Reborn in the Eighties as a Housewife with a Space

Chapter 975: Chapter 969: Inside Story_1

“We aren’t quite sure, he didn’t mention anything about it. The last time he wrote to us, he didn’t say when he was coming home for the New Year. If he’s returning, it will probably be one of these days, otherwise, it would be too late. He might want to come back with Xiao Yun and her siblings,” Nangong Shulan said. Her son hadn’t mentioned coming home for the New Year in his last letter.

“That’s possible. We heard that the factory isn’t giving holidays until the 26th, so if they’re waiting to come back together, they will probably catch the train on the evening of the 26th.” Qin Xue had asked Guo Aiguo, he said the factory was particularly busy recently, thus they would be granting leave a bit later. Therefore, if Qin Yu is waiting for his sister Qin Qiu, he will certainly be back by then. So, she will just have to wait.

“That’s good, I feel more at ease with them traveling together,” Lin Cuiping chimed in after hearing this. She wasn’t entirely comfortable with the two children traveling by themselves. But if Qin Yu could accompany them, they would have company, which eased her worries quite a bit.

Over the past six months, the two children at home had also sent money back. They knew that their current jobs were thanks to Qin Xue. Therefore, their family was quite grateful to their uncle’s family.

“Yes, indeed. They’re all in the same place so it’s natural to travel together.” Considering her son’s personality, Nangong Shulan knew he wouldn’t choose to travel alone. So upon hearing their thoughts, she agreed.

“Mom, how is the business you and dad started going?” Qin Xue recalled that her mother mentioned they wanted to start a business when they returned home. She hadn’t asked about it yet, but now it seemed like an appropriate time to inquire about their business.

“The business is doing quite well. There are a lot of regular customers and many new ones. But most of them are people catching a train; they’ll leave after eating and new customers will come in.” Nangong Shulan had no regrets about taking over the shop. They even employed a few rogues and paid them wages. Now, these guys were doing well and even got engaged with local girls. Regardless of anything else, they were pleased to see them back on the right track.

“That’s a given. By the way, where’s your business?” Qin Xue knew that her mother was running a business, but she didn’t know where exactly.

“It’s near the train station. We took over a shop there.” Nangong Shulan realized that she hadn’t told her elder daughter the location. They had been so busy that they forgot.

“Not bad. You two are quite lucky. Do you know how difficult it is to get a prime location? Even if it’s a bit more expensive, it’s fine. With a good location, business is good and one can recoup the costs quickly.” Qin Xue hadn’t expected her parents to be this lucky, to get such a deal.

“We are fortunate to have received help, otherwise it wouldn’t have been so smooth.” Nangong Shulan later learned, from one of those rouges, that they no longer experienced trouble at their shop due to someone’s assistance. However, she didn’t know who was helping them. The rogue mentioned that it was her son, but she knew very well that her son wasn’t a soldier. Initially, she thought it was Chu Molin.

But Chu Molin wasn’t here, and if it really was him, he wouldn’t have just not visited them. Hence, no matter how much she pondered, she couldn’t figure out who was helping them. Still, she understood from the rogue’s words that they were fearful of the person who was helping them. So, Nangong Shulan didn’t dispute their claims that they didn’t know who it was.

“What do you mean?” Qin Xue was surprised to hear that there was a backstory and thus, inquired about it.

“Well, when we took over the shop…” Nangong Shulan started to recount the events when they took over the shop with her family. (My friends, it’s a burst update! Keep going! Muah!)
