Reborn in the Eighties as a Housewife with a Space

Chapter 961: Chapter 955: Qin Yun is Here_1

Qin Yun came to visit Qin Yu in the evening, wishing to know whether Qin Yu would be going home for the Chinese New Year, so they could travel together.

“Xiao Yu, what are you busy with?” Qin Yun entered the shop to find Qin Yu hard at work, prompting him to call out.

“Cloud, what brings you here?” Hearing the beckon, Qin Yu looked up to find Qin Yun standing before him.

“I came to find out when you’ll be going home for the New Year. We could go back together, that way we’d have each other for company,” Qin Yun explained with a smile. His usually rugged face now lit up with an irrepressible grin. He and his sister had earned a decent amount over the past six months. Letters from home told of their uncle joining in their little business venture, which suggested better times ahead for the family. He could now look forward to settling the wedding details with his sister. The mere thought filled him with joy.

“Well, I won’t be heading back until the 26th. What about you, when are you getting off work?” asked Qin Yu.

“We also finish up on the 26th. We’ll have to work until that evening. We’re swamped with orders recently, so we’re consistently working overtime. That’s why we can’t leave any earlier. This actually works perfectly – we can go back together,” Qin Yun replied. Both had the same departure day – nothing could be more convenient.

“Sounds like a plan to me,” Qin Yu readily agreed. He had initially planned to keep his shop running until the evening of the 25th, and then head out the following morning. But now, hearing what Qin Yun said, he decided to keep his shop open for one more day.

“How could your boss let you run the shop all by yourself? Are they not troubled by this?” Qin Yun found Qin Yu busying about and decided to lend a hand.

“Well, if I want to earn money and continue my studies, I have to work hard. The owner entrusted me because they trust me. I can’t let them down,” Qin Yu explained, not mentioning that the shop was actually his. His sister had advised him not to reveal this due to its conspicuous nature. Besides, Qin Qiu seemed to be harboring ill feelings recently against their upbringing. Qin Yu decided to refrain from sharing the truth until things settled down. He explained the shop owner was away on other business and would eventually sell the shop to them.

Qin Yu deemed this idea appropriate, having observed Qin Qiu’s change of heart since their broken engagement. The active envy from her displayed a different person compared to the Qin Qiu he knew. Until her jealousy subsides, keeping secrets from her was the best option. Discussing it with his sister, they both agreed this was more of a beneficial lie than a deceit.

“That makes sense. Your academic abilities are impressive and it would certainly be a waste if you ceased to study. Things are much better now since you can continue your studies,” Qin Yun accepted, as it really was an inevitable situation. Their family was not well-off. Their uncle and aunt’s efforts to provide for them were truly admirable. At least Qin Yun and his sister didn’t even have the chance to continue their studies at all.

“Cloud, you could also consider attending night school. By improving your education, couldn’t you work less physically demanding, yet higher-paid technical jobs in the future?” Qin Yu suggested. Whether or not Qin Yun took his suggestion wasn’t his concern. After all, he was fully responsible for his own work and studies. He was thinking more in terms of future prospects. If Qin Yun didn’t share this ambition, he might think that Qin Yu was being meddlesome.

“Xiao Yu, can I really go to night school?” Qin Yun’s eyes lit up at the suggestion. Despite the hard work, Qin Yu seemed to enjoy a sense of fulfillment from both his work and studies. Qin Yun envied his peers who were doing the same job but earning more money. He found Qin Yu’s proposition reasonable.

He had always believed that attending night school would be too challenging, therefore, he had never dared to dream of it. But after hearing what Qin Yu said, he was eager to take a chance. No matter what, he wanted to give it a try. If his brother could do it, so could he.
