Officer! You Can Get a First-class Merit Awards Just by Eating Melon Seeds?

Chapter 26 I Have a Pig-Slaughtering Knife at HomeIn my past life, while scrolling through videos, I watched a variety show featuring patients with XYY syndrome.

One ten-year-old boy plucked out his own eyebrows one by one, eating them while laughing, just like he was snacking on melon seeds. None of his ten fingernails were intact; they were all covered in bite marks.

He beat his parents, causing both of them to be hospitalized over thirty times in three years.

Minor injuries were countless.

Chen Mo looked at Ma Hang’s parents, who had numb expressions outside the interrogation room, and shook his head.

Doctors always inform parents about similar sex chromosome conditions in advance. Since they chose to keep the child, there’s nothing to sympathize with when they suffer for it.

He walked past the two of them and cast his gaze toward Ma Hang, who was sitting inside the interrogation room.

He was thirty years old, with noticeably asymmetrical cheeks and no eyebrows. When he realized Chen Mo was looking at him, he lowered his head slightly and revealed a bizarre smile.

Making eye contact with someone like this is actually quite uncomfortable.

It’s like looking at a venomous snake ready to strike at any moment.

But Chen Mo didn’t show any sign of unease.

Those with XYY syndrome are still human; they also understand the principle of bullying the weak and fearing the strong.

”Xiao Liu, you are in charge of the interrogation.”

A few minutes later.

The interrogation officially began.

During this time, Ma Hang was extremely uncooperative, but under Xiao Liu’s roaring and shouting, he gradually softened and answered whatever was asked.

”Li Jiaxin is dead, do you know that?”

As soon as the words fell, everyone stared intently at his reaction.

Ma Hang seemed not to have expected the police officer in front of him to say such a thing. After a brief moment of surprise, his excitement reached its peak.

He slammed both hands violently against the interrogation chair.

——Bang, bang, bang.

His palms struck the metal board, emitting a jarring sound.

”Good that she’s dead, she deserved to die!”

”Hahaha, whoever killed her, I want to treat him to a whole pig!”

For a normal person, reaching such an emotional peak would take time, but this guy reached it instantly with just one sentence.

Due to his facial asymmetry and lack of eyebrows, although he was cheering, it looked incredibly bizarre in the eyes of the observers.

When a venomous snake is happy, surely no one would think it has lost its lethality, right?

”Did you kill her?”

Xiao Liu looked annoyed; this guy was too good at creating noise.

”Did I kill her?”

”I killed her. I wanted to kill her; I even dreamed of killing her!”

”Hahahaha!!!”

Laughter of extreme joy erupted from his mouth once again.

Xiao Liu’s eyes lit up upon hearing this, and he pressed further.

”Then tell me, how did you kill her!?”

It seemed as if the scene of killing Li Jiaxin had been rehearsed many times in his mind.

Without hesitation, Ma Hang spoke through gritted teeth.

”I have a pig-slaughtering knife in my house!”

”I want to slash her body one knife at a time, a thousand cuts, a thousand cuts!”

Hatred surged straight to his mind!!!

He became agitated again, slamming his hands against the chair, bang, bang, bang.

Xiao Liu didn’t feel any impatience; this matched up.

The victim had indeed been slashed many times.

Ma Hang had been swindled in a marriage fraud, the money wasn’t returned, and on top of the emotional deception, it was enough to make him, someone already unable to control his emotions, commit murder.

He looked outside the interrogation room.

He saw Brother Mo’s back as he prepared to leave, which left him somewhat confused.

...

Outside the interrogation room.

Chen Mo and Long Hao were both silent.

Only Xiao Liu would think Ma Hang was the killer.

Although those with XYY syndrome have cognitive deficits, it doesn’t mean they are fools.

The two cannot be equated.

Admitting to the murder directly was likely Ma Hang speaking his inner thoughts while in an agitated state.

In reality, he hadn’t actually committed the act of murder.

If they waited for him to calm down and asked again, the result would inevitably be different.

”In this situation...” Long Hao shook his head.

He didn’t know what to do either.

If they said Ma Hang wasn’t the killer, he had too many suspicions on him.

If they said he was the killer, that interrogation just now dispelled the doubts in his heart.

In fact, if there were other clues to continue the investigation.

They naturally wouldn’t continue to struggle here over the possibility of whether Ma Hang was lying.

Just then, two pleading voices rang out.

”Officer, he is the one who killed her, sentence him to death!”

”Please, I beg you!”

Ma Hang’s parents, of course, had also heard what their son said inside.

There was no sign of rebuttal on their numb expressions; instead, they requested that their son be executed.

It seems they have suffered a lot over the years.

Naturally, the two would not agree to such a request.

”Please calm down.”

Long Hao waved his hand, signaling someone to come and soothe Ma Hang’s parents.

The two of them walked toward the outside of the police station.

”Ma Hang’s suspicion can be temporarily cleared. Did you notice that his emotions were problematic?”

Chen Mo recalled the way Ma Hang was excitedly slamming the table with both hands.

”Emotions? You mean he was too happy? But for them, it’s normal to have trouble controlling emotions, right?”

”No, that’s not what I mean. Usually, after a murderer commits a crime, the feeling of excitement ends quickly, followed by the long-lasting relief of having avenged a great grudge. This feeling lasts for a very long time.”

You can think of it like someone owing you money and not paying it back, and eventually, under legal sanctions, they become blacklisted. You’d be excited when you first get the money, but whenever you think about it afterward, the emotion is surely one of relief, followed by cursing, ’Damn, you deserved it, you prick.’

Relief is not exactly the same as excitement. Similarly, when reflected in expressions, there is a huge difference.

”So, you mean that when he heard the news of Li Jiaxin’s death, if he were to plead guilty, the emotion should have been that feeling of having avenged a great grudge, not excitement.”

Long Hao looked enlightened, simultaneously recalling the emotions of suspects in similar vendetta cases.

When evidence was conclusive, and in cases where they did not deny their guilt.

It seems that everyone who killed someone they had a deep grudge against indeed displayed that sense of relief from having avenged a great grudge.

From this perspective, Ma Hang’s suspicion can indeed be temporarily cleared.

At the same time, a thought occurred to him.

”By the way, how did you know Li Jiaxin’s parents were lying?”

He could figure it out simply because he felt that parents who wanted to avenge their daughter would tell you everything, not just about enemies, but even petty matters, for fear that the police wouldn’t find the killer and couldn’t avenge their daughter.

But the old couple couldn’t think of anyone other than Ma Hang after thinking for a long time.

Living for decades and never having any friction with anyone?

It’s just strange.

”Expressions can talk.”

Chen Mo still used his all-purpose reply.

Just then, a shrill cell phone ringtone rang out.

——’Love Even If You Die,’ ’If it’s not thorough, it’s not satisfying.’

Long Hao took out an old silver Nokia 8850 mobile phone and pressed the answer button.

This phone seemed to cost around 3,300 yuan in that era.

And the average salary in ’02 was only over a thousand.

”What!?”

”Okay, Chen Mo and I will head over immediately.”
