Reborn in the Eighties as a Housewife with a Space

Chapter 970: Chapter 964: A Colorful Boudoir_1

“So childish, how could anyone like this style.” Qin Xue looked at the floral and colorful curtains, duvet, and bedsheet in the room. Why did everything have to be covered in various colored flowers? Weren’t there any plain designs? Looking at all these colors was making her dizzy.

“Chu Molin, are you sure this used to be my room?” Qin Xue asked Chu Molin with a hopeful look, praying it wouldn’t be the case. Their difference in taste was too drastic, it could raise suspicions.

“Yes, this used to be your room. Back then, I didn’t see any problem with what she liked, but after spending time with you and seeing all of this, I realized I prefer your style.” Chu Molin responded. He wasn’t criticizing the old Qin Xue, merely acknowledging that everyone has different preferences. He also preferred simpler and more minimalist decor. It seemed straightforward, classy, and comfortable.

“Chu Molin, can I change it?” Qin Xue asked Chu Molin. She really didn’t like it. Despite that it might be what modern girls like, it was certainly not her taste. Now that she lived here, she wanted to change it if she didn’t feel comfortable.

“Let’s not change it now, we’re only staying here for a short while. We will return to the Imperial Capital soon. Changing it now will only cause trouble.” Chu Molin reasoned. They hadn’t brought any replacements, so they would need to purchase new ones. Doing so would seem rather unreasonable to the Yues, so it was better to endure for now and avoid making things difficult for his mother-in-law.

“Alright, why do modern girls like such colorful fabrics? Isn’t pure color more soothing to the eyes?” Qin Xue couldn’t understand. Even if it was the popular choice, why didn’t her previous self strive to be unique? But there was no point in dwelling, as she had taken over another person’s life, living with her husband, and raising her child. So, she decided to tolerate it all.

“It’s just that these types of fabrics are more common now, and the ones you like are too expensive for most families.” Chu Molin commented. The materials Qin Xue bought were of high quality and hence, costly. With many people struggling to put food on their tables and staying warm, who had the luxury of worrying about these things?

“Alright, I understand. Let’s put away our things and head out.” Qin Xue nodded. She couldn’t be too demanding; she was already taking a lot. If she caused the original person to be entirely erased, at least she had to leave something for the family to remember by.

“Okay, let’s go.” After Chu Molin finished packing their luggage, he walked over to her, took her hand and gently kissed it.

“Let’s go.” Qin Xue felt it was a very ordinary gesture, so she just glanced at him and began moving. They had just stepped out of their room when they saw Qin Jiale approaching, probably to call them for dinner.

“Sis, brother-in-law, mom asked you guys to come and have dinner.” Qin Jiale immediately spoke up after seeing them. Qin Xue figured she was indeed there to invite them to dinner. They better go to avoid keeping everyone waiting.

“Alright, do you have any issues sharing the room with Xue Ling?” Qin Xue asked Qin Jiale.

“No way, that little girl is so adorable. I’ve never seen such a beautiful girl before. Sis, how did you find her?” Qin Jiale asked. With a child this beautiful, how could the people from her home abandon her?

“One day, while I was out grocery shopping, I saw some people bullying her, so I intervened. It was as simple as that, but then she followed me home and refused to leave. Later I found out she had no family. How could I be so cold-hearted as to chase her away? So I let her stay.” Qin Xue recounted the story she had crafted. She told Qin Jiale the fabricated tale about Xue Ling she had repeated many times, as it was the only plausible explanation she could provide.
