Beast Taming: Becoming a Bug-type Elite Four Member Starting with Silkworm Raising

Chapter 46 Exploration PlanChapter 46 Exploration Plan
The talent of beast control comes from the soul and mental power of the beast master. When the energy thread of the ”Cocoon of Evolution” connected with the spider silk, Russell immediately felt a slight tingling that spread rapidly from his fingertips to his whole body.

”hiss……”

Although these pink velvet spiders have not yet taken action against him, they have already prepared a back-up plan, quietly injecting spiritual toxins into the nearby spider silk.

If Russell hadn’t directly connected it with energy threads fused with soul power, this slow-onset toxin might not even cause stinging pain. By the time the poisoned person sees hallucinations, it would be too late to remedy and detoxify.

However, Russell was less than five meters away from the entrance to the secret realm at the moment, and he drank a bottle of mental antidote in advance, which allowed him to resist the invasion of a small amount of mental toxins for a while.

The reason why he took the initiative to connect the talent energy thread with the spider silk was to find some clues to crack the secret realm from the poisonous spider silk.

It has to be said that Russell’s adaptability worked very well this time.

Through several disconnections and connections at different locations, he soon discovered clues from the intermittent tingling sensation.

First of all, based on the fact that the pain from the five fingers is sometimes inconsistent, it can be inferred that even in nearby areas, not every spider silk has toxins.

Secondly, after some quiet and careful observation, Russell discovered that although there were dozens of pink velvet spiders watching him around, there was not even a pink velvet spider on the spider silk that transmitted the pain and the stalactites connected to it. Not even velvet spiders.

Combining these two phenomena, the answer is ready to come out:

It is possible that pink velvet spiders are not immune to the psychoactive toxins they secrete, so they carefully avoid spider silk soaked in toxins.

Of course, Russell didn’t dare to make any judgment based on mere guesses. He had to find an opportunity to verify it before exiting the secret realm.

After a quick glance around, Russell’s eyes finally fell on the little pink velvet spider that first talked to him.

”I’ll leave right away, little one. I’ll give you this meditation stone.”

Before setting off, Russell specially took some breeding materials that spiritual beasts liked from the Senluo Beast Control Research Institute in case of emergency.

Now, the fourth-level cultivation material, the Meditation Stone, in his pocket, which can help pet beasts stabilize their mental strength, comes in handy.

”want to……”

Sensing the steady and peaceful energy fluctuations on the meditation stone, the little pink velvet spider was very excited and hurriedly hung a spider silk from the stalactite.

Probably because he felt that Russell had no ill intentions, and since he was surrounded by his own group, the pink velvet spiders around him also acquiesced in this little spider’s behavior.

Reaching out to catch the little furry spider, Russell gave it a marble-shaped meditation stone.

”I’m leaving, goodbye.”

As he spoke, he pretended to put the little pink velvet spider back on a silk thread with mental toxins beside him.

”Be careful……”

Seeing this scene, the slightly larger pink velvet spider became anxious. It spit out a thick spider silk that could be seen with the naked eye from a distance, rolled up the small pink velvet spider and placed it on another spider silk without toxins. .

In this way, Russell basically confirmed his conjecture.

However, in these few minutes, the erosion caused by the active contact with the mental toxins had made him a little dazed. Before the hallucination appeared, Russell could only quietly exit the ”Dreamweaver’s Nest” secret realm.

……

After a space fluctuation, he reappeared in the Black Dew Forest. Seeing that his expression was not good, Dr. Natsuki, who had been guarding near the entrance, immediately rushed up.

Seeing that Russell had obvious symptoms of poisoning, Dr. Xiamu quickly took out the injectable antidote and gave him a shot.

”Communication is ineffective? Have you also been attacked by the poison of the spider beast in the secret realm?”

After Russell’s expression calmed down a little, Dr. Natsuki asked worriedly.

If even the ”Insect Whisperer” talent cannot communicate with the beasts in the cave, then the Senluo City Beast Control Alliance may have no choice but to cause a certain degree of damage to the secret realm and adopt tough methods to explore.

It’s just that this level is too difficult to control. After all, the spider silk is very fragile, and the level of the spider beasts in the secret realm is not very high. If one of them is not handled well, all of them may be destroyed. At this time, the tingling feeling in Russell’s mind had gradually subsided, but he had consumed a lot of mental energy in the process of resisting the mental poison, and now he just wanted to sleep quickly.

”Dr. Natsuki, communication is progressing, but I need to rest for a while.”

But seeing Dr. Xiamu’s face full of sadness, Russell still managed to keep his spirits up and gave him reassurance.

”Okay, okay, as long as there is progress, go back to the car and rest. Captain Meng and the others will be on guard nearby.”

Hearing that Russell’s exploration was not in vain, Dr. Natsuki’s face suddenly turned cloudy. He said hello three times and personally helped Russell back to the lounge in the armored vehicle.

On the soft bed, Russell, who was exhausted, fell asleep and fell asleep.

…………

When he woke up again, it was already nightfall.

Out of the great importance he attached to secret intelligence, Dr. Natsuki had been staying by the bedside for the past few hours. As soon as Russell opened his eyes, he handed over a cup of mental replenishing potion prepared in advance.

After half a day’s rest and medication, although Russell was still slightly tired, his energy was basically restored.

Sensing the anxious expression on Dr. Xiamu’s face, but fearing that he had not rested yet, Russell took the initiative to mention some of his experiences in the secret realm of ”Dreamweaver’s Nest”:
”The pet spider beast in the secret realm is called the Pink Velvet Spider. Its individual strength should be around the silver level. I found that they themselves are not immune to the mental toxins on the spider silk. This should be considered a weakness.”

”Also, there is a lord-level pet in the pink velvet spider group. Its mental power is very powerful. It feels like it is at least the level of a sixth- or seventh-level pet. However, it is hidden very deep. I couldn’t find its location just now.”

After saying this, Russell thought for a moment and then asked Dr. Xiamu:
”Are there any beast masters specializing in defense in the team traveling this time?”

Dr. Xia Mu, who was concentrating on taking notes, was slightly startled by Russell’s sudden question, and then nodded.

He remembered that one of the accompanying sergeants was a resident instructor named Tu Tiezhu. Because he worked in the city defense force and was often responsible for guarding non-combatants, he contracted a fifth-level defensive pet beast.

”Are you going to lead a defensive beast master into the secret realm this time?”

Hearing Russell suddenly ask about the defensive beast master, Dr. Xiamu probably guessed his intention.

It’s just that not long ago, this kid was saying that his insect affinity couldn’t be shared with his teammates. What tricks was he going to do now?
”Yes, based on the fact that the pink velvet spider itself will not move on poisoned spider silk, I can quickly identify the safe area in the secret realm, and the spiders that build webs in groups will not push the webs together in a chaotic manner. As long as I follow the distribution of security threads, I think I should be able to find the location of Lord Pink Velvet Spider.”

”A large-scale attack on the secret realm will cause unpredictable damage, but if the location of the lord-level pet beast can be directly locked, the high-level beast masters of the alliance should have their own way of ’persuading’...”

After drinking the last sip of the mental replenishing potion, Russell revealed his next exploration plan.

After thinking about it, he added:
”I remember that the Beast Control Research Institute has equipment that can detect mental toxins and alarm, right? Let me use it. It’s too difficult to test the poison with the physical body.”

After hearing the entire set of operations that Russell expected, Dr. Xiamu’s eyes were filled with joy and he nodded repeatedly.

He can keenly capture the most critical parts from the limited information center, and the ideas for arranging the exploration plan are also very clear. It is really a rare and good scientific research seedling!

Why does such a good seedling think about fighting and killing every day and insist on becoming a professional beast master?

What a pity, what a pity...

”Okay, I will ask Tu Tiezhu to fully cooperate with you.”

But what a pity, Dr. Natsuki quite simply agreed to Russell’s exploration plan.

After all, the Senluo City Beast Control Alliance had been busy intermittently for several years before, and the progress it made was no more than it did today.

However, he didn’t bring the instrument used to detect mental toxins with him in the armored vehicle, so he had to send someone to get it. Moreover, Russell’s spirit had not fully recovered, and it was getting late, so he would definitely not be able to move again today.

After finalizing the arrangements for the next day, Dr. Natsuki returned to the marching tent, leaving Russell alone in the lounge of the armored vehicle so that he could have a good rest to ensure that the second exploration could proceed smoothly.
