Reborn in the Eighties as a Housewife with a Space

Chapter 999: Chapter 993 Jing Yuan Comes Again_1

Qin Yu didn’t know why, but seeing Jing Xin like this, he thought he would lend a helping hand. After all, they were friends, and his sister, Fang Xiu, was a nice person. He didn’t want her to miss out on a marriage opportunity.

“My heart?” Jing Xin stammered, he knew quite clearly that he loved Fang Xiu. He wanted her and their son back with him, but he had no idea where they were now or how to find them. If he could go back in time, he certainly wouldn’t have let Jing Yuan into his kitchen that day, let alone drink the water she had poured. He was fairly certain that, if given the chance, he would have slapped Jing Yuan out of his house.

He still didn’t understand why Jing Yuan did what she did. She claimed she loved him, but her actions destroyed his marriage. Who had instructed her to do that?

After saying farewell to Qin Yu, Jing Xin was getting ready to return to his regiment. He had come to town hoping for some good luck, but with his wife and son missing, he had no desire to stay.

However, he had not gotten far when he heard a voice that he hoped he would never have to hear again.

“Big Brother.” Jing Yuan had been coming here daily and waiting for him, only to be disappointed every time. She had received word that Jing Xin was back in town, and she hoped to run into him – a hope that was unexpectedly realized.

“What are you doing here? Haven’t I made it clear that I no longer have any relationship with you or the Jings?” Without turning around, Jing Xin gave his curt reply and walked away.

“Big Brother, don’t be like that. I know I was wrong. Really, can’t you stop being angry?” Seeing Jing Xin’s demeanor, Jing Yuan made a brash move. She ran up and hugged him from behind. She had long accepted that they could never go back to the way things were, but the more he tried to avoid her, the more she clung onto him. Why didn’t this man she had loved for so many years love her back?

Those days had been filled with agonizing pain for Jing Yuan, but also a strange sense of satisfaction. Knowing that she could not have him, she also ensured that Fang Xiu couldn’t either. She remembered seeing the divorce agreement in Jing Xin’s hand a few months ago, undoubtedly handed over by Fang Xiu.

Now that they were divorced, didn’t it mean she still had a chance? Even if Jing Xin couldn’t marry her, it didn’t matter. As long as she could be with him, that was enough. She didn’t want anything else.

“Let go.” Jing Xin’s voice was cold enough to make anyone shudder, but it couldn’t scare off Jing Yuan. She was convinced that he was just saying it to intimidate her, and that he still cared for her. He would never hurt his own sister.

“No.” Jing Yuan knew Jing Xin’s character, and that was why she felt as though she had nothing to lose.

“Did you not hear me when I said let go?” Jing Xin’s veins were popping out as he tried to suppress his rage. He was afraid he might lose control and seriously harm her.

“Big Brother, now that you’re divorced from Fang Xiu, I’m not asking you to marry me. But can you let me stay by your side?” Jing Yuan clung even tighter to Jing Xin, her face pressed against his back.

“Big Brother, you…” Jing Yuan stared at Jing Xin incredulously. So it was Jing Xin who had pushed her away.

“Didn’t you take my words seriously before, Jing Yuan? Do you think I was joking? Do you even have a heart? You say you love me, but that justifies destroying my marriage? What you’re doing isn’t love. It’s plundering, it’s intrusion. You’re only thinking about yourself without considering how I feel. That’s not love, it’s selfishness.

Jing Yuan, have you ever seen siblings being together? Are you aware that what you’re doing is hurting me?” Jing Xin could hardly believe how much his “little sister” had changed. She used to be so lovable, a sight others couldn’t help but want to cherish and protect. Now, he couldn’t even stand to look at her even once.
