, his eyes flashing with anger and unwillingness, but more than that, with helplessness and despair at the predicament before them.

President Biden’s complexion had been quite poor. Ever since he saw the current state of the Umbrella Corporation, his face had been like ashes, devoid of any color.

Originally, after the Electromagnetic Naval Gun was destroyed, he had lost most of his confidence. Now, seeing the defensive strength of the Umbrella Corporation, he instantly felt as if he had fallen into a bottomless abyss, losing the confidence to continue fighting.

A strong sense of unease welled up in his heart, as if continuing any further would very likely cost him his own life.

This thought was like an invisible hand, tightly gripping his heart, making him feel like he was sitting on pins and needles, anxious beyond measure.

The Secretary of State’s expression was equally terrible. He looked at President Biden, his lips trembling slightly as he asked:

”Mr. President, the situation doesn’t look good.”

”I feel that if we continue, we risk being completely wiped out.”

”Our greatest reliance, those Electromagnetic Naval Guns, have been destroyed. We only have the shells left, but without the launching devices, there’s no way to use them.”

”Now, the only thing we can rely on is the Space Mecha developed by the Dragon Kingdom, but with so many Octopus Monsters, can they really hold them off? There’s just no way to fight this!”

At this moment, the Secretary of Defense, who had just snapped out of his shock, suddenly seemed to think of something. A look of determination flashed in his eyes as he said:

”Mr. President, I suggest we just nuke this place.”
