Becoming Their Guiding Spirit

Is this what it means to be rich? Danger!

A large red ’Danger!’ sign flashed in Jessica’s mind.

If this were yesterday, Jessica would have certainly reacted as if she’d found her saviors.

But things were different now.

She already knew it was Lucas Reeve, so she didn’t need Franka’s help anymore.

Besides.

Having finally passed the assessment, Jessica had a lot of secrets she wanted to share with Lucas in private. If her two seniors came over, wouldn’t it be very inconvenient?

”What’s wrong? Is it a problem? I thought you really wanted us to come over yesterday, Jessica?”

”No... it’s just that my place is a bit messy, I haven’t cleaned up, so... I’m a little embarrassed to have you two over.”

Jessica nervously scrambled for an excuse.

But Jessica was a terrible liar. How could Franka not see through it?

She could tell at a glance that Jessica was lying.

Her suspicion and doubt grew stronger. No matter what, she and Liskarm had to go to Jessica’s place tonight to get to the bottom of this.

”It’s fine, I’ll help you clean up.”

Suddenly, Franka grinned mischievously and joked.

”Jessica, you’re not hiding a boyfriend at home, are you? Hahahaha~”

Franka was just teasing.

However, her words instantly made Jessica’s face turn beet red. She waved her hands frantically, stammering.

”H-how... how could that be!! How could I have a....”

Her flustered reaction left Franka, who had been joking, completely stunned.

Franka and Liskarm exchanged a look.

Damn!!

Could it be true?!!

It was completely unexpected.

Could Jessica actually have a boyfriend?!

No, she absolutely had to go check. Jessica was a hopelessly naive child; she couldn’t let her be tricked by some scumbag. She had to vet this guy.

But... Franka also thought of something that didn’t add up...

Something’s not right~

If she has a boyfriend, why did she say yesterday that she felt like she was being watched at home? Shouldn’t she have gone straight to her boyfriend about that?

The more Franka thought about it, the more curious she became.

She had to go to Jessica’s place today to investigate, and while she was at it, see the legendary hundred-square-meter bedroom.

Seeing that she couldn’t refuse, Jessica had no choice but to reluctantly agree.

”If I keep refusing, Franka will definitely get suspicious...”

Lucas Reeve: ”No... actually, your poor acting skills have already made Miss Fox suspicious.”

”Wuuu~ I can’t help it, I’m bad at lying~~”

Seeing Jessica agree.

Franka quickly pulled Liskarm to pay the bill, then looped her arm through Jessica’s and headed for the door.

”Let’s go! Where do you live? We can take a cab.”

”Polia Manor.”

”???”

Half an hour later.

Franka and Liskarm stood before one of Columbia’s most expensive residential areas, speechless for a long time.

In the capital mobile city of Columbia, where every inch of land was precious, the average housing price was about 70,000 Lungmen Dollars per square meter. A simple hundred-square-meter apartment would cost around ten million Lungmen Dollars. Although Franka was an elite operator at Blacksteel International, her salary wasn’t particularly high in the Columbian capital; she was just a working-class professional who could barely afford a small apartment of a few dozen square meters for herself.

As for a luxury residential area with six-figure prices, she couldn’t even dream of it.

And this Polia Manor was a neighborhood for the richest of the rich, with an average price of 600,000 per square meter. Only the truly super-wealthy could afford it.

They both looked at Jessica, who was dressed relatively plainly.

She didn’t match this incredibly luxurious neighborhood at all.

*Hiss!!*

So.

Their junior had been a top-tier rich girl all along, and they had never even noticed!!

And as they walked inside.

The house Jessica lived in nearly made Franka’s spirit break.

A villa?!!

A real villa, the kind that was several hundred square meters!

Living in a villa in an area that costs six hundred thousand per square meter?!

This house had to be worth at least a few hundred million Lungmen Dollars. She could work her entire life at Blacksteel and never afford it, unless she got into the black market industries...

”Please, come in.”

Jessica pushed the door open.

A wave of quaint and luxurious style washed over them.

Blown away by this wind of wealth, Franka and Liskarm were petrified.

Is this the power of money?

They were numb.

They were all human, so why was the gap between them so huge?

At this moment, Lucas Reeve also nodded in satisfaction.

He was very pleased with their expressions. After all, when he found out yesterday that Jessica was a mega-rich heiress, he had been rendered speechless too.

However.

The two were, after all, mercenaries who had seen the world. It wasn’t as if they hadn’t seen mansions before.

The reason for their shock was purely discovering that Jessica, their seemingly ordinary junior, was a top-tier rich girl. The contrast was completely different from the arrogant second-generation rich kids they had met.

And...

Why would a top-tier heiress want to be a mercenary?

It was exhausting, grueling work.

And the probability of death was quite high.

They didn’t get it.

Perhaps this was just the lifestyle of the second-generation rich?

Stepping into Jessica’s villa.

Franka looked around, hoping to find a particular presence within the massive home.
