Becoming Their Guiding Spirit

# Chapter 32: APPLE PIE!! ”Cover me! Exusiai!!”

Texas constantly dodged the hail of bullets. However, with so many enemy barrels, breaking through and charging into the crowd was very difficult. Even someone as strong as Texas didn’t have the ability to charge into a tide of people amidst a sea of bullets. She could only keep dodging, using her light sword to slash away incoming rounds.

”No problem!!”

Exusiai was now grinning with excitement. It had been a long time since she had experienced such a thrilling battle. How she missed it!!

She held two long pistols in her hands, pointed in different directions.

”APPLE PIE!!”

[Overloading Mode!]

In an instant.

The Laterano halo above Exusiai’s head became increasingly brilliant, bright enough to rival the sun in the sky. The pair of translucent, cicada-like angel wings on her back instantly transformed into enormous wings of light. Even her eyes shimmered with a dazzling radiance.

At this moment, Exusiai.

Had truly transformed from a cheerful optimist into a Laterano...

Gunfire Angel!!

In this state, the firing speed of Exusiai’s Guardian Gun reached its absolute limit, and every shot was incredibly precise. Exusiai could calculate the trajectory of every bullet, even using her own bullets to precisely deflect the path of enemy shots.

Of course.

This kind of ridiculously extreme calculation.

Exusiai couldn’t maintain it for long. She had only been at it for a short while, but her head was already starting to smoke, like a CPU running at high speed and about to burn out.

”Damn it!!”

The hidden commander was so agitated he was about to curse.

Never in his life had he imagined.

That over a hundred armed men... would be evenly matched in firepower with one person!! Just one person!!

Even if the opponent was an angel...

A race naturally gifted with firearms.

This was still way too absurd...

It made them all look like idiots.

”Use the mortars!!! Use the mortars to blow these bastards to bits!!”

The gang’s subleader commanded from the rear.

His underlings behind him clumsily brought over several mortar frames.

”They even have those things....”

Franka couldn’t help but complain. However, under the cover of Exusiai’s Overloading Mode, she and Texas had already charged into the enemy crowd. In an instant, it was like tigers entering a flock of lambs, a complete slaughter.

But Exusiai’s CPU had finally overloaded severely. She couldn’t hold on any longer.

”Aiya~ Exusiai can’t go on~ My head’s spinning~”

Exusiai collapsed to the ground with a thud, her eyes swirling.

Without Exusiai’s suppressing fire, the enemy’s firepower intensified again. Although Franka and Texas had already plunged into the crowd, there were still a lot of gang members, over two hundred of them....

The rain of bullets poured down once more, and amidst the bullets were Originium bombs and even grenades.

”Hoo~”

A breath of thunder escaped from Lucas Reeve’s mouth. His injured legs, while not a major issue, still affected his movement. He decided to just stay put and protect Sora.

Faced with a pile of grenades and Originium bombs.

Lucas Reeve acted decisively.

[Thunder Breathing, Sixth Form: Rumble and Flash]

This time, Lucas Reeve didn’t even draw his sword. With his hand just resting on the hilt, he unleashed countless lightning-fast slashes made of thunder from his body as the center. These slashes continuously cut through the incoming bombs and bullets.

The bombs detonated with a roar before they could even reach Liskarm and Croissant’s shields.

For a time.

A perfectly safe zone several meters wide materialized around Lucas Reeve. Any attack that entered this area would be shredded by the dense web of thunderous slashes, losing all its power before it could land.

”This!!! This!!!”

The commander hiding in the ’fountain’ was completely speechless now. He stared trembling at the screen in his hand, unable to believe that these were human beings...

”Heh... that guy... is as strong as I thought...”

Franka glanced at Lucas Reeve in the center of the lightning, the corners of her mouth turning up slightly. With Lucas Reeve easing the pressure on her, the burden instantly lessened.

”In that case, I should also go all out...”

Originium energy surged within her body.

The rapier in Franka’s right hand glowed like a red-hot iron. Even from a distance, one could feel an unparalleled searing heat.

[Thermite Blade]

Franka’s signature move.

A perfect combination of Originium Arts and a specially made weapon.

In an instant, the rapier in her hand would heat up to 2,500 degrees Celsius. This extremely high temperature, combined with slashes that could already easily cut through steel, truly achieved the effect of slicing through metal like mud. At least, Franka had never seen any object that could withstand the slash of her Thermite Blade.

And under the Thermite Blade.

These enemies were as if they wore no armor, cut down like reaping chives. She harvested lives like the Grim Reaper descending. Texas, on the other hand, was also moving quickly. Her Sword Rain, combined with excellent close-quarters sword skills, made reaping the lives of these uneducated thugs easier than squashing an ant.
