Becoming Their Guiding Spirit

# Chapter 34: The Big Shots’ Test ”Hiss!! So sneaky... there’s actually a basement!”

Exusiai exclaimed in surprise.

”But...”

Sora asked in a small voice, ”How did the boss know that we needed this help right now?”

”Who knows...”

Texas shrugged.

”Anyway... let’s go in.”

She flicked her wrist, and with a rapid swing of her Originium Blade, the metal door was sliced into countless small pieces, revealing the staircase leading down.

---------------

Elsewhere.

In a luxurious jazz bar in Lungmen.

”Old Lin, I’ve sent the message to my lovely girls.”

A penguin, much larger than a normal one, leaned lazily against the sofa in the main seat.

This person (penguin) was the boss of Penguin Logistics, Emperor.

And the other two people in the private room.

One was an ’Ancient’ who looked like a mouse. His white eyebrows drooped low, and he appeared withered, but in reality, the gaze from his small eyes was incredibly sharp. He wore a crisp suit under a pure white overcoat. This person was the legendary King of the Slums, the ruler of Lungmen’s dark world, Lin!

The other, a luxuriously dressed ’Ancient’ resembling an ’Eastern Dragon’, was leisurely sipping his drink, a constant smile on his face. However, a faint aura of a superior being always emanated from him. Anyone who could sit with the King of the Slums was no ordinary person. This man was the true master of all of Lungmen.

Lungmen’s Chief Executive, Wei Yenwu.

The three famous figures of Lungmen were gathered together, their presence alone enough to make an ordinary person’s legs tremble.

”Thank you. Old Wei, what did you think of the L.G.D.’s test this time?”

Lin glanced at Wei Yenwu across from him and spoke.

”How should I put it... both a pass and a fail...”

A faint, mysterious smile remained on Wei Yenwu’s face.

”To be honest, I’m a little disappointed. I intentionally let you leave this small, foreign-backed force as a test for Hui-chieh and the entire L.G.D., but in the end, it was resolved by mercenaries from Blacksteel Worldwide and Emperor’s girls. Although the final result was correct... it was still somewhat unsatisfactory.”

Lin laughed, ”Hui-chieh is still young. She has a long road ahead of her. You can’t expect a young woman in her twenties to be as shrewd as you.”

”That child, Hui-chieh, is an excellent police officer, but she is not a qualified leader... sigh~”

--------------------

When the group reached the bottom of the basement.

The lavish decorations inside made one doubt whether this was a basement or a massive single-story residence hidden underground.

In the center of the living room.

A middle-aged man with an ordinary face sat motionless on the sofa.

Dejected... despairing...

He probably never imagined that he was just an experience pack for a group of Lungmen’s big shots. And he had foolishly thought that Lungmen was easy to bully now. Or rather, he would never have imagined in his life that the two-hundred-plus men and all the weapons he had painstakingly managed for a year, even clashing with the L.G.D. several times, would be completely wiped out by six young women.

”You’re under arrest!”

Exusiai walked over with a cheerful grin and took a pair of ’silver bracelets’ from her pocket.

For some reason.

Exusiai had recently become fascinated with silver bracelets. She always felt that putting them on others looked cool... As for why she didn’t just become a police officer...

The L.G.D. simply wouldn’t accept her.

This L.G.D. commission was completed much faster than expected.

This ’Mister,’ who colluded with foreign powers and had even organized the bombing incident in Lungmen’s upper districts, had committed enough crimes to warrant a death sentence. After interrogation, Lucas Reeve and the others finally learned why things had gone wrong at the beginning.

It wasn’t that Penguin Logistics’ intelligence was faulty.

That dilapidated two-story house was indeed where he lived.

Rather, there was a spy within the L.G.D. This spy had placed a listening device in Officer Ch’en’s office, which naturally allowed them to know every decision, including the hiring of mercenaries. They then set up a scheme to try and kill these fearless mercenaries, but the mercenaries were simply too strong, so strong that it was completely beyond their comprehension.

Of course.

The traitorous high-ranking official was naturally arrested by an enraged Officer Ch’en and thrown into prison. This incident even led to a massive purge throughout the entire Lungmen Guard Department.

The commission was successfully completed.

The final payment for the commission was transferred to the company’s account, and the shares would be transferred from the company account to the team members’ bank cards at the end of the month.

Of course.

Because the mission was completed so perfectly and efficiently.

The super-rich Swire was so pleased that she waved her hand.

Each person received an additional bonus of 500,000 Lungmen Dollars in a big red envelope. Of course, this money was ultimately reimbursed by the L.G.D.

”Jessica-chan, do your legs still hurt?”

At this moment, Jessica was sitting on the sofa in Sora’s house, enjoying her idol personally applying medicine for her, while trembling with nervousness.

She might not be nervous talking to Lucas Reeve now, but with others, she was still in her old state.

”Um... Sora-chan, I can do it myself....”

Jessica said in a small voice.

”No way!”

Sora refused resolutely.

”Jessica-chan was protecting me the whole time. I have to help you in some way.”

Jessica’s legs weren’t seriously injured. They had been sent to the hospital immediately after the commission ended. An X-ray showed a minor fracture, not severe. It didn’t even require surgery; she just needed to avoid moving it and apply ointment to let it heal on its own.
