the plan to go to hainan was thus made.

tang rui began preparing the next day, packing everything he needed directly into boxes.

he also specifically went to find lin chao.

after all, when doing long-distance traveling, it was good to report it.

even though they weren’t going abroad, traveling by yacht on the sea was not entirely safe.

so when reporting, he also had lin chao contact the military to see if they could help arrange a skipper for the yacht.

he couldn’t pilot a yacht, and red lotus couldn’t control an unmodified one either.

thus, seeking assistance from the military sounded like the more prudent choice.

“how do you plan to get there? are you going by rv or fighter jet? when you arrive in hainan, are you renting a villa or staying directly on the yacht?”

after hearing the news, lin chao immediately inquired, asking in great detail.

“if we’re going… i and li shuyao, the two of us, will take a fighter jet there. as for accommodation… we won’t rent a villa, we’ll stay on the yacht. after all, this time, our main purpose is to enjoy the sea,” tang rui thought for a moment and replied.

“all right, i’ll contact the higher-ups.”

after hearing this, lin chao turned and went to his own secure office to make a phone call.

tang rui didn’t know what lin chao was up to.

he was just going on vacation to hainan, not diving in the pacific ocean. it seemed a bit too tense.

our aircraft carrier is parked over there for training, after all.

ten minutes later, lin chao came out of the secure room.

“everything’s arranged. your yacht will be handed over to someone today. as for flying a fighter jet, you can park it at the island’s airport or on the aircraft carrier.”

“wait… aircraft carrier? i can go to an aircraft carrier directly?” tang rui’s eyes started to light up.

although he loved fighter jets and the sky, it didn’t mean he rejected the sea.

an aircraft carrier, seriously?

who wouldn’t want to visit an aircraft carrier?

“of course, when you go out to sea, the aircraft carrier will be training in the nearby waters.”

“aircraft carrier escort?” tang rui felt like this was a bit out of the ordinary.

“you can think of it that way, but in other words, the aircraft carrier just happens to be on your route.”

“okay, i got it.”

when tang rui left the office, his head was still spinning.

no one would believe this story no matter who told it.

that evening, li shuyao returned home and started packing.

she had taken 15 days of annual leave.

this time, she could really enjoy herself.

originally, tang rui had already packed everything.

however, when li shuyao returned, she started packing things again, including many items that he thought were unnecessary.

“don’t use suitcases; i’ll get a special box.”

“???” li shuyao had a puzzled expression.

if not suitcases, what would they use to pack their things?

in less than five minutes, tang rui returned with a long box.

“pack using this box, and don’t leave any empty space.”

“what kind of box is this, and why are there two hooks on it?”

“this is a box that attaches to the fighter jet’s bomb bay.”

“…” li shuyao had nothing to say.

after li shuyao had packed everything, a robot carried the box downstairs.

red lotus controlled the fighter jet to open the internal bomb bay and hung the box on the missile pylon.

the fighter jet’s internal bomb bay was now full.

three large boxes and five robots.

these five robots were newly manufactured by red lotus and were suitable for use in the sea. they included rescue robots, maintenance robots, and household robots.

the box was attached.

the internal bomb bay was closed.

the next day, the two of them woke up naturally, put on their nano anti-g clothes, and donned their combat suits before heading to the fighter jet.

“are you sure it’s okay?” li shuyao looked at the fighter jet and was still a bit worried.

after all, other than pilots, not many ordinary people had ridden in one.

“don’t worry; my skills are absolutely fine. when 1 went to harbin institute of technology for a conference, 1 flew a fighter jet there. it’s much safer than a commercial flight,” tang rui said with a smile.

“all right, but don’t fly too fast later.”

“no problem.”

the two of them boarded the fighter jet.

click!

the cockpit canopy closed, and the heads-up display in their helmets activated.

tang rui had set up a panoramic mode for li shuyao, so she could only see the scenery and not the fighter jet’s data.

it wasn’t because he was worried about her leaking secrets, but because he didn’t want her to get bored.

she wouldn’t understand all that data.

“fish pond to tower. requesting takeoff.”

“tower to fish pond, you are cleared for takeoff.”

upon receiving tower’s message, tang rui waved to the people in the distance and then pushed the throttle, initiating the vertical takeoff.

due to li shuyao’s presence, he didn’t taxi for takeoff but opted for a vertical ascent.

“so high.”

li shuyao had an unobstructed view and felt like they were getting higher as they saw the ground below.

especially from her perspective, it felt like she was suspended in the air.

it was a rather frightening feeling.

however, li shuyao wasn’t scared; she seemed quite excited.

“sit tight; i’m going full throttle.”

“okay.”

once li shuyao was securely seated, tang rui pushed the throttle to enter supersonic cruise mode.

at the moment they broke the sound barrier, the world fell silent.

li shuyao was experiencing this sensation for the first time, and to say the sensation was quite extraordinary would be an understatement.

“aren’t fighter jets known for their high g-forces that can knock an ordinary person out? why don’t i feel anything?” li shuyao asked.

“don’t worry; the anti-g suit and combat suit you’re wearing are like space suits. that’s why you don’t feel anything.”

tang rui hadn’t performed high-g maneuvers; he had just accelerated, and with li shuyao in her seat and her special suit, she wouldn’t feel much.

“can you go faster?” li shuyao asked.

“faster? sure.”

tang rui pushed the throttle again, accelerating from mach 2 to mach 6.

“that’s fast.”

“it’s decent.”

throughout the journey, li shuyao kept looking around and below.

she didn’t feel like she had had enough yet.

but tang rui started to decelerate because they had reached the south china sea and needed to prepare for landing.

“beep, beep, beep…”

at this point, an alarm sounded inside the cockpit.

“tang rui, what’s going on?”

“no problem; i’ve spotted a large fish.”

“a large fish?”

“yeah, a very large one.”

tang rui’s display showed a large fish detected by the fighter jet’s electro-optical system, which was actually a submarine.

“fish pond, this is fisher.”

“fisher, this is fish pond; go ahead.”

“i’ve found a submarine; not sure if it’s one of ours.”

“submarine? please report your current coordinates.”

“current coordinates are xxx…”

“all right, we’re verifying it now; please wait.”

“i’m hovering above the target.”

tang rui looked at the data, but due to the murky seawater, he couldn’t be sure if it was one of their submarines. the fighter jet lacked a quantum information capture system, making it unable to identify the situation of the submarine clearly.

so he had to wait for a response.

however, he believed there was a good chance that it wasn’t one of their own submarines..
