Beast Taming: Becoming a Bug-type Elite Four Member Starting with Silkworm Raising

Chapter 68 Source of CorruptionChapter 68 Source of Corruption
After biting the bullet and starting telepathic communication with Black Cloud Fly, Russell was surprisingly not disgusted.

The intelligence of the black iron-level pet beast is limited. The words coming from the black cloud fly are intermittent, and there is a hint of humor in the friendliness:

”Feifeifei... ahead... delicious food, let’s go together!”

Facing two new arrivals, the black cloud flies gathered for the purpose of inviting them to eat together...

This made Russell feel a little moved, but when he thought of the delicious food in the eyes of the black cloud fly, he couldn’t help but retched twice.

”What the hell is ahead?”

Patting his chest to suppress his vomiting, Russell then asked the black cloud flies.

”It’s delicious...as big as a mountain...can’t finish it!”

Hearing this description, his scalp couldn’t help but tingle.

The feeding habits of pet flies are mixed. They will eat almost anything, but they are very narrow. Their licking and sucking mouthparts are like toilet brushes and are almost only suitable for eating soft and liquid things.

Coupled with the nature of chasing fishy smells, it can be understood that fly pets only eat rotten things.

Their mouths are as big as mountains, and the delicacies they can’t finish eating are most likely an exaggerated mass of rotten matter.

The spoilage produced in nature at one time is usually not too much. What kind of spoilage can allow a group of black cloud flies to stay here for several years?

Could it be a garbage mountain...?
Resisting the urge to vomit, Russell led Liang Kun and walked carefully behind the black cloud flies.

However, at this moment, Ayou’s voice came from the beast control space.

Huhu——

What a fragrant smell!I really want to eat, take me to eat!

Hearing Ayou’s excited shouting, Russell felt his head grow bigger.

In the modern world, many butterflies have scavenging habits. In the world of beast control, the distinction between butterflies and moths has become much blurred. As a ghost moth, the UFO Hawkmoth is a species with scavenging habits. of moths.

”Don’t think about it, you’re not allowed to eat it!”

Russell was harshly critical of this horrific idea.

When he thought of Ayou lying on the garbage mountain eating haise and returning to the beast control space with a belly full of smelly food, he felt that he might have a nightmare.

Whoosh-!
want to eat!

”No!”

want to eat!

”...”

After several rounds of talking, Russell was very angry at Ayou, the traitor.

At this time, Liang Kun’s voice came weakly from the side again:

”Boss, if you continue walking, you will have to leave this orchard, and the gas mask’s durability is already over half...”

Although these black cloud flies did not seem to attack humans, if the gas mask failed deep in the orchard, he was afraid that he would faint and die.

”Black Cloud Fly said that the good things are not far ahead. Let’s take a look before leaving.”

But adhering to the firm belief that ”everything comes, it comes”, Russell still insisted on following the black cloud fly to see what happened.

Fortunately, pet flies usually do not have the ability to migrate long distances. They will only live in an area near their birthplace. After walking for another ten minutes, the two finally saw black clouds on a hillside behind the orchard. A fly’s word for ”a place with good food”.

It was a pothole with a small entrance. Because it was on the backlit side, the inside of the hole looked dark and slightly scary.

However, based on the slight smell that came through the cracks in the gas mask, Russell felt that the smell in the area did not seem to be as bad as in the orchard, and he even smelled a faint fragrance.

”It smells good but smells far away. What on earth is in this cave?”

Standing at the entrance of the cave and looking in for a long time, Russell couldn’t see anything. Russell always felt that it was not as simple as a group of black cloud flies randomly settling here. ”Delicious...inside!”

In the beast-controlling space, Ayou was still shouting, and seemed to be really attracted by the things in the cave.

”Would you like to go into the cave and have a look? It seems a bit too hasty...”

After struggling for a moment, between going into the cave to explore immediately or returning home first and deliberation over the long term, Russell ”sincerely” chose the latter.

”Thank you for the hospitality, come again next time, come again next time...”

Leaving behind the swarm of black cloud flies that were still warmly inviting them into the cave to enjoy a delicious meal, Russell and Liang Kun quickly evacuated the orchard.

On the way back to Fenglin Road in the Suspended Magnet Monster, Liang Kun first took off his gas mask and took a breath for a while, then whispered to Russell with a little excitement:
”Huh...Boss, according to my analysis, there is probably good quality cultivation material hidden in that hole.”

Liang Kun is a graduate of the Department of Plant Breeding. When he was writing the Civilian Breeding Encyclopedia, he consulted a lot of unpopular information. He knew a little bit about all kinds of strange and weird materials.

Hearing him suddenly talk about cultivation materials, Russell also became interested and quickly asked what materials they were.

”I feel... it might be Corpse Fragrance Night Orchid!”

With a bit of hesitation, but also a bit of confidence, Liang Kun said a name that seemed strange to Russell.

Listening to this somewhat evil name, Russell didn’t quite understand what Corpse Fragrance Night Orchid was at first.

But after hearing Liang Kun describe its various attributes, Russell’s expression gradually became serious.

Corpse-scented night orchid is a pure ghost-type material. From its name, it is easy to see that this ghost-type plant relies on the corpses of pet animals to grow. It can be called a high-end version of the dark lamp grass.

Different from the dark lamp grass, the corpse-scented night orchid grows directly on the corpse of the pet beast, rather than growing in the soil where the pet beast is buried.

In other words, this plant does not rely on soil to grow. From a certain perspective, it can be regarded as a carnivorous plant.

Precisely because of its habit of directly devouring flesh and blood to grow, Corpse Fragrance Night Orchid can almost completely inherit the various original characteristics of the corpse beast, and it often has miraculous effects on strengthening and understanding skills.

Moreover, the corpse-scented night orchid itself purifies putrid odors and emits a delicate fragrance, but the scavenging organisms such as black cloud flies it attracts tend to produce odors themselves.

This reverse odor circle can protect the growth position of the corpse night orchid from being easily exposed. After all, most people will instinctively focus on the areas where the odor is concentrated, mistakenly believing that the outer areas where black cloud flies are active are the areas where decay occurs. source.

”No wonder Ayou kept clamoring for food just now. It turns out there are really good things in the cave.”

Putting it this way, Ayou’s various behaviors just now are much more reasonable.

”What’s the point of picking corpse-scented night orchids?”

With a feeling of surprise, Russell asked Liang Kun again.

This kind of plant with peculiar nature often cannot be harvested directly from the leaves like ordinary fruits and vegetables. If the picking method is wrong, the effect will be greatly reduced, it is a trivial matter, and the picker may suffer backlash.

”I remember... the corpse-scented night orchid cannot be picked by living creatures, otherwise it will lose its activity and even emit nether toxins to poison all living things around it.”

Liang Kun thought for a while and revealed the taboo on collecting corpse-scented night orchid.

This requirement may sound a bit outrageous at first, but in the world of beast control, it is not difficult to achieve.

Living life forms are not enough. There are also mechanical life forms, elemental life forms, spiritual bodies, spiritual life forms, etc. to choose from. Renting any multi-armed mechanical beast will solve this problem.

”Another point is that the corpse-scented night orchid will emit a floral fragrance with confusing properties and gather some beasts of the same clan as the corpse to protect itself. If we pick it ourselves, we have to determine what kind of beast corpse it grows on. of.”

Compared with the restriction that it cannot be harvested from living animals, this second point is actually more difficult.

As a mid-level cultivation material, Corpse Fragrance Night Orchid must at least grow on the corpse of a fifth-level pet beast. If the group structure of this pet beast is similar to that of the Zerg, with one lord leading many of the same race, then it would be okay.

If it originally lived in a small family consisting of three or two of the same race, it might have to face the siege of more than one fifth-level pet beast if it entered the cave rashly.

Before actually entering the hole, Russell planned to prepare well.
