Reborn in the Eighties as a Housewife with a Space

Chapter 973: Chapter 967: Proposing a Toast_1

“Qin Xue, how are you guys adjusting to life in the Imperial Capital?” Mrs. Qin asked Qin Xue.

“Grandma, we are doing quite well there. I just look after the kids, and Chu Molin goes to classes.” Qin Xue replied. She does more than just taking care of the children now, but she didn’t need to spell everything out for her family. As long as they knew she was okay, that would be enough.

“That’s good. Young kids need good care. I must say, those two little boys are handsome. I haven’t seen such bright and lovely children before.” Earlier, Mrs. Qin had seen the children sleeping in Nangong Shulan’s arms and was struck by their beauty.

“Well, that’s because their dad and I are good-looking,” Qin Xue replied, preening a bit.

“Oh, here we go, she’s praising herself again.” Nangong Shulan was puzzled. Why does someone love praising themselves? Even though it was a fact, couldn’t they learn to be humble?

“Mom, it’s because you are good-looking. Haven’t you realized that I resemble you a lot? Dad, don’t you agree?” Qin Xue looked at her mother and pulled her father onto her side. They did indeed look very similar, so much so that, except for the age difference, people might mistake them for sisters.

“Yes, you look alike, and both of you are very beautiful.” Qin Lei naturally agreed. However, he felt somewhat embarrassed afterwards. He had just indirectly praised his wife’s beauty. It would be fine if they were alone, but they were in front of his parents and relatives right now.

“Pfft, Mom, did you hear? Dad said you are beautiful.” Qin Xue fearlessly teased her parents.

“You brat, how impolite! Your parents are not the people to tease!” Nangong Shulan blushed, surprised by her husband’s comment.

“A good laugh can subtract ten years from your age, right, Grandpa Grandma?” Qin Xue looked at her family. This was the kind of family she wanted. How nice it was to have a harmonious family! It’s a pity her brother Qin Yu and siblings Qin Yun hadn’t returned yet, or else the family reunion would be complete.

“Qin Xue is right. We should laugh more in life. Whether it’s a good day or a bad day, why not spend it with a smile? Let’s heed Qin Xue’s words and have a good laugh.” Mr. Qin added, charmed by his granddaughter’s words, which touched his heart.

“Grandpa, you took the words right out of my mouth. How about tasting this wine? Chu Molin specially brought it back for you.” Qin Xue passed the jar of ginseng wine to her grandpa, and peach blossom wine to her uncle and father.

“What a thoughtful boy, keep up the good work, Molin.” Mr. Qin didn’t expect his grandson-in-law to bring him a special wine.

“I understand, grandpa. Let’s have a toast.” Chu Molin looked at his wife who had passed the credit onto him, raised his glass to toast the grandpa.

“Good, good, have a seat and enjoy the drink. We aren’t too strict about manners here.” Grandpa looked at Chu Molin’s action and chuckled.

“Alright, Dad, Uncle, I’ll toast to you now.” After the grandpa, it was Chu Molin’s turn to toast Qin Lei.

“Good.” On seeing Chu Molin toast him, Qin Chaoyang thought of his daughter. In the past, none of her boyfriends had ever toasted him. It seemed he should find a son-in-law like his niece’s husband. Wasn’t his niece living a good life now?

He certainly wouldn’t casually promise his daughter to someone in the future. He needed to be more discerning, or else his daughter might really resent them as parents.

Qin Lei raised his glass and clinked it with his son-in-law. He enjoyed the toast. What could be more gratifying than seeing your daughter and son-in-law leading a good life? A good husband for his daughter is the best comfort for parents. He must drink this toast, and not just one, but several more.
