Reborn in the Eighties as a Housewife with a Space

Chapter 979: Chapter 973 The Host’s weakness is its weakness_1

“I don’t know.” Qin Xue had never thought about such a scenario. She only thought that immortals were not to be trifled with by mortals. However, what Chu Molin suggested was also a possibility, as it would be a form of restraint, just like the regulations in an army. There are constraints everywhere, stopping you from acting rashly, otherwise you’d be violating the rules.

“Exactly. You said you didn’t know, right? So what happens if you don’t take precautions and something like this really occurs? What will you do if it can’t perform its magic?” Chu Molin patted her head. She was smart at times, but not comprehensive enough in her thinking.

“Alright, I understand. I’ll teach it some self-defense techniques. This way, even if it can’t use magic, it can still defend itself a little.” Qin Xue responded somewhat helplessly. It felt as if something that was originally fine became complicated simply because of Chu Molin’s words.

“Sure. Anyway, you have to be on guard yourself to prevent anything. Everything else is futile.” Chu Molin wasn’t trying to dishearten her, it’s just that she took everything for granted, unable to discern right from wrong, and that was unacceptable.

“Xue Ling, did you hear all that? What did Chu Molin say that you can’t do?” Qin Xue asked her spiritual pet nestled in her arms. It never mentioned any of this to her.

“I’m not restrained, but if your spiritual and physical strength are too weak, it will affect me because you are my host. If you are too weak, it means that I am weak as well.” Xue Ling said. Its restrictions only apply to not harming good people. If it disciplines a bad person, it will gain merit. Therefore, there is no need to fear violating the rules. But if Qin Xue is too weak, it would indeed affect it.

“Huh, why is this related to me?” Qin Xue stuttered.

“Who else is there? You’re the one who awakened me, and I’m residing within you. Who else should it be related to if not you?” Xue Ling looked helplessly at Qin Xue. She was too ignorant; didn’t she understand that its fate was tied to hers?

“Alright, from now on I’ll work out more, so I can make myself stronger. That should be enough, right?” After hearing Xue Ling’s words, Qin Xue felt ashamed. So, that’s why Xue Ling had previously urged her to learn more.

“I should be the one thanking you. But you should also be more mindful of your abilities and not rely blindly on them, you understand?” Xue Ling was worried that she might overdo things and cause unintended consequences.

“Rest assured, I get it. I’m not really dumb, okay?” Qin Xue exclaimed, looking at the two pairs of doubtful eyes.

“Let’s go out now, otherwise your parents might not find us later. Next time when we have time, you can bring me in here again. We can’t delay any longer, right?” Chu Molin was afraid of the child crying and his mother-in-law searching for them. If they couldn’t find them, what would they say? So, they couldn’t waste any more time.

“Okay, Xue Ling do you prefer to stay in here or come out?” Qin Xue asked Xue Ling, who had not stayed in the space for too long.

“I’ll stay in the space and you can let me out when you all go to sleep.” Xue Ling needed to replenish its spiritual energy. So it decided to stay in the space for now.

“Alright, call me when you want to come out,” Qin Xue said, leaving her last words before taking Chu Molin out of the space.

“Your hair is still wet, you should go dry it, to avoid catching a cold.” Chu Molin remembered how difficult it was for her when she had a fever a while back and was afraid she might catch a cold again.

“Okay, come with me as well. The kids are awake.” Qin Xue held his hand, urging him to check on the kids with her. So she could carry them back to sleep later. They weren’t in the Imperial Capital anymore and couldn’t leave the kids under Xue Ling’s care. Therefore, they had to care for them by themselves.
