Becoming Their Guiding Spirit

# Chapter 36: So... There Really Are Ghosts! Four hours later.

The Blacksteel Worldwide private jet landed successfully.

Amidst the whistling of the engines and under the light of the setting sun, Franka and her team walked out of the cabin.

”Oof~~ We’re finally back~~”

Under the twilight of the setting sun, Franka stretched comfortably, her exquisite figure making her already tight top bulge.

”Jessica, how about we go to your place for dinner tonight?”

Franka wore a slightly mischievous smile.

However, this expression didn’t seem to be directed at Jessica.

”Σ( ° △ °|||)︴!!”

Jessica, of course, knew Franka’s objective. She wanted to refuse but didn’t know how to say it.

”How about it? Jessica-chan~”

Franka mimicked the way Exusiai and Sora had addressed Jessica in Lungmen. Coming from her, it sounded strangely charming, but Jessica, being a girl, wasn’t swayed by it.

”Mr. Reeve! What do I do!”

Jessica frantically asked in her mind.

However, Lucas Reeve only gave three words in response.

”Up to you.”

”Mmm~~”

Jessica was suddenly caught in a dilemma. In the past, with her personality, she might have already agreed without knowing what to do. But now, she was hesitating. Although she wanted to agree, and the words were already on the tip of her tongue, ready to come out.

But another obsession in her heart overcame her innate timidity.

”Jessica-chan, you wouldn’t be unwelcoming to your seniors, would you?”

Franka smiled faintly.

Finally, after a two-minute stalemate, Jessica was defeated. She nodded. On one side was the senior she trusted most, on the other was her spiritual support. This was a difficult choice for Jessica. She was afraid of what would happen if Senior Franka and Mr. Reeve had a disagreement.

”Great~ Let’s go to the supermarket and buy ingredients right now!”

Seeing Jessica agree.

Franka clapped her hands happily. She then took Liskarm’s hand with one hand and Jessica’s with the other and walked towards the large shopping mall near the company.

As a Columbian.

Franka had never eaten a magical dish like hot pot before. After trying it once in Lungmen, she was quite amazed.

It seemed very ordinary, just cooking raw ingredients in a large pot, but with the exquisite base and dipping sauces, the flavor was truly addictive. Having just returned to Columbia, Franka was already craving another meal. As expected of the Yanese, they were truly amazing when it came to food.

After raiding the supermarket.

The three took a taxi to Jessica’s mansion.

Although she had been here once before, coming again this time was still incredibly stunning. Franka had calculated it herself; at her current normal income level, she would have to work without eating or drinking for over a hundred, nearly two hundred years to afford this one building.

Add water, add the hot pot base.

Under the sizzling heat of the flame, the solid hot pot base melted into the water, bubbling and boiling. A numbingly spicy aroma immediately filled the vast, luxurious dining room. This smell instantly dropped the class of this high-end mansion’s dining room by who knows how many levels.

Franka, somewhat clumsily, used chopsticks to pick up a slice of beef and swish it in the pot.

However.

Jessica, across from her, was eating distractedly.

Like a child who had done something wrong, waiting to be questioned by their parents.

”Ahem~”

After eating for a while, Franka looked at the nervous Jessica across from her.

”Who are you, really?”

Liskarm, beside her, looked at Franka in confusion.

She hadn’t guessed Jessica’s situation and had been wondering why the Fat Fox’s gaze towards Jessica had been a bit... unusual ever since the mission in the Wastes.

What was going on?

”Oh~ Not talking? If you continue to play dead, I might have to consider whether you pose a threat to Jessica. After all, Jessica’s identity is not ordinary, and we can’t allow any mistakes.”

Although Franka didn’t know Jessica’s true identity, anyone who could casually live in a multi-million dollar mansion couldn’t possibly be an ordinary person. As for why she came to Blacksteel Worldwide, it was probably just a rich young lady out for some experience. There were many similar themes in Yanese novels.

”Senior Franka!”

Jessica was getting anxious. She wanted to argue, but she knew she was not good at lying. A single sentence would reveal the truth.

Suddenly.

Jessica’s originally flustered expression changed as if flipping a page, becoming calm. Her light green eyes also turned into deep, dark irises.

”Lucas Reeve...”

Franka was overjoyed. She had finally managed to squeeze this guy out.

In reality, how could she possibly report him? He had saved her life, after all. She was just saying that to scare him a bit. On the other hand, she was genuinely worried about Jessica’s safety. It was like a mother meeting the boyfriend her daughter brought home. No matter how much she trusted her, she had to meet him once to be at ease.

”Lucas Reeve....”

Franka silently repeated Lucas Reeve’s name.

Liskarm, beside her, was completely baffled.

”Who’s Lucas Reeve?”

The world where only Liskarm doesn’t know is complete.

”Are you a soul, or can you only exist by attaching to Jessica?”

”A mere remnant soul.”

Lucas Reeve returned control of the body to Jessica, and then emerged from the necklace himself.

To Franka and Liskarm’s shock.

A handsome boy, translucent and with his lower body ethereal like smoke, suddenly emerged. He had black hair and black eyes. Even as a soul, his demeanor was incredibly calm, exactly the same as the aura Jessica had exuded earlier.

Franka was okay. She had read many novels and could barely accept it.

But Liskarm, as a proper model student, began to doubt if she had read all her books in vain.

In this world!!

There really are ghosts!!
