Becoming Their Guiding Spirit

# Chapter 18: Just You? Sora never thought her short life would end so suddenly. There were still so many things she hadn’t done....

However,

just as Sora despaired, a dazzling bolt of lightning flashed before her.

She couldn’t see anything clearly, couldn’t even react.

She only felt her body become light, as if she had been swept up by something.

Finally,

when Sora came to her senses,

what met her eyes was an incredibly cute, yet inexplicably handsome side profile.

”Miss Jessica~

Sora was shocked that it was Jessica who had saved her. And... she was clearly shorter than her, yet she was holding her in a princess carry. It felt so safe...

”Are you okay, Sora...”

Lucas Reeve lowered his head, looking at the little idol in his arms.

His deep, dark pupils met Sora’s eyes.

”Sorry! Wrong person!!”

As their eyes met, Sora blurted it out subconsciously. However, after she said it, she realized, isn’t this Miss Jessica?

How...

She was completely different from the Jessica before. It was like she had become a different person. Although her appearance was still Miss Jessica’s, beneath that cute exterior was a cold, calm aura, like a tranquil, half-frozen pond in winter.

Sora’s face flushed, and she was at a loss.

Lucas Reeve put Sora down.

Using Jessica’s small frame, he stood in front of Sora.

”Hide behind me. Be careful.”

”Mmm~

Even though... her body was so small, but... Sora felt that she was inexplicably tall and imposing.

It seemed like a long time had passed.

In reality, from striking to sheathing his sword, it only took Lucas Reeve the span of a single breath.

Franka was the first to react. The moment Lucas Reeve made his move, she too had shot out like a stream of light. As Lucas Reeve severed the enemy’s hands with lightning speed, she had already pierced the man’s thigh with her rapier in a clean thrust. Then, the hilt of her rapier slammed hard into the back of his head. The enemy passed out before he even knew his hands were gone.

”Ahhhh!!”

Only after the enemy was subdued

did the fans on stage and the staff backstage react. The few fans on stage started screaming and ran for their lives off the stage. As for who Sora was? They didn’t know her. Running was what mattered.

The turn of events was too sudden.

The fans below the stage instantly descended into chaos. The vast majority of onlookers simply took out their phones and started filming, ignoring the rules against unauthorized recording during the concert.

After a while,

the L.G.D. officers on duty outside finally rushed in.

They immediately secured the scene.

After calling for backup, a few of them rushed onto the stage. Seeing the criminal with both arms severed and legs pierced, lying miserably unconscious on the ground, they couldn’t help but feel their scalps tingle. How ruthless... tsk tsk.

The concert’s general director, Sora’s agent, also came on stage and announced that the concert was being canceled due to an accident, and that fans could get refunds through the website. It was clear that Agent Zhang’s expression was very, very grim.

A concert was supposed to be profitable.

But with such a bizarre incident, not only would they not make a single cent, but they might also have to return the sponsorship fees. The substantial initial costs were likely a total loss. Not only did they lose money, but after such an incident, Sora’s reputation would also be affected. Competing companies might even use this to slander her..

The only silver lining was,

thankfully, they had hired mercenaries as bodyguards in time. Otherwise, the consequences would have been unimaginable.

——Five minutes later——

The L.G.D. reinforcements arrived immediately.

Outside the Lungmen Stadium, the flashing lights and sirens of police cars were incessant.

A travel-worn Superintendent Ch’en of Lungmen rushed over. By this time, the stage had been cordoned off. Because the unconscious criminal still had a bomb on him, no one dared to approach until the bomb disposal experts arrived. Some preliminary statements had been taken.

Sora was still in a state of shock from the ordeal.

She kept clutching the hem of Jessica’s clothes, as if it were the only way she could feel at ease.

”Hello! Let me introduce myself. I am Superintendent Ch’en of Lungmen. May I ask who severed the criminal’s hands?”

After confirming the criminal’s grim condition from her subordinate’s report, Ch’en walked over to Jessica and showed her badge.

”Eh...”

Jessica, back in control of her body, was flustered. This was the first time she had been questioned by the police, and this officer seemed to be of high rank.

”Um.... um... it... it was me...”

Jessica had reverted to her old self. Sora, behind her, was a bit confused.

Because...

just now, that cool aura from Jessica that had made her blush was gone again. She seemed to have gone back to being the cute Miss Jessica from yesterday. Sora was a little disappointed, but she didn’t understand why.

”You?”

Ch’en looked at the shy little cat-like girl who was a full head shorter than her, not even 1.5 meters tall. Disbelief was written all over her pretty face.

She couldn’t even imagine how a little girl who got shy just from speaking could have so easily and cleanly severed a criminal’s hands... It was like cutting tofu. She had just examined the severed arms; the cuts were just too smooth...

”Who are you people?”

Franka stood in front of Jessica, presented her credentials, and said with a smile,

”Blacksteel Worldwide from Columbia, here in Lungmen to carry out a protection mission. This is the report approved by the Lungmen authorities.”
