Reborn in the Eighties as a Housewife with a Space

Chapter 991: Chapter 985 Fighting for Favoritism_1 Chapter 991: Chapter 985 Fighting for Favoritism_1 Chu Molin, noticing that they hadn’t returned home for quite a while and with no trace of them even after his grandparents had arrived, asked for the location of the fish pond and went there himself. From afar, he saw his wife and the others.

Helpless, his wife stood out among the crowd like a glowing entity awkwardly placed, standing out so much like a crane amidst chickens that anyone could spot her immediately. Above all, the sporadic glances being thrown her way were greatly irksome to him.

Upon reaching the scene, Chu Molin briskly approached his wife. He was out to lay claim to his territory, after all, his wife was a married woman. He would not allow others to keep staring at her. Yielding was not in Chu Molin’s nature, he was the sort who preferred to take the initiative.

“Uncle Molin.” Jingtao, bored and scanning his surroundings, suddenly spotted Chu Molin coming from afar, so he slid down from the rock and ran over, reaching out to hold his hand.

Jingtao was quite fond of Chu Molin. He felt that Uncle Molin was just as tall and formidable as his own father. However, he didn’t know where his own father was. Sometimes when his mother heard him asking for his father, she would secretly cry. Although he didn’t understand why, he didn’t want to see his mother cry. Therefore, he never mentioned his father and only wished for a father figure when he saw his younger brother with one.

“Taotao, what are you all doing here?” Chu Molin bent down to pick him up and asked.

“Watching the fish.” Jingtao, pointing towards the mound of fish in the distance, replied.

“Do you like what you see?” Chu Molin asked. He realized that he had been growing more patient with children except his own wife, talking to them softly rather than treating them as coldly as he did his subordinates.

“They are pretty. Auntie Qin said they will be delicious.” Jingtao enunciated clearly. Thinking of Qin Xue’s promise of delicious food, he took a gulp.

“What did Auntie Qin say she would make that’s so delicious it’s made you this hungry?” Chu Molin laughed as he watched the child salivate just at the mention of the dish. He wondered what his wife had promised him.

Jingtao didn’t know what Auntie Qin had said, but he knew that whatever she made would be delicious.

“Alright then, let’s go find Auntie Qin,” said Chu Molin as he walked toward his wife and child.

“Chu Molin, when did you arrive?” Qin Xue noticed him as soon as Jingtao ran toward him, but she remained seated and waited.

“You’ve been out too long. I was worried,” Chu Molin said, setting Jingtao down beside his mother, taking the child from Fang Xiu’s hands, then sitting down next to his wife.

“It’s our own village, what’s there to worry about?” Qin Xue stared speechlessly at the man at her side. After all, it wasn’t as if she had gone off to some unknown place, was it?

“You know why,” Chu Molin left it at that. His wife understood what he meant.

“Lele’s with us, too,” Although Qin Xue understood, she had her sister with her as well.

“Where’s your little sister?” Chu Molin scanned the area, but there was no sign of Qin Jiale.

“She’s gone to catch shrimp, we’ll get to enjoy something delicious later,” Qin Xue remarked casually.

“No wonder Taotao was salivating earlier, it’s shrimp catching, huh?” Chu Molin wondered curiously. Had Jingtao ever eaten shrimp before?

“That kiddo is a foodie as well. As are these two. I noticed they stopped nursing from last night, now it’s all solid food. Are they planning to wean off milk?” Qin Xue looked at her children, thinking. At only half a year old, it wouldn’t be too early to start weaning, but a diet of solely solid food could be too hard on their stomachs.

“Considering how well they’re already eating, perhaps we should wean them off” Chu Molin suggested. That way, his wife would be entirely his again, freeing him from constantly having to compete with the two little tykes for her attention.

If Qin Xue had known what he was thinking, she would have laughed in his face. Competing with his own children for love, some accomplishment that was!
